I think I need to head over to the clinic on Vukovar Street. Just wanted to ask what kind of tests they usually run, and if I should probably skip breakfast in the morning or something? It’s for my club, if that even matters 🤷. Thanks 😁

Hey everyone,

Does anyone happen to remember the name of that famous Chinese—or maybe Japanese, I can't quite recall—acupuncture specialist who runs a practice over in Brooklyn? I swear I saw a feature about him recently on a segment on an RTL news program or something similar.

If you’re planning on getting lab work done, you should probably see Dr. Natase—otherwise, just come by whenever you want 🙂. They’ll take your blood pressure, run an EKG, check your height and weight, and then you can have a quick chat with the doctor at the community health center to get everything checked out...

I'm facing massive gynecological issues, even though I'm only 35 and have had just one child.
Because of these complications, surgery is being recommended to remove both my ovaries and my uterus. I'm caught in this impossible bind: I desperately want to have another child, yet I need to save whatever functionality is left in those ovaries that are currently being ravaged by endometriosis and uterine fibroids. A highly respected gynecologist in my city suggested I see Dr. Barišić at the main hospital, but getting an appointment with him feels like trying to climb Everest. Does anyone know a way to actually get through to him?
Thank you so much.

Does anyone have recommendations for ENT specialists in New York City?

I'm facing quite a dilemma—it’s regarding sinus surgery.

Dr. South - St. Spirit
Dr. Grgić - Vinogradska
Dr. Janjanin and Dr. Mladina - Rebro

Since I’m not originally from NYC, I’m still getting my bearings when it comes to doctors, dentists, and all that—not exactly an expert yet. Does anyone have an orthodontist recommendation? Ideally someone who takes Medicare so I don't have to drop a massive amount of cash on private care. Preferably somewhere near Knežija or Trešnjevka. Thanks.🙂

I truly believe that the ordeal a student in New York City faces when they haven't selected a primary care physician, a gynecologist, or a dentist is nothing short of inhumane.
There is simply no way for anyone to assist you at the ER unless you are actively dying, bleeding out, or facing some other immediate catastrophe.

Since I am currently feeling quite ill,

I am earnestly asking for your recommendations regarding the best primary care doctor and gynecologist I could choose in New York City. Location is entirely irrelevant to me; my only priority is finding someone who is genuinely excellent.

Since I’m not originally from New York City, even after living here for two years, I still haven't managed to find myself a gynecologist... it seems like absolutely nobody is accepting new patients lately... unfortunately. Could someone please help me out and provide an address or a phone number for a gynecologist practicing in the Trešnjevka area who actually has openings? This has become quite urgent for me, so thank you all so much for any assistance you can offer.

I am looking for some advice, and I need it urgently!

For several days now, I have been struggling with a persistent cough and a nagging headache. To make matters worse, my throat is incredibly sore, and I’m honestly at a loss as to what to do next.

I have tried everything in my pantry—various teas and home remedies—but nothing seems to be providing any relief.

Please help me out, everyone. 🙂

Because of these health problems, surgery is being recommended where I'd lose both ovaries and my uterus. Between wanting to have another baby and trying to salvage whatever is left of those ovaries—which are being destroyed by endometriosis and uterine fibroids—a highly respected gynecologist in my city strongly recommends Dr. Barišić at the Petrova clinic. The catch? Getting an actual appointment with him is nearly impossible. Is there anyone out there who can help me get in touch with him?
Thank you so much.

I sent you a private message. 🙂

I finally managed to talk my way into getting an appointment with the primary care physician, Dr. Sumic at Kruge Medical Center.

I also visited the gynecologist at the KOS clinic, which is located right in Kruge—I would strongly advise everyone to avoid that gynecologist under any circumstances.

Afterward, I heard so many glowing recommendations for Dr. Dragutin at the Dubrava Community Health Center. Honestly, I don't understand what all the hype is about; perhaps he is indeed a skilled gynecologist, but his specific approach is absolutely unacceptable to me! The way he speaks to patients is simply improper; we aren't sitting at a bar in some rural dive, and I am certainly not some local hillbilly.

+ Question: If I requested a registration form at the office, but realized once I had it that I truly didn't want to commit, and therefore haven't had it verified by Medicare and don't intend to, can I still request a different gynecologist? In other words, will this already be flagged in the system?

Hannah Collins3 said:+ one more thing: if I picked up my registration paperwork at the clinic, but then realized I actually don't want to go there and didn't have it processed through Medicare yet, can I just go find a different gynecologist? Is it already locked into the system?

Look, if you haven't had that doctor selection form processed by Medicare, then you aren't officially their patient yet. You're totally free to head over to another clinic and ask them to handle the paperwork. It's only once they process it through Medicare and you hand a verified copy back to the original office that you're actually on their books.

I’ve spent years playing soccer on asphalt, turf, and natural grass, and all that wear and tear has definitely taken its toll on my knees... I’ve twisted them, strained them, and honestly, gone through just about everything you can imagine😲 so I really want to get them checked out and see if there’s any way to fix the damage
What kind of experiences have you guys had with knee treatments? Does anyone have an orthopedist they’d recommend? Ideally, I’m looking for someone who takes Medicare since money is a bit tight right now—it's not like I can't walk or anything, but I'd love to handle this without unnecessary complications...
Thanks

Can someone please point me toward a decent (meaning actually competent) GP in the New Chicago area? My current doctor is an absolute disaster—constantly misdiagnosing things and being incredibly stingy with referrals for specialists.😠
Thanks!

So far, I have cycled through two different dentists here in New York City. My reason for leaving the first dentist in Dubrava (Retkovec) was the sheer amount of waiting—I was looking at month-long delays just to get an appointment. Plus, there was way too much empty chatter and sweet talk, but very little actual dedication to the work itself. Honestly, I’m not even sure if she was doing a good job; she only fixed a few teeth because I specifically pointed out which ones felt problematic. If I don't bring it up, she definitely won't mention anything is wrong. You basically wait until the situation reaches a breaking point and the tooth actually starts hurting, even though I was going in every six months for preventive checkups where she insisted "everything was fine." After her, I switched to a second dentist (Željko Kraljević at the Community Health Center near Branimirov Market) based on a friend's recommendation. At first, it seemed great—he schedules appointments weekly—but lately, I've been questioning his expertise and professionalism. To get a single tooth fixed and filled, I have to visit him at least three times per tooth. He charged me $50 for a white filling, which seemed suspicious given that I used to pay $50, regardless of how high-quality the material might be. He had me take a photo of the tooth, then he "fixed" it, and now, for six months straight, I haven't been able to eat on the right side because it hurts with heat, cold, or even just touch. When I bring this up to him, he deflects by claiming that white fillings are just tricky and sometimes "don't seat properly," causing all these issues. So, I've been trying to fix three teeth for nearly a year now, and not a single one is finished. One filling fell out after just two months, and I was back in today. He put it in again, but now it hurts whenever I eat. :S For what it's worth, I usually have strong, healthy teeth, and this whole ordeal is driving me absolutely insane. Since I am still a student, I can't afford private practice dentists yet, so I was wondering if anyone could give me a specific recommendation? Please let me know a person, an address, or a Community Health Center that you know for a fact is reliable. Thank you in advance!

I've been living in New York City for quite a while now, and I finally need to pick a primary care physician. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a great GP? I'm looking for someone truly skilled, professional, and who really knows their stuff.

Can someone recommend a good pediatric ophthalmologist in Miami? My 5-year-old has been complaining about headaches for a while now, so I want to get their vision checked out. For me, the most important thing is finding someone who is highly skilled and actually knows how to work with kids.
Thanks!
