We’ve touched on critics before, but I’ll say this much: most of them are just mediocre at best, and I honestly can't wrap my head around how anyone could actually enjoy Schreck with that constant, juvenile toilet humor...

The only ones who truly hit the mark are Pixar’s absolute masterpieces—Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, and Monsters, Inc.
Even those short films they play before the features, like the one with the fireflies or the one about the birds, are just brilliant...

They have actual wit, whereas DreamWorks and Warner Bros. just aren't quite hitting that level of quality...

As far as Disney goes, Disney's Hercules is genuinely funny to me, but most of their other stuff relies way too heavily on singing and songs that feel a bit cheap...

Then there's The Lion King. Please... the whole circle of life thing... give me a break...

I am fairly certain that Ice Age isn't actually a Disney production.

As for the films that truly belong to the Disney catalog, I would highlight these as exceptional:
Monsters, Inc.
The Emperor's New Groove
Robin Hood
Jungle Book
Mulan

I trust there are others in the mix, but these are the only ones currently coming to mind.
If we are looking at the more recent era, I’d point to The Emperor's New Groove; it is quite frankly a phenomenal film.😉

Actually, "Ice Age" isn't a Disney production like C'Tebo suggested; it actually belongs to Fox.

Slightly off-topic here...one thing I absolutely love about those old-school DVD releases is the massive amount of bonus features—especially on Ice Age🙏

If I could vote every single day, I’d be casting my ballot for Shrek every time—though honestly, Monsters, Inc. is right up there in the running as a close second. And look, I don't think Shrek relies on some specific "Western" style of humor just for the sake of it. There’s definitely that bit at the start meant to highlight how much of a beast the main guy is, but the whole soul of the movie is really about the fact that you can't judge a book by its cover. Like, sure, they *are* what they look like, but it flips the whole concept on its head in such a cool way.

Man, I feel like I'm struggling to put this exactly the way I want to, but seriously... Shrek is king!

I went with the monsters, mostly because of that Little Boa Monster. Honestly, I was a total softie every time she popped up on screen.😳 😁

When it comes to Disney's newer stuff, Aladdin is probably my favorite, but let’s be real—it doesn't touch the classics.
