And then there's Gandalf just messing around with three little marbles!!! 😉

You guys aren't wrong, though; the movie actually hits because it doesn't feel like some mindless junk and stays relatively grounded. 👍

I might sound stupid here, but whatever... I didn't like the movie, but that's besides the point.

When Gandalf made that platform and stood on it to levitate... It’s such a blatant middle finger to Newton's third law! You know, action and reaction. Look, I get it, it's fantasy, but there should be at least some basic level of physics involved.

Hehe, call me an idiot if you want, thanks, glad I could help...

Phys... what?

Anyway, like I was saying about explosions and boobs, there are plenty of both in X2 and I happen to enjoy explosions and boobs...

I actually liked the movie. Honestly, out of all the comic book adaptations I've seen, this one takes the top spot—even beating out the first sequel. It drags a little in certain parts, sure, but it stays engaging enough to keep you hooked. The cast did a solid job, too.

It’s honestly such a fantastic movie. I might actually end up sitting down to watch it all over again later today.

Finally got around to watching it. The movie was pretty decent—though they definitely fumbled the ending during those last 15 minutes... It felt like she was sacrificing herself at the end for someone standing next to that guy who can turn everything to ice. A bit too much unnecessary melodrama right at the finish, but overall it’s a fun watch and worth checking out...

Storm can manipulate the weather, Xavier can move mountains with his mind... and honestly, looking at it from that perspective, I felt a little foolish myself...
But I guess they just needed an excuse to kill her off, just so they could bring her back in X2: X-Men United... Assuming they bring her back as Dark Phoenix...
Most people I know thought the ending sucked because Jean dies... But... well... once again... she didn't actually die... Maybe everyone just rushed out of the theater too fast to notice the Phoenix silhouette in the water at the bottom of Alkali Lake...

Man, we’re starting to act just like Americans. We can't handle anything without a perfect happy ending. 🙄

If they don't bring back Famke Jensen in the next installment, I'm out. If the movie tanks at the box office because of it, don't look at me... it'll be entirely on you guys.

(Alright, fine, I'm pissed. Saw it yesterday and I'm still reeling.)

Alright, look, the movie isn't quite as mindless as something like Daredevil... but that woman with the spikes coming out of her fingers is easily the most idiotic guy in the history of bad characters. And on top of that, she almost takes down Wolverine...

STAAAAAAAAAAAAA???!!!!!! FLINTLOCKS AT DAWN, I SAY SIRE!

Deathstrike is absolutely insane!!! Honestly, she’s the hottest woman in the entire movie. Good grief. She’s practically invulnerable, has regeneration, enhanced strength, durability, and reflexes—she nearly beats Wolverine, and she does it all while rocking nerd clothes, glasses, and that specific hairstyle for most of the film?

I mean, what other reason do you even need for a female character to be top-tier? 😲

What a scandalous waste of a character!!!!! But then again, if they had kept her alive, who would have even paid attention to Wolverine? Seriously, she has the exact same abilities as him, plus the special ability of being a "hot, nerdy-looking woman who doesn't say a word."

After the movie wrapped up, I couldn't stop obsessing over this one single question:

Who do you think would actually come out on top in a head-to-head showdown between Jean-Luc Picard and Gandalf?

Personally, I think the best part is when Wolverine—right at the end of the fight—just goes nuts with that bullet or whatever crazy element they used.
It's right before he hits the floor like a rock in a lake, that poison the bad guy was using to control them finally wears off—and for those one or two seconds while he's dying, he actually becomes himself again and finally realizes everything that happened.

Pure bullshit. That’s my personal term for it, anyway. 😁

Just before she hits the bottom of that well like a stone, the toxin used by that villain to control her finally wears off—leaving her just a second or two, in those final moments of death, to be herself again and finally wake up to the reality of everything.

Well, look at that. It never even crossed my mind. Now I just feel even more terrible about his death. 😢

The whole concept involving the water tank was actually decent. To be fair, the trope of "guy meets tragedy, dies, and falls into water" is pretty standard fare. I fully expected him to start floating in slow motion with his hair drifting gracefully around his face or some other cinematic cliché. Instead, we just got a single, anticlimactic "THUD."

Splendid. Absolutely splendid.

Guys, I really need some clarity here. In X-Men 2, did Wolverine actually bring himself back to life, or was Rogue's power involved in that? If he just resurrected himself, how is it even possible to kill him?
Thanks 🙏 🙏

The movie was decent enough...
Honestly, a significant step up from the first one...

My main gripe? It takes some pretty massive liberties with the comics.

For instance, they completely skipped over the whole thing where Mystique is actually Rogue's stepmother—or whatever relationship you want to call it—but that connection just isn't there in this version...
And where on earth is Sabretooth? We get Rogue, sure, but he’s nowhere to be found...

Maybe they'll decide to toss him into X-Men 3...
I'm really hoping X-Men 3 dives into how Onslaught actually forms from inside Xavier's mind :-)

Regardless of all that... I couldn't help but feel like Clint Eastwood had somehow found the fountain of youth just to play Wolverine.

Honestly, I don't think Picard needs to worry too much—Gandalf mostly has eyes for the younger guys...
