I think the movie picked up an Oscar mostly because of the headspace America was in back then. After 9/11, everyone seemed to be looking for something that wasn't about war or super heavy—just something lighter. So, *Chicago* felt like the logical pick at the time; there wasn't really much else competing for that spot. It’s a good flick and I enjoy that style, but honestly, it didn't earn that Oscar in my book. Still, I know every single song by heart, so I don't mind rewatching it when I just want to zone out. I'm not a huge fan of Renée, though. Personally, I think CJ and RG are much better. Actually, maybe not even RG, but still... overall, it's a pretty easy watch.😁
