going to the movies, especially when I don't have some loudmouth like glupinickname ruining the experience so I can actually watch the film in peace😁 😉
Alright, jokes aside, but seriously, I can't stand people who make a scene in the theater. It’s particularly grating when they’re in a group and seem completely oblivious to the fact that there are 200 other people in the room who paid to actually see the movie, not listen to their commentary

It’s the same deal at home, too. I prefer watching a film solo or with someone who is genuinely interested in the same thing
In those cases, we only tear apart the absolute brainless blockbusters, because let's face it—you don't need deep concentration or emotional immersion for those anyway, and honestly, those are the kinds of movies I rarely bother with

For me, nothing kills the vibe faster than some idiot forgetting to silence their phone right when a tense scene is unfolding... It’s absolute peak annoyance when they actually go ahead and answer it, too, so you're stuck listening to both the ringing and some obnoxious person shouting, "Hellooooo? Yeah, David, it's me. I'm in the cinemaaaa" 🙄 🙄 🙄

Sorry for going totally off-topic here, but Steven Ruiz reminded me of this one crazy phone call:
A buddy and I were driving around on this gorgeous Sunday when the car just dies on us. After a quick "well, what now?" moment, my friend decides to call some random guy to see if he could give us a lift—the conversation went exactly like this:
- Hey, man, we've got a problem... would you be able to... uh...
- Can't talk right now, I'm at church (!)
- At church? On a day like today?
- Yeah, my kid is having a crisis 😲 😲 😲

Anyway, I’m always down to watch a good movie regardless of how. Even though theaters have their perks, I’ll take watching a flick on my laptop over seeing something in a theater a year after its release any day.

I'm with you on that.

Movies are made to be seen in a theater... It’s just like fine art, you know? I didn't really appreciate paintings until I started wandering through museums, where you're surrounded by these massive canvases that let you actually *see* the detail, unlike some tiny, two-dimensional thing in a book... yeah...

So, when I want to watch movies, I head to the cinema... And honestly, the absolute best moments are those silent stretches in a film where everyone just goes dead quiet—holding their breath, waiting for what happens next... that's the magic right there...

Mind you, I don't love the theater itself because I'm a pretty laid-back guy and my legs aren't exactly built for sitting cramped up in tight spaces... sure, sometimes I find a seat with enough room to breathe, but that's a rare treat...

The other perfect spot for a movie? My bed. You know, that big king-sized setup meant for two, which is usually how many people end up lounging on it. We keep everything we need within arm's reach on the nightstand—chips, milk, cocoa, maybe a little tequila, or a cold beer... We’re either dressed down or just completely comfortable in every sense of the word, watching whatever is playing on the TV, whether it's coming from this machine I'm typing on or an old-school Videj (which is technically "new," but feels like a relic from last year to me 😉 )... The speakers sit right on the floor, angled up toward my waist, almost kissing the edge of the bed; they vibrate so intensely that I can practically feel the sound effects against my skin...
Man, I've gone on forever... I better stop rambling and get started on dinner, because something smells a bit off in the kitchen. Cheers...

As much as I appreciate the big screen experience, I honestly find myself preferring to catch a movie on my home setup rather than waiting a full year after its theatrical run just to see it at my own pace...

Oh man, yeah, things can be pretty tricky here in the States...
But over in England, you don't really deal with those kinds of delays because movies either drop simultaneously or maybe just a month after they hit the US markets. And if it’s a British production, we usually get to see them first, like when 🙂About a Boy

I only hit the movie theater once every few years. Honestly, the selection lately has been pretty mediocre. My only real plan for this year is seeing the Brothers Grimm.
I rarely bother with Digital/Streaming since I only own three: Wolf Brotherhood, The Matrix, and From Dusk Till Dawn. It’s mostly just so I can revisit my favorite scenes with high-end audio quality.
As for DVDs—I used to have quite a collection, but not since they stopped bundling them with morning deliveries. Occasionally, I'll pop in a DVD like Kill Bill or The Fifth Element.
VHS—actually quite often. Being unemployed means watching a good movie every day, and there's more than enough programming on networks like ABC to keep me busy. 👍

I watch movies in whatever format I can get my hands on... naturally, nothing beats the theater experience, followed by watching them on DVD at home... but if a movie is actually good and I’ve got an old VHS copy sitting around from twenty years ago, I'll pop it in without a second thought or any regrets. A movie is a movie. 😉

Theaters most often—usually just hitting up AMC—then DVDs from the local rental spot. I rarely bother with DivX because I can't be bothered staring at a computer screen for two hours when I could be watching on my TV. And no, I don't have the cables to hook my PC up to the TV. 😉

Streaming, man. No cash for DVDs, no time for trips to China, and honestly... just the internet.🙂

DivX, DVDs, cable, even going to the local movie theater—though I’m rarely interested in the current selection, and let's be honest, those ticket prices are getting ridiculous... if I were to put it bluntly, I'd probably rather just watch a movie on my phone if I actually believed it was worth my time.
