frozenseal55 👍 I am right there with you. That miserable PDF has basically turned into nothing more than an info desk for all the stuff you mentioned. And honestly, what’s even the point of shutting down new threads? You can always squeeze some topic under a broader umbrella—like Canada, the US, or Australia—but that defeats the whole purpose. It just kills the vibe, makes people frustrated, and eventually, nobody even bothers starting anything new. 😢
That was the one about American confidence versus European confidence. Finally, something actually worth reading! It was up for a hot minute, then they shut it down, then moved it somewhere else—who knows where, honestly... just pointless. And look, Stephanie is a woman with actual life experience and a solid way of looking at things; she writes beautifully, and I love her quotes. And I'm definitely not the only one who feels that way. 🙂

And it’s irritating—honestly, it couldn't be any more annoying. Eventually, you find yourself rarely even visiting the forum; you just skim through the threads, see the same repetitive stuff over and over, maybe open one or two, and then dodge the rest in a wide arc just to get out of there.
You can't even go to the CHAT because apparently, you have to stick to specific topics there too 😕 ... and good grief, how am I supposed to know how to troll in a chat if I have to follow rules? 😕

So, looks like Vilko got hit with another red card. 😕 Was it because of that one post in the CHATU? 😕 He basically said he shouldn't be posting here (allegedly—supposedly, I don't even know, but I take his word for it)—so he went over there and wrote that he can't complain here. And he did it right in the chat. 😁 Why does that merit a red card, though? I guess he already had some strikes piled up, so he earned himself a ban. Great. Now you deal with it. 😁 If I go over there and say anything, I’ll probably get flagged too, since apparently that counts as trolling. It’s all totally shady; I know for a fact one mod wouldn't even blink at something like that, while others are just out here handing out cards left and right. Honestly, I'm done. I'm not saying another word over there. ☕

NOBODY was actually doing a good job.
When I was appointed (for the second time) to moderate the diaspora section, I was practically greeted with open arms before I could even manage to perform a single moderation task or take any kind of action...
Everything that ambermason16 wrote above is the absolute truth, I'm afraid...
No, you weren't normal. Honestly, when you were first appointed as a moderator, it felt like the beginning of the end for the Diaspora subforum. When they brought you back the second time, you basically just finished the job. Now, that whole section has devolved into nothing more than an information desk...🙄🙄
Back during the Secund or Het days, nobody ever seemed to have a single complaint, whereas now, absolutely nobody has anything to say about Skattemus - therefore to exist. It seems there actually were "normal" moderators once upon a time.........😉😉

🤣
When I was first appointed as a moderator for the Diaspora section, that actually marked the very beginning of the Diaspora community itself. Honestly, I was the very first mod there... so, if you ask me, the Diaspora started going downhill from that exact moment. What’s your take on all that? 🙏 👍
Also, let me tell you, the Diaspora definitely wasn't some reliable hub for information back when I was running things, and anyone on the forum who has been around longer than you can certainly vouch for that... 😉 (though, whether you like it or not, providing info is one of the core functions of these forums, whether it's the Diaspora section or any other sub-forum)
And, by the way, every single one of those moderators mentioned above faced their fair share of criticism... coming from all sorts of directions... 😉

Between claims that Ironing Man is just another name for Skate Mus, suggestions that moderators should be from the "New World" (🤣), and the idea that in America you can only be one thing—a fascist, a communist, or part of the 🤔 diaspora... Not to mention quoting Kokuza like she’s some modern-day heroine! It's the ultra-urban Kokuza versus the shepherds! 😂😂
Posts like this are exactly why I don't hang out here more often. 😁 I'm afraid of catching the contagion, if you catch my drift...
I feel bad if certain Western themes and perspectives don't fit into your imaginary little bubble. Kokica is practically a fallen hero of this site. We should probably start an entire sub-forum dedicated to Kokica's mental (and other) qualities.
And that fear of catching the "infection" of free thought? It's so typical for a generation that was still in diapers when the missiles were falling on Washington, D.C. This postmodern political correctness in modern America is exactly why things are the way they are.
The forum is just a mirror reflecting that reality.

Since you're asking, I might as well give you a straight answer. Mod Secund was completely neutral toward users and topics—fair to everyone (like a true Swiss banker). Meanwhile, the other moderators on this site have their little favorites who can get away with anything.

slywolf45 said:Honestly, we’d probably be better off if the moderator for this diaspora forum was recruited from a different galaxy altogether.
Calling it the "New World" feels just a bit too cliché, don't you think?☕
Well, clearly your comment is providing massive support to those of us in the Diaspora right now—what point were you actually trying to make??
The Americans living abroad who wandered onto your PDF thread saw exactly how you and your crowd view us. That's why I think your comments are completely irrelevant here.

@ Steven Ruiz, who is desperately trying to prove on this thread that everyone in the Diaspora is totally clueless
It’s completely normal that there will always be someone looking for a fight. There is no such thing as a person who is perfect for everyone, but even though there have been plenty of mods in the Diaspora, the users have collectively targeted only a few.
One of them was Steven Ruiz, who is now working overtime to argue that Strikalica's tone and "conversation style" is perfectly fine—claiming it's only like that because of the way these Neanderthal users write. 🙄
Since I've been on this forum, out of all the moderators, only three have ever caused issues: Steven Ruiz, Marica carica (who was actually fine until she got "authority"), and now Strikalica, who stormed into the Diaspora with an attitude that wouldn't pass for decent human interaction in any civilized corner of America.

Exactly. That applies strictly to discussions about any country other than the USA or Canada. At one point, we had up to four different threads about Canada right on the first page, and it was the same deal with the USA, while new threads about Australia or Germany were constantly being moved. It just shows exactly which corner the mods are pushing everything into.

Oh, come on, stop talking nonsense if you don't actually understand what happened or why.
I was the one who banned Vilko, and it definitely wasn't because of some random post in the chat.
Got it?

And here I was thinking you wouldn't grasp exactly what kind of "contagion" I'm talking about.
As for my "non-existent world" and that whole line of reasoning regarding the "generation that was in diapers," etc.—it's a total non sequitur...just like 99% of your posts. 🤷

My "thread"? We (myself and my circle) back in the States don't spend our time talking about you people.🤷 😁
As for the jokes about guest workers... they're pure parody. But hey, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that not everyone gets the humor.😉

Unless you were a moderator over at Trash, I'm pretty sure you're wrong, but honestly, I don't care.☕
The truth is, PDF became a complete parody because of the Diaspora, and it seems some moderators just can't wrap their heads around that either.😉

I honestly feel like if we actually want the American Diaspora to move past this dead end and stop the endless
blah blah blah from those people calling themselves moderators, we—the actual users—need to step up and focus on
real topics. So, here's the plan:
- Stop answering all those stupid, boring, useless, repetitive questions. If we don't, there won't be any
pointless discussions wasting everyone's precious time—time that could be spent doing much better things, I think it's high time
that we stop letting ourselves get provoked or worn down by total nonsense and falling for it like some kind of... well, you know...😁
- We need to be way more active in the threads divided BY COUNTRY. Start posting about what’s actually
IMPORTANT (to you) happening right now—whether it's politics, culture, sports, or the food scene in that specific country
so the conversation actually moves forward. Since we're all watching everything from the other side of the fence anyway,
- In the CHAT, besides just saying "hi," checking the weather, or asking what time it is, recipes, music, and random info...
we could talk about WHO WENT WHERE, concerts, art shows, various events people want to hit up, restaurants, or even just good wine and food you've had lately...
- We should probably find the best ways to avoid certain arguments—at least in the Diaspora, we know you can't win against people who are being stubborn, and you always end up losing.😁
- Whether we want to or not, NOBODY is stopping us from making GOOD posts and only responding to stuff that's actually worth it.😍

I’ve actually been thinking (for a while now, honestly) about starting a thread based on this idea, but I need to make sure something similar hasn't already popped up. 🙂

Topics like this and others similar to it have actually been around for quite a while now, having been opened way back when I was first serving as a moderator over on Reddit...
