It’s a safe bet that Red Bull will be the class of the field, but given the increasing likelihood of them tearing each other apart in a sibling rivalry, they might just leave a window open for McLaren or Ferrari to make a dent. Honestly, if Fernando Alonso doesn't grab a win soon, he might just check himself into a clinic in Chicago out of pure frustration.

I’d love to see Robert Kubica, Jenson Button, and Mark Webber at the post-race press conference. Actually, if we could get Kamui Kobayashi in there too, he could probably fill in for any of them. :S

kajgot. Bridgestone sent out supersoft and hard compounds, so expect a repeat of Canada.

The internal fighting will also end the second Dieter Mateschitz decides to step in.

Did you see how Webber changed his tune? He said too much, and then Dieter insisted they all get treated equally even if it meant losing the championship. Dieter knows what the fans want—the audience needs to be satisfied—and that wasn't happening since most of the fans sided with Webber.

Is this someone's deliberate move just to stir up more drama and keep things moving?

When you say "viewers," are we talking about people just buying Red Bull, or actual fans?

It takes two to tango, and I haven't seen Vettel even stepping onto the dance floor lately.

Wrong on both counts. 🙂
A war only needs one person to start; regardless of what anyone else does, the conflict is inevitable.
Vettel simply veers off course whenever he feels his teammate isn't playing their part as a proper number two driver. 😁

Regardless, I suspect this should be Vettel's race to lose, because he’s currently teetering on the edge of letting Webber humiliate him even worse than Hamilton did to Alonso back in 2007. I actually cast my vote for him over on Pit Pass. 👍

The war was strictly between Webber-Horner and Vettel

Vettel is just collateral damage—a civilian.

It’s basically a showdown between Webber and himself. 🤣

He’s just constantly on edge and snapping at everyone. He knows he's running out of time—it's now or never if he wants a shot at the title. That realization is eating him alive, and honestly, who can blame him? 🤷

But I doubt anyone else inside Red Bull actually gives a damn about what's happening to Webber right now. 🤣

Does anyone else feel like the blown diffuser is essentially receiving a constant, steady stream of gases? It seems to maintain its efficiency regardless of where we are on the track. Wouldn't it be interesting if that airflow remained perfectly consistent through every turn?

That’s exactly why they dragged their feet on those engine "tweaks"—it wasn't about needing more horsepower 😁 , it was about fixing that exhaust pressure issue at the same time 🤣 Bingo...

They actually gained that pressure through engine mapping, which is really just a software adjustment 😉

Honestly, I wouldn't bet the house on it being purely a software issue🤷
I don't really have any hard evidence to back it up, I've just been around enough racing to develop this nagging gut feeling about it🤣🤣

Seriously, it felt like they stuffed them full of every spicy seasoning from India to Mexico. You're basically just spitting fire afterward.

Look, there are plenty of different kinds of sausages out there—not all of them are spicy as hell, man. Besides, what else is a cold beer for? 😍
mistybear87 said:once everyone has scattered toward the coast😢

I was thinking everyone can just do their own thing. I’ll probably just grab some sausages, fire up the electric grill on the patio, throw on some BBQ sauce, and call it a day. Hopefully we get some rain this Saturday to break this heatwave, otherwise, I’m staying sober. 😁

I gotta disagree...
There wasn't any real war before Turkey, at least nothing this loud in the media.
It all kicked off in Turkey. It started with Vettel going after Webber, it started with Vettel, it started with that whole finger-wagging thing he did...
image
Everything since then has just been a confirmation of what we already suspected: Vettel is the clear number one in the team. The new part is realizing Webber isn't having any of it... and honestly, he’s got a point because Vettel isn't actually a better driver than Webber and definitely hasn't earned that top spot.
Webber didn't say a single word against Vettel or the team before Turkey. But look, even if you treat their collision as a total racing incident where Webber couldn't possibly be blamed, Vettel still shouldn't have been pointing fingers like "this guy is crazy." So, I wouldn't call Vettel an innocent bystander or some victim here. This photo pretty much proves he's anything but. 😉

Yes, that was my intention😁 ,though I'm praying for a miracle here🙂🙂...🙂...
I just hope they can actually find some grip during qualifying🙂...🙂...

Typical. Everyone sees things differently.

As far as I'm concerned, Webber is completely to blame. In a situation like that, he should've moved. For the paycheck he pulls and the car he drives, he owes something to the team. There were plenty of empty seats in the stands, but apparently, it was just too much to ask him to move aside for his faster teammate.

That same Webber took him out in the last race, too. And let’s not forget how he slammed into Hamilton and likely ruined his podium finish.

So, in my book, Vettel's expression is totally justified. Thanks for the photo.

Why on earth would he move over??? He has every right to fight for position! Especially when he's leading the pack!!!

It was nothing more than a racing incident, and pointing fingers like that just makes him look crazy.

The real war started once that incompetent team principal took Vettel's side.

Why on earth should he move for a teammate who clearly wasn't skilled enough to pass without crashing? Just because of a salary? Man, billions of people earn a paycheck, and most of them don't let their coworkers or bosses push them around.
Did he get an official team order to let the guy through? Nope.
Was Webber officially designated as the number two driver who has to play nice and yield? No way...
Webber held his line and didn't budge an inch. He stayed stubborn and stuck to his lane because, legally speaking, he had every right to stay put. It was Vettel who tried a move he clearly couldn't pull off, and then ended up crashing straight into his own teammate.
A little later, the much smarter Button tried to overtake his teammate as well. Since he actually knew what he was doing, he managed to pull it off for a moment—though he might have had to give the spot back later. He definitely didn't keep pushing like a madman, and in the end, the smarter Button walked away with 18 points that Vettel could have grabbed.
Look, I wasn't jumping into this thread to debate who’s more to blame, since everyone's going to have their own take on that anyway. I only quoted you because you claimed Vettel doesn't get involved in the fighting. I posted the pic just to remind you that isn't true. Regardless of who we think is in the wrong... that look on Vettel's face is nothing less than a declaration of war. What you or I think about whether his reaction was fair is totally irrelevant to the fact that the fight has started.

It’s just that classic, fake American "everyone is special" mentality.

Just being a servant—staying a subordinate and settling for whatever scraps they throw you.

Heh, Webber is Australian, haha! He isn't some local hero like Ivica Kostelić or that uneducated kid Čolak.

I think this is being misinterpreted.

Exhaust pressure—and flow for that matter—can't stay constant regardless of engine RPM. Those two values are directly proportional.

That’s exactly why rally cars use bang-bang anti-lag systems.
