Why are there no mods in the Spirituality section?

Honestly, this is getting a bit ridiculous—I wouldn't even be chiming in if other members hadn't already started reacting.

When it comes to spiritual discussions, I mostly stick to one specific thread I started that’s quite dear to me.
Looking at other boards, I can see the moderators are doing a solid job. (Especially Scripta Elegans Fe, who basically hands out a warning online before actually sitting you down for a chat 😬 just kidding)

Basically, they’re cleaning up—or penalizing—off-topic chatter, spam, trolling, people flooding the board with back-to-back posts, and insults.

This particular thread has been around for months now. It’s not like there’s a massive flood of posts making it impossible to follow, but absolutely nothing is being moderated. There are tons of blatant examples of everything I just mentioned. If half of these posts were actually moderated, the thread would be half its current size.
And since nobody is stepping in, you can't find any meaningful content through all the off-topic noise, spam, and trolling. In fact, I can't even find my own posts anymore 🙄

I figure I'll just point this out here with a single post, since I can see others are feeling the same way (it's something I've grown used to 😁), and I won't push the issue because that feels a bit uncalled for.

From what I can see, the mods over on this forum have their hands full. When it comes to picking new moderators, we ought to be asking candidates how much actual time they can commit to the specific subforum they’re eyeing, rather than just checking if they happen to hold eighteen PhDs.

Sure, having an expert on hand is great, but I think we should prioritize people who actually enjoy hanging out in the subforum—the ones who post regularly and don't cause a scene. We need someone willing to put in a chunk of their day to scrub spam, delete rogue posts, and step in with warnings when things go off the rails.😬

Normally, if anyone is unhappy with something, they should just click that little triangle icon to "report offensive post" or maybe send a private message to a moderator. I have to admit, I haven't really looked at your thread in quite a while... it wasn't very active for a bit, and then it suddenly popped back up. Plus, my internet connection has been acting up lately, I guess. It keeps glitching out on me, so sometimes the whole page won't even load properly—it just hangs halfway through. That seems to happen most often with those longer threads that go on for multiple pages. My bad, truly. Maybe hiddenhound3 could take a look at it too.

This subforum is one of those rare spaces where moderation is used purely as a tool for punishment 😁

I suppose everyone here acts like some kind of spiritual moderator... guiding things through intuition rather than using a baton like a police officer might. Taylor Campbell4, there isn't much happening on this thread, and it looks like Father Peter has moved on to other interests too. It’s a bit of a shame, really—it's a decent topic. Maybe it would make more sense to write about the Maitreja instead of discussing God as if he were Hitler, but I guess everyone has their own preferences.
