Is it possible to change my handle to Tija ZD? I was under the impression that numbers weren't allowed here
thanks🙂
PS, why does this error message keep popping up whenever I try to view something?
tija54, you do not have permission to access this page.
Actually, numbers aren't forbidden, so you don't necessarily have to strip them from your username unless that's how you want it to look. 🙂
Regarding the switch to 'Tija ZD', do you really want to include a city abbreviation in your handle? I feel like you could come up with something a bit more creative, since there are already plenty of users using that specific area code.
But hey, if that's what you're set on, just go with Tija ZD and reach out to Nick. 🙂
As for that error you're running into, it's likely because you're trying to access a page where you don't have clearance, or perhaps you're attempting to use the forum search, which is temporarily disabled at the moment.
thanks🙂

In the event that the username you’re eyeing is already taken, but that user hasn't logged in for years and has a negligible post count—or zero posts at all—there is a possibility we might approve such a request. The admin team holds the final say on whether these types of requests get the green light. Please understand that administration isn't obligated to provide an exhaustive explanation for why a specific request was accepted or denied.
Is this rule actually enforced?
My namesake, silvertiger11, has been a member since 2006 with a grand total of 10 posts. His last login was back in 2011. His profile says he's 39, and for his interests, he listed "sleeping" twice. Normally, I'm not one to scavenge someone else's identity, but frankly, I need it more than he does. I think we can move past this. Is assimilation on the table?

It’s being said that this applies if we're talking about someone who's, like, super inactive on the forum. But look, regarding your guy silvertiger11, his last actual post was way back in 2007, though his last login activity shows up as 2011, which you can see for yourself, so I guess that means the profile is still active—maybe he just uses it for private messages or something. It's not really old enough to justify stripping him of his handle.

Thanks! So, does that mean I just need to log in using my other handle now?
never mind, forget it.

I would like to request a nickname change to Kevin Ruiz2🙂
I’d suggest you reach out to rustydrifter10 regarding the request for Kevin Ruiz2. 🙂

Alright, let me try this again... I’m really hoping to ditch these numbers at the end of my handle (951). So, here's the deal: wanderingheron9's handle has actually been taken since back in 2009 by some guy who only ever made one single post—he hasn't even logged in since 2010. 🤦Last time I tried to switch, the admins shot me down, but I just realized that the current owner actually uses a capital "S." Since I'm looking to go with a lowercase "s," the username "sylar" should actually be available for me to grab. 🙂

There you go.

Since the rules apply pretty much equally to everyone, I can't really ask to switch my handle to "Rocket" because that name is already taken—even if the guy only has six posts and hasn't been active since 2009. It crossed my mind, though, and I was wondering if it might be possible to just change it to "Rocket " instead, you know, by adding a space after the "t"? Looking over the rules in the first post, I guess it shouldn't technically break anything, but I figured I should probably double-check with 😁
.
Actually, that probably wouldn't work because the system would likely view it as the exact same username. I suppose if I added an initial or something after the space, maybe the system would recognize it as a different entry, but as it stands, it probably won't see the difference.

What about Rocke_t? That isn't taken either 😁 specifically in that exact format 🙂
Thanks 🙂

You just changed yours recently.
So, I wasn't dreaming after all. 😛 I honestly couldn't remember if I had already asked this or not, which is exactly why I brought it up. Thanks. 🙂

Nah, if you're going to switch up your handle, you've gotta drop the numbers.

I'm trying to set up a new profile, but the system cuts me off after 14 characters when I try to pick a username. If I counted correctly, that's where it stops. Is this some new rule they rolled out?
