Look, Neva, the whole reason you've been around so long is that people actually know who you are, so if you go and pull a complete 180 on your handle, you're gonna be totally unrecognizable to the regulars who have known you by this name for years. That's why we can't just let you make these kinds of massive, sweeping changes.
Maybe try coming up with something that still feels a little bit like what you have now, just so the folks around here can still tell it's you.

Well, that’s precisely where the issue lies; there are certain people I have absolutely no desire to be recognized by.
People from my actual life have started stalking my activity on this forum because they figured out who is behind the screen—some of them are even members here.
I’ve been walking around with this same handle for ten years straight. *sigh* 😠

It just dawned on me that nothing is actually going to change, because I went ahead and publicly announced what my new handle would be. That’s a decision only I can make.

Well, you really haven't. I can't say for certain that you didn't reach out ages ago at the very beginning—I might have just forgotten since I wasn't able to change my username whenever I wanted back then, only occasionally—but after that "a million times" comment, and especially looking at everything lately and over the last few days, you definitely haven't. Like Drake was saying to you, just pick a handle that actually follows the community guidelines and then get in touch.

Hey, if it's possible, could I change my hologram to something else? The main reason is that I use this same handle on a few other sites, so I'd love to have some consistency. It doesn't need to be a total overhaul—honestly, just adding or removing a little something would be perfect, whatever is easiest and simplest for you guys to handle.

Requests to change from Mark to John, or anything similar to that, are strictly off-limits; because of that, any post making that kind of request is going to be deleted without a warning.
The only corrections we actually allow are stuff like tweaking your capitalization or minor adjustments that don't change the core meaning of your handle. The main thing is that your nickname stays recognizable.
For example: Tika to tika or tikica.

Honestly, you could go by brightseal3 John or even brightseal3 Mark if that's what you're feeling! They're pretty much interchangeable in this context. And look, John and Mark are just placeholders I used—you can totally come up with something else entirely as long as you stick with the "brightseal3" prefix.
