See, look, that scene where two characters fall into the belly of the ship and just slaughter about 20 other people? That kind of thing only works in a space action flick. But you're right, the movie jumps from that action vibe into some quasi-philosophical territory, then into surrealism, and so on. And I think that's the biggest issue. They just didn't know which genre they wanted to stay in, I guess.

Personally, my favorite part was when the characters were hooking up at the end while scanning their organs. But, man, it's so incompatible with everything else in the movie that it actually made it worse.

If this had been directed by Cronenberg (or maybe Lynch), and if they had used that final scene to drive the story home, we’d be looking at a masterpiece of the decade.

The way it is now? Just erase & rewind.

Alright, fine... that was one of only two action scenes in the entire movie (the other being the hammer stuff and whatever else happened in the hallway at the end)...but that was all the action we got. That’s why I say I don't see this primarily as an action movie, even if I'll be honest... I expected that, but I got something else instead. It was alright, but yeah, it could have been better... definitely.

Yeah... that scene was totally morbid and interesting at the same time... shot like a sex scene... my only gripe is how unrealistic it was. If I accidentally cut my finger, it hurts like hell... let alone something like that...

The whole Schrödinger thing is really just saying that the observer's presence changes the outcome. It’s not like there’s some mystical cat that’s somehow both dead and alive at once.

I mean, I get why they wanted to use that metaphor. But it feels a bit arrogant to twist the science just to force an emotional effect.

And honestly, this is the worst part. That trope where a character realizes it was all just a dream is probably the biggest cliché in cinema history. I guess if you're going to use it, you really need a damn good reason to justify it.

Besides, I pretty much saw the ending coming during that early scene where Forrest mentions Judah and that device used to create dreams. It felt like they were trying way too hard to manufacture that retrospective "aha!" moment, but it was kind of pathetic... I remember thinking, "Please, please don't let this end up being a dream sequence."

But yeah, I guess my prayers went unanswered. 😢

As long as the observer is outside the system they're watching, they have to assume the system exists in every possible state. Until that box is opened, the cat is effectively both alive and dead because both states are equally probable. Only after the observer opens the box does the system settle into one state—and the observer's action is what actually determines if the cat is alive or dead.
I think the writer wanted to highlight that paradox, just like how Judah talks about it early in the film: "How can something be both alive and dead at the same time?" To me, that seems like one of the movie's core themes.

Look, we might not agree on how he pulled it off in the end, but hey, to each their own, right?👍

The big difference is that this is actual, proven physical reality surrounding us—it's how the world actually exists... which is a far cry from Pinocchio! 😉

Hmm... The film is decent—plenty of intense gore, killings, and organ harvesting. 🙂
What truly unsettled me, however, was the bilingualism. On the highway signs—specifically at the tunnel entrance—the text appears first in English, then in Chinese characters below (I assume that's what it is, as I can't distinguish much between Japanese and Chinese script). There are also Chinese advertisements in downtown, Chinese characters on receipts, and Forest Whitaker—playing Jake—mentions a Chinese woman living next door... What kind of subconscious messages are they trying to send us? 😲

I found myself revisiting the 1984 classic just yesterday, only to stumble upon this thread and realize there’s a 2010 film sharing the exact same title—and apparently, it’s some kind of massive hit... 🙂

So, I finally sat down to watch that movie, and honestly? It was a total miss for me. 🤷
I couldn't even sit through the whole thing in one go—had to break it up into a few different sittings just to get through it.

Same here. Honestly, I don't think I've ever had to watch a movie in three separate chunks just to finish it. It was such a slog I had to pause halfway through and wait a few days just to find the nerve to see how it ended. What a joke.
I will say, the last thirty minutes actually held my interest. Too bad the first hour wasn't nearly as good. I expected way more from this. 😢

Just finished watching this movie and honestly... I hated it. Most of the runtime was actually decent—the plot was engaging, plenty of fights, action, and genuine tension... but then that ending hits. It completely nuked the whole experience for me. What a joke.

I actually had a great time with it—honestly, I’d go as far as calling it very good.
Maybe the soundtrack just totally won me over since it's absolutely phenomenal...
