Router recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a solid router for $133?

I’m honestly at my breaking point with this Linksys thing from AT&T. The connection drops constantly, I’m stuck doing ten-minute restarts, and the speeds are just crawling... I’ve officially had it.

For what I need in a new router, I really want reliable Verizon coverage since I'll have at least three different devices running on it. I need a connection that won't drop, stays online without deciding to reboot itself for no reason, and doesn't give me any headaches with the firewall.

I already mentioned in my first sentence, up to $133, if you can find something better at that price point.

Look, I’ve actually been rocking a Linksys myself since day one. I've had it running for almost two years now, and honestly, it hasn't let me down once.
But hey, instead of just throwing money away on a fancy new router, maybe try calling AT&T technical support and explaining what's going on. They really ought to swap it out for you at no charge.
Or, if you want my two cents, if your contract is up, just ditch them and switch providers entirely...

General Electric makes some pretty decent routers, you can see what they've got out there at Best Buy.

My folks at AT&T swapped out my old router for this white Thompson unit and honestly... everything's running perfectly.

Don't waste your money. Honestly, I don't think the router is the problem—it’s more likely an issue with AT&T. I've gone through plenty of D-Link models, spent a decent amount of cash $233, and they still drop the connection constantly (if you really want the specifics, it happens every 1h28min46-67s 😁). The service provider is just unreliable, and since I live out in the middle of nowhere, I'm stuck with their ADSL or nothing at all.

Right... they'll happily swap it for free, but they'll make sure to tack on a contract extension while they're at it...

Not sure if this is the right spot for this, but I couldn't find anywhere else to dump this question. I’m switching ISPs in a few days. I live in the States and my current provider was Comcast—they gave me this old Netgear Wi-Fi 6 setup. Today, I got word from the new provider, Spectrum, that they're sending an ALICE IAD 5130 modem. The problem? It only has LAN ports—no wireless capability at all. Is there any way I can repurpose my old gear to work with the new setup? I don't have the luxury of running cables through my apartment unless I want my computer sitting out in the hallway. Up until now, everything has been wireless via a USB adapter. Any experts out there who can help?

Probably not. I'm assuming both the old and new units have built-in modems. If that's the case, you can't just daisy-chain them together.

However, you could try swapping the new one out for the old one. It might work, or it might not. Give it a shot...

If that fails, you can always pick up an extra access point or a wireless router (one without a modem!!!) and hook it up to this Comcast router...
