Exactly. If he screws this up, Mercedes loses a fortune in revenue next year... 🙂

Jose Myers87 As I was saying:
I honestly feel like Bottas is driving for both his own career and Lewis Hamilton's today. The stakes couldn't possibly be higher, and I guess you could even say this might just be the most important race of the century!

I honestly feel like the stakes involved were just so incredibly high that maybe, if I'm being totally honest, Lewis might have just made up the whole coronavirus thing just to get a head start on heading home early; I mean, it’s possible he just wasn't really feeling up for all the extra hassle, wouldn't you agree? 🤣

I guess you could say that Lewis Hamilton is truly in a league of his own, though I suppose it depends on how one views his current trajectory within the sport! It honestly feels like we are watching a living legend navigate such complex waters, and while there might be some debate among the fans, I’ve always felt that his sheer talent and presence on the track are simply undeniable, wouldn't you agree? I have to say, things aren't exactly looking great at the moment, I suppose.Well, if you take what Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has been saying lately, it sounds like the F1 World champion is currently battling with some mild symptoms of coronavirus. I suppose if I had to describe things right now, I might say they feel somewhat mild, though I guess that’s just my perspective on the matter! It seems like there might be some confusion regarding those pesky coronavirus symptoms, though I suppose one could argue that everyone experiences them a little differently depending on their own unique constitution! It’s quite possible that someone might feel a bit under the weather with just a slight fever or perhaps a lingering cough, but then again, you never truly know how it might manifest until it actually happens. I guess we all just have to stay cautious and hope for the best, don't you think?

I can't help but wonder if feeling unwell with just those mild symptoms might be a bit of a convenient excuse, perhaps to dodge the media circus, sponsors, and all those heavy obligations for both this weekend and the next one.

It’s really a toss-up, isn't it? I mean, I can't help but wonder if wiredfalcon2 might actually have a point when he suggests that Lewis won't be taking home the championship title next year. It feels like such a massive question mark, though, doesn't it? Maybe he's right, or maybe we're all just overthinking the whole thing! 😬

The track is short and mostly flat; anyone in that car would have pulled a time just like Russell's.

Jason Campbell70 said:First off, 2021 won't operate under those same regulations.
Second, these rule changes actually play right into Mercedes' hands.

The regulations you’re pointing to have been pushed back to 2022.

2021 will essentially mirror this year, just with minor car modifications, since everyone is already preoccupied with the 2022 overhaul and the shift in regulations.

Not to mention, Ferrari will be debuting an entirely new engine in 2021.

Max wins today. Bottas isn't even capable of a win anymore; maybe Russell will take it. Bottas has mentally checked out this year. He simply can't handle the pressure.

And it’s just not true that anyone could do what Russell is doing. Not a chance. He stepped into a brand-new car with a completely different button layout, an awkward driving position, smaller shoes, and so on. The balance is different, the braking points are different—everything is different compared to Williams. Everything. And he had two or three practice sessions to get used to the machine.

It is perfectly clear at this point: Russell is a better, faster driver than Bottas, and perhaps even on par with Hamilton.

But wait, what does Williams even have right now? Is it Honda or Renault? 😬

I honestly had no idea they had switched up their engine supplier.

By the way, I'm thinking we should all just start calling Russell Cinderella from now on!

stormybadger8 said:We’ve known for ages that math isn't exactly your strong suit, but honestly, it’s wild how blind you people can be. 🤦

Fernando Alonso burned through every single new tire except the hards...
So why on earth would you try to set a fast lap on hards?
It was clearly nonsense to those Sky pundits and the crowd following them instead of using their own eyes and brains... but for anyone actually capable of thinking for themselves, it wasn't. ☕

Anyway, I expect Charles Leclerc to finish somewhere near Sebastian Vettel, if not behind him...
That one lap was fantastic, but everything leading up to it sucked, and his strategy was pure stupidity, regardless of what anyone says...
Because trashing every single tire set might make sense in Monaco, but certainly not here. ☕

Man, you're talking a lot of nonsense there, even for a quote. 🤦

Leclerc used the exact same amount of rubber as his teammate; the only difference is that Vettel couldn't make it into Q3 while Leclerc did, so Leclerc ended up using the ones Vettel would have had left, even though Vettel is starting from 13th.

It’s not like anyone cares, really—the plan is just to go straight to the new hard tires and drive until the end of the Grand Prix. And even if that doesn't work, one fast lap on Soft tires isn't going to change anything against everyone else on fresh rubber. I don't see why anyone would bother pitting an extra time just for one quick lap on softs; I guess that's just your logic.

I’m bracing myself for the wildest race of the season and a few safety cars.
There just isn't enough time or room for anyone to fix those mistakes or mechanical failures once they happen. If we don't get any safety cars, then we'll probably end up with ten virtual ones instead.

I'd actually make a whole new troll account just to reply to this one comment. 🙏🙏
Lewis is clearly living in a complete fantasy land.

Kenneth Cruz67 said:Well, you've certainly piqued my interest now!

It seems to me the old man has a fetish for Ferrari, rather than a true love for Formula 1 itself.

Their real surname might have been something else entirely before they rebranded to Stroll—perhaps they have Jewish roots, and maybe even a distant ancestor from our neck of the woods!

And here are his mother and sister.

They certainly aren't bad looking, I must say! 🍿

Personally, I've been rooting for Stroll ever since I saw his mom...

Anyone seeing any decent action on Speed Trap?

darkmarlin16, a question for you:

Would you attempt a fast lap in Q3 on the hard tire, if those were the only tires left?

He wouldn't just drive them. He’d pull a pole position out of thin air on those tires.

If I had a faster car, then yeah, absolutely. 🤣

Seriously, why on earth are you watching those hacks over at Sky Sports? Are you just as much of a tool as they are?

Tibac, you seem to have forgotten how easily our local banks can just shut us down.

They only banned them in your neck of the woods because they knew you'd be hitting on the waitresses.😬

If you promise to actually behave and ask permission before touching the staff, I'll see if I can get a bar to clear out just for you. Honestly, no big deal...

I don't just watch; I listen to F1 TV Pro sometimes too...
I honestly can't be bothered to sync up the audio from NBC Radio 5 with the video on F1 TV Pro every single time...

Tibac, you've replaced me with the Presvetao one. I'm just trying to let Jesus be my guide, the truth, and the life.🙂

I’m genuinely curious to see how this race plays out.

1. Walter is carrying way too much weight on his shoulders
2. George Russell has a massive opportunity here
3. Max Verstappen is just pure chaos
4. The rest of the grid? We already know how messy things get

Honestly... I’m expecting some Monza-style madness at the finish

1. Perez
2. Ricciardo
3. Gasly

🎉

Hey, someone drop a decent link before we start... if you please. 🍿

What does the button layout on a Teddy Bear have to do with which engine is sitting in a Williams Racing car? 🙄

I wasn't saying Noup wouldn't drive...
He'd still be driving and he'd still have the best car on the grid, but he still wouldn't see a title coming his way...

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen this much collective frustration building up, especially right before a race like this one.🍿
