Guys, I need some advice. I picked up a pre-made sandwich from a deli, and halfway through, I hit this incredibly off-putting taste. It was enough to make me stop and actually inspect what I was eating. Turns out, there was green mold everywhere. Not just a few stray spots, either—there was this thick, greenish-white mycelium right in the middle that I clearly swallowed a good chunk of... 😠

What kind of trouble am I in now?

And honestly, your thread title is absolutely spot on🤣. 🤣 I had a good laugh getting to it
.

I really don't think you have anything to worry about 🤷...

🙂 I’ve completely lost my appetite... I'm officially done buying those greasy deli sandwiches.
Well, it probably isn't anything serious—I mean, you haven't actually eaten much today, have you? 🤷

You aren't going to get anything out of penicillin, lol.

See, I actually thought of that myself.
But then I started wondering: why on earth would I keep bread that’s gone fuzzy?
( Perhaps because I happen to be allergic to penicillin 🙂 )
So, after that realization, I decided to seek some expert advice here on the forums...

You’ll be just fine. It’s honestly wild how much stuff people try to push on you these days...

That actually happened to me once too... I was totally fine, but it really makes you stop and think about all the stuff we buy and everything being sold on the market these days 🙄

There isn't enough Penicillium in there to trigger an allergic reaction. Besides, you actually ate it—there is a massive difference between ingestion and someone injecting it into your muscle.😉

Ugh, seriously, what on earth were you thinking when you bought that product? Just yuck.
I mean, maybe it’ll help with some clarity or give your digestion a little nudge, but honestly? I highly doubt it.

So, if you were stuck at some fancy dinner party you absolutely couldn't skip, and the menu was nothing but a mountain of stinky cheeses—we're talking Gorgonzola, Brie, Camembert, all that good stuff—who would you want sitting there with you?

Basically, you just have to pray to God that it’s actually Penicillium and not, say, Aspergillus flavus... 🙂

Hmm... Aspergillus flavus?
I run the risk of you all merging this thread with my "Am I a hypochondriac?" one, but there’s this persistent pressure in my sinuses... 😕

I’ve been cracking up all morning. I almost didn't open this thread because I knew I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face... but now that I see I'm not the only one laughing, I feel much better. 🤣 😂

Don't sweat it. I know it isn't some high-class, noble mold... just your run-of-the-mill, common stuff. 🤣 But you'll be fine. 🙂

edit:

Hahahahahaha... 🤣 🤣

Relax. If you had actually ingested Aspergillus flavus, you'd be dealing with something completely different... it would have felt like an itch deep inside your sinuses. 😁

I really hope you didn't just toss the thing out. You should have taken some photos of both the unit and the receipt and sent them straight to the manufacturer. I mean, we're talking about a lot of money here, right?

Unless you have an allergy, like I do. But even then, the dose is tiny. You'd have much bigger problems dealing with Salmonella or something similar.

Seriously, people, he actually bit into a moldy sandwich! It’s not even a big deal to him. Though, eventually, everyone might start giving the Montane fridge a wide berth. 😁

I once accidentally ate frozen breaded chicken because I mistook ant eggs for breadcrumbs... 😁 And hey, I'm still here to tell the tale. Even though I'm allergic to ants...

Well, not like a medical emergency kind of allergy... I just can't stand them. 😬

p.s. That title still has me tripping out, and that angry little emoji is just the icing on the cake. 🤣 (Honestly, this is my favorite title since "My boobs, your boobs?" over on the Pets forum 🤣 )

I don't find that funny at all!
Mold can actually be pretty dangerous.
Make sure you're drinking plenty of water and eating lots of fruits and veggies to keep your digestion moving smoothly.
