If anyone deserves a break, it’s Button and Barrichello.☕
Brawn GP is so dominant it’s actually ridiculous. And yet, they still managed to nearly blow the whole thing. Neither of them had a lick of luck out there during the race. Honestly, who knows how that would have ended if things had gone differently.☕
If Sebastian Vettel hadn't screwed up, Button wouldn't have even stood on that podium, let alone Barrichello potentially grabbing any points at all. Instead, Rosberg dropped four spots in just a lap or two.
If Kimi Raikkonen had managed to outpace Jenson Button during qualifying, he would have been sitting right there on pole position.
🙏
What kind of nonsense is this? Button controlled the entire race, maintaining a solid five-second gap from start to finish. Honestly, they nearly blew it all with that ridiculous tire strategy. And even then, one has to wonder: would Robert Kubica have actually caught him and overtaken him during those two laps?
In any given scenario, anyone failing to recognize that Brawn is superior in every single respect is being aggressively biased.

This penalty is pure stupidity. 🙄 I mean, fine, give Red Bull a penalty for driving on three wheels, but handing out penalties for racing incidents? That’s just idiotic. 🙄
Technically, Vettel bears a bit more blame than Kubica, but you can't honestly say he's the sole reason for the mess. If this is how they want to play it, why wasn't Barrichello penalized? He slammed into Kimi, knocked Alonso onto the grass via Heidfeld, and basically turned the start into a demolition derby because he was caught napping. 🙄
If my memory serves, he took out Kovalainen too. At the end of the day, Brawn is built like a tank, 😲 and even Coulthard rarely smashed into people like that on track.
The FIA 👎👎👎
I mean, let’s be realistic here—how am I supposed to penalize drivers just because they had a poor start?

Given this driver lineup, it’s hardly a shock. Today was pure luck. The car is incredible, but these two drivers have zero clue. I hate myself for even saying this, but if Michael Schumacher had been in this cockpit today, he would've lapped the guy behind him by a lap or two, regardless of the SC. This Rubens guy is a total disaster. And honestly, I can't remember the last time I saw such a pathetic second-place finish. Then you've got Button, who looks terrified of his own car—it's like he was driving at half throttle.🤷 Plus, he got lucky with those new SC rules; if things were like last year, he'd be sitting around 7th or 8th.☕
I still don't get that nonsense where everyone had to wait for Button just because he was technically the leader of the lap when the SC came out. He wasn't even on track; he was in the pits. But according to the stats, he was number one since Sebastian Vettel hadn't crossed the start-finish line yet. If it were Button, he probably would've ended up in 7th or 8th after exiting the pits, at least that's how it looks to me.🤷
Does anyone actually have the lap times from just before and after the first SC deployment?🤷
I'm still stuck on why they let the SC pass after Vettel had basically driven a whole lap ahead of it, only to make everyone wait for Button to take the lead.😕
The Safety Car rule works exactly how it's written, and coincidentally, the folks at Brawn know that better than anyone. You really think they would have called Button into the pits if that wasn't the case?
Good grief.
