....then people will inevitably respond to force with force.🙂

What kind of values are you talking about being forced upon you? Seriously—did someone actually try to pressure you into a relationship or force a girl on you or something like that?

Andrew Sanchez572 said:Honestly, when I hear such nonsensical ramblings, it really starts to trigger some rather perverse ideas in my mind. For instance, I could put together a PDF specifically for those forum users who think this kind of rhetoric is acceptable, gather them all from various PDFs, and assign them a moderator just like 🍿
... it would be absolute carnage, I guarantee you

but honestly, you already have Religion 🙄

Nicole James said:I don't really get why you're getting so worked up about our specific thread. The whole concept started right here in the religion section—most people posting here are already part of the religion community anyway—so we’re just sticking to our own topic. We aren't bothering anyone else or spamming different boards... so, honestly, what's the actual issue?

You all are truly going to push me to take this entirely seriously.😲
Nicole James isn't just talking about that one topic... the entire PDF serves as a playground for messing around. Remember... you're the moderator over there.
Now, look at it this way... that particular thread, along with a few others, is actually degrading the quality of the religion sub-forum. We have reached a point where believers who genuinely hold faith in God are being accused of trolling. And frankly, those accusations carry weight. It feels like reactions are being triggered by how persistent someone is or how many times they click certain buttons, rather than looking at things objectively. It doesn't happen every single time, of course, but it happens more often than it should. Just imagine... there's even a suggestion in this thread that believers be given a "faith PDF," since apparently, their beliefs have nothing to do with religion. Why aren't you addressing this? Are you too busy? Does anyone even have the time?🙂
So, tell me... could parents and children open a thread on the PDF about, say, their Pekingese and how she interacts with them and the world? Huh?
In any other context, that would be perfectly polite and normal... it's just that on the religion board, those kinds of topics pass through without a second thought.👎

Here is how it actually went down... more or less...🙂
.......if they used force, then I would too....you've only read the very last part. Isn't that right?
Do you want me to bring up how one forum member, John Doe, was practically humiliated while trying to defend his position? It happened right in that same discussion.
Nicole James... nobody brought that up.👎

Nobody ever said this had anything to do with religion
Don't try to make me believe that someone with over 6,000 posts on this forum needs a remedial course in reading comprehension🙄
The whole point of the suggestion is to stop pretending that atheism counts as a religious stance just because you have some PDF about faith saved on your hard drive
Look, I'm sorry, but faith and organized religion are two completely different animals
And honestly, John Doe is a special case; it really doesn't do you any favors to run to the moderators to complain about someone who is clearly just fueled by spite, especially when you claim to be such a devout believer yourself

it sounds more like he's just terrified his child might actually grow up to be tolerant toward gay people😲
and honestly, I haven't exactly seen any news reports about gay folks throwing Molotov cocktails at believers or telling them they're unnatural or destined for hell... so I'm genuinely curious, what kind of violence are you even talking about here?

Look... heaven forbid anyone ever tried to influence my child toward homosexual acts... I’d react instantly if that were the case.
Does that count as hate speech?

On a different note... they don't bother me. They should just live their lives and let us live ours.

Basically, what you're trying to say is we need more moderators, right?
Personally, I don't have any issue with it—even if the religion section ends up having 15 mods (or whatever other group needs them) if it actually helps things run smoother.

First off, nobody—not you and certainly not your kid—is being pressured into becoming gay by anyone else here.
And that second part about wanting to kill someone? That’s exactly the kind of thing people like you do; it’s not an insult, it’s just that you won't let people live their lives normally. 🤷
I mean, seriously, what kind of religion teaches that killing is okay?
And yeah, calling it hate speech? It totally is.
Honestly, I really wonder if someone who can talk about killing without even hesitating can actually be considered sane... I'm not talking about you specifically, but more about John Doe.🤔

I’m done debating homosexuality... it's simply not the topic at hand.🙂
My perspective as a parent is perfectly clear. If I were ever forced to choose, I would always prioritize my child's life over that of an attacker, even if that person were my own.
But then again, that is the standard stance for most parents... I fail to see how homosexuality relates to that principle at all?
I told you, I'm just not interested... much like how I have zero interest in the private lives of my neighbors... provided they stay away from my children.
Is that clear enough?
And if I had to kill to defend my child? Absolutely. Whether it were an animal or a person, there would be no hesitation.

That isn't what we call hate speech—it's more like paranoia mixed with acute homophobia. People just want to live their own lives and be treated as equals, yet you seem to view that as some sort of grand conspiracy to take over the world, indoctrinate your children, or whatever else you imagine is happening...

It’s honestly sad...

Nicole James... look, I really don't care about your dietary preferences or your personal life.🙂
If someone tried to force me to eat kale instead of steak, I’d consider it my civic duty to revolt...🙂 if you were to forcibly impose kale as a standard substitute for meat, I wouldn't feel obligated to just roll over and accept it.
John Doe put it this way. It's funny how they immediately resort to painting someone as a bully when they're challenged.👎

How exactly is this thread degrading the forum? Seriously—I’m struggling to see how a discussion involving twenty different people, all focused on how to better promote tolerance toward our own religious beliefs, could possibly degrade a forum dedicated to religion.

it really isn't all that bad... 🙂
speaking from my own perspective, since I tend to write most frequently regarding Satanism, ever since we launched the new thread, things have been quite wonderful... 👍 the moderators are cooperating beautifully; there aren't any clumsy outbursts or provocations, or rather, they are kept to an absolute minimum.
I occasionally glance at other topics, but since they are almost entirely focused on Christianity or atheism versus Christianity, they don't particularly capture my interest...
in truth, aside from those few heated ones, the rest are functioning quite smoothly indeed.

No... he actually threatened that he'd go out in the middle of the night and take out every single chard vendor in town...

The real issue here is that you're treating someone simply expressing an opinion as if it were a physical threat to life, but it isn't...... if your kid turns 18 and someone asks them if they want to go to bed together, that isn't some kind of endangerment, let alone a threat to their actual life.
Regardless of whether it comes from gay people or anyone else.🤷
You're just being intolerant toward anything that's different from your own worldview.
That's just my take on it, and I truly mean that as an observation, not an insult.😉
Honestly, this whole topic should probably be locked away.🤷

The topic itself isn't inherently bad, but its place is within the religion section, much like how a discussion about, say... any specific political organization would be placed elsewhere.

rowdyhawk10... just being appointed as a moderator isn't enough.🙂 Honestly, we really should have stepped in to prevent this ages ago—it’s reached a point now where it’s incredibly difficult to even begin fixing.👎
Honestly, isn't the current moderator count already more than enough? I mean, seriously—why not just recruit another five or ten people to fill out the ranks... I don't know exactly how many it would take at this point... you might as well just call in the media. At this rate, a news crew could probably handle the whole job by themselves.😍steelskipper5🙂 But honestly, you really have to make an effort to actually read through the threads. 🙂
Look, here’s the reality of the situation—this forum isn't our private property, and we can't just go around appointing whoever we want whenever we feel like it. While I agree that active moderation is absolutely necessary, let's be honest: it isn't always feasible. For instance, when I have a major exam at the university in three days, I’m not going to spend my entire day sitting there scrolling through endless pages of threads—I'll probably just glance over the reports during a quick break and react to what needs attention. Beyond that, the whole idea of an all-seeing, omnipotent moderator is becoming increasingly unrealistic as this community grows. The forum is simply getting too massive for a handful of people to monitor every single detail effectively. What we actually need is a solid foundation of dedicated members—people who truly care about this place—who will work alongside the moderators. Whether it's by filing reports, steering discussions in the right direction, or just ignoring the trolls, we need everyone to cooperate to keep the forum readable and, frankly, a decent place to hang out.

Nicole James🙂 I know you've put a lot of heart into this. I hope you continue to do so. And the same goes for rowdyhawk10.
It’s clear to me that you can't carry the whole load yourselves. There is just too much happening.
To maintain quality moderation and make these pages worth visiting, we need more people like you. We need growth so the environment becomes even better for all of us.
. You know perfectly well that PDF files have essentially become a playground for mockery.👎 Even certain topics being posted there just don't belong.🙄

Nicole James really nailed the perspective here
it isn't even about having more moderators running around handing out warnings or bans, though that’s always an option, it’s more about the fact that if you actually want to have a decent conversation in a specific subforum, you should probably put in a little effort to make sure that space is actually worth hanging out in and comfortable for everyone involved
