Hello

For several months now, I have been experiencing strange chest pains when I try to nap during the day. It isn't exactly an ache, but rather a sensation of suffocation and burning, almost as if my lungs were running a high fever. The pressure is quite intense.

Furthermore, breathing feels labored during the day; I can only take shallow breaths, and I have to strain myself just to get a full inhalation.

The same thing happens at night when I lie down to sleep—I struggle to breathe and feel suffocated.

At times, it even feels as though I might swallow my own tongue.

Does anyone have any words of comfort or advice?
I am currently caught up in a busy schedule and haven't had the chance to see a doctor yet.

P.S.

I smoke a pack a day, though it doesn't seem to bother my roommate. 🤷
