1. That whole 'Crisis' topic really should have been pulled down immediately.
It was nothing but pure provocation, especially seeing how everyone on the 'Petokarka' thread seems to view her as a criminal.
Honestly, joking around with a subject that heavy feels like bottom-of-the-barrel behavior.

2. Look, that doesn't mean I don't think Our Revkica and Alba are working together on this...
They might just be trying to farm some clout by having Alba act like some foreign moderator. (Such a deeply pious leftist, right? 🙄 )

3. Fine, call me an illiterate mod then. I’m also pretty much leaning toward taking bribes for certain forum services. 😁

What was Our Revkica like before she had those bad experiences with pop songs and started acting like a Petokarka? ...

driftingdriver said:- So, I’m the idiot. Thanks for the compliment and the respect shown to your interlocutor. Since you clearly possess such immense wisdom, shouldn't you be able to grasp the point and respond with a few punchy sentences without preaching? Especially when you hold yourself in such self-proclaimed superiority over us "inferior" amateurs who apparently have absolutely no clue about politics, neither in our writings nor our thoughts.

- It seems to you that anyone not perfectly aligned with your grand intellect is a lower life form—some kind of exotic animal with four left legs instead of right ones. You lump those who lurk in the shadows and cause trouble in with yourself, and honestly, I don't see much difference between you and them; you just deliver your critiques through a soap opera rather than a single sentence.

Oh, thanks for clearing that up; I guess there’s always something new to learn here when dealing with the Attorney General.
....

It feels like an unnecessary article; you could have just delivered the verdict without all these arguments by simply attaching the next piece right under that sentence.

- The topic wasn't titled that way, nor was it framed that way in the introduction. And since every Yin has its Yang, you wouldn't have anything to do here on Reddit without an opponent like Revka or others like her on the opposite side.

- Are people just experiments to you? 😁 Facts, pure and simple. It's typical of professional politicians who have never even flipped a burger in their lives; a rant without facts is just a glaring example of demagoguery. Where exactly am I declaring myself "sancta sanctorum," and through what actions or words?

- It’s a certainty that the average person here is significantly deprived by not reading your esteemed columns. I can't help but get the impression that you should probably just start your own blog instead of attempting what passes for conversation.

True conversation requires both speaking and listening. Unfortunately, in our current reality, people spend 90% of their time talking and only 10% listening. For a real dialogue to happen, you need a fifty-fifty split, but even that isn't enough if rational listening and an empathetic understanding of the words being spoken fail to actually reach the listener. In such cases, even a "conversation" remains nothing more than two people talking at each other. But what can we truly expect when we live in a culture where there is such a deep-seated, historical obsession with dictating, dictating, and dictating...

🤣🤣 so what is actually the point of a forum, or rather, forum debates?
Is it maybe that nonsense you were rambling about this past summer over in Politics: "let's all introduce ourselves—I collect postage stamps and keep cat litter on my balcony. there you go, my dear friends"

🙂I told you back in the summer, this IS NOT A DATING PAGE AND THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL CAMPFIRE CHAT WHERE PEOPLE JUST BABBLE WHILE OTHERS GATHER AROUND TO ABSORB AND MEMORIZE!

THIS IS A FORUM. For crying out loud. And you knew that too, because at the start of your "moderation," you used to CALL FOR UNIFIED OPINION in certain threads.😂

If I weren't feeling so lazy, I could find those posts for you right now. Just tone it down a bit; lately, you've been posting some truly incredible nonsense.
Raise your hand if you agree.👋

It’s somewhat curious, isn't it? Those who tend to be the most aggressive and vocal are often the very same people who stood firmly against the topic of introductions; one can't help but wonder what exactly drives that kind of resistance. ☕
Just because a conversation is high-quality doesn't necessarily mean it has to be heated, does it?
Where on earth did you get the idea that I belong to some group of political mods who are obsessed with keeping every single discussion sterile?
An angry debate can be incredibly intense, yet somehow, it often turns out to be exceptionally high quality.
It’s become quite common to see people who find themselves unable to defend their position—or perhaps they simply lack the ability to impose it—resort to cheap shots, subtle jabs, and outright insults. When someone starts reaching for those kinds of tactics, it becomes clear that they aren't actually interested in the debate anymore. It’s just typical childish behavior, isn't it? Honestly, it feels incredibly infantile.
Maybe there’s some truth to the idea that when it comes to online arguments, we really are just like everyone else in the States.

Sarah Wilson95 As if anyone actually believes that?
Look, this is a forum. You knew that from the start, didn't you? Even back in certain threads—right at the beginning of your stint as a moderator—you were already calling for everyone to just fall in line and adopt a single, unified opinion.😂

If I weren't feeling so lazy, I would have tracked that down for you by now. Honestly, maybe take a step back for a second? Lately, you've just been posting these absolute nonsensical ramblings.
Put your hands up. 👋

Go ahead and find that topic. 😬 You’re the exact same person who accused me of things I never actually said back when I wasn't a moderator. After mistycyclist5 was thoroughly investigated, it turned out it wasn't me at all—a fact I insisted on until the truth came out. And then, to my absolute shock, you actually offered an apology. I have to give you credit for that; it takes something to admit when you're wrong. But just a word of advice: let's make sure we don't find ourselves in this exact same situation again. ☕
And why on earth do you think anyone is going to grasp your point any better if you just scream it at them in all caps? 😁
Look, I didn't even step on the gas myself; it's everyone else doing the accelerating while I'm just here responding to the meals provided. Nothing more, nothing less.

Did you write post 51 too?🤣 😁
And all of this follows that little copy-paste manifesto about culture and toddlers, doesn't it?

I honestly have no clue what the topic was; I really can't remember if it was sometime this summer, but it was genuinely hilarious when you tried to appeal 😍 to unity...

As for me apologizing to you—was that you? 😲—it was only because I truly mistook you for someone else or was just glancing at usernames too quickly. Honestly, what does that even have to do with anything right now? 😕

It’s interesting how the ones who act the "toughest" were actually the most opposed to threads about introductions; I wonder why that is. ☕

The reason is simple: we deal with viewpoints here, not people's titles, hobbies, or personal habits. That’s why I told you that this isn't some dating site. This forum is NOT a place to meet people; it’s a place to exchange ideas, perspectives, and information. It seems like you’re having a bit of trouble grasping that, though you can actually learn a massive amount about a person just through the exchange of those very views and opinions.

Besides, my identity was outed here a few years ago. There wasn't just one instance of subtle hints or blatant leaking of my personal data—about ME as a real human being, you know? 🤣

So, let me follow up on your point from post 51: you can clearly tell whether my actual life and the chatter here 😂 are different. 👍

What makes you think I belong to that group of politics mods who want everything to be a sterile discussion?

The truth is, you don't want a sterile discussion; you simply don't want any discussion at all.

How could you say that? It’s pretty obvious I’ve basically moved into the Attorney General's office, constantly debating and throwing my two cents in here. At this rate, I'll be completely addicted to the Attorney General before long. 😬

Sarah Wilson95 said:🙄 driftingdriver, aren't you overreacting just a little bit with all of this?

First off, you're well aware that for days now, people in the Politics section have been debating the banning of symbols, arguing that people were killed under the guise of all those different emblems. This often leads to a pathological kind of relativism or attempts at relativizing history—which is a recurring issue in our political discussions—specifically regarding how certain symbols were used during violent eras. In that context, someone started this thread which could essentially be summarized as, "Sure, but they killed people in the name of the cross, too."

So, how did you react?
What was your move?
Why are you forcing your viewpoint on everyone?
Why are you practicing censorship?
Is this platform meant to be a gathering for Christian fundamentalists?
Are you truly certain you understood the core of the topic, or perhaps you could have simply closed the thread or moved it to the Lounge without all this drama and sentimental language about your own empathy for that famous 90%?

I am a Christian, and I won't let 10% of people like you trample all over what is sacred to me. So, here we are...

What does it matter to me what you consider sacred? If I claim the swastika and Hitler are sacred, does that mean you aren't allowed to criticize them? Get it together...☕
An actual reasoned discussion isn't "stomping and insulting"...

There is no such thing as a "reasoned debate" regarding the symbolism of the cross. Period. 🙂
A loud minority isn't going to silence a massive majority. We saw enough of that back in America.
And if you don't like how things work here, go live in an agnostic country... oops, turns out those don't exist.

No, they don't exist—what exists are secular states. The US is a secular state. Vatican City is "Catholic."
It's pretty obvious who should pack their bags if they're bothered by discussions regarding the cross (discussions, mind you, not insulting anyone or forbidding belief)...☕

So, based on what? What’s the endgame here? Are you suggesting we set up some kind of internment camps for anyone who doesn't see things through your specific lens? It seems to me you just want to completely shut down any meaningful discussion regarding the cross—its symbolism, its history, or even the crimes committed under its banner. Honestly, that makes you nothing more than a standard advocate for censorship, no different from that loud minority you mentioned from the former America era... it's not a great look, really. I suspect any free thinker would feel a sudden urge to leave a 🤮 on a comment like this...

I couldn't agree more... they love to preach against dictatorship and talk about how they "fought" for democracy, yet it seems like they don't even grasp the fundamental concept of 🤮

There is seriously something wrong with this driftingdriver guy—the politics mod. A user named Constantin was banned just for starting this thread: , while this user west_HB—who spends the entire time calling Constantin names and is basically obsessed with being toxic—hasn't even received a single warning, despite his posts being consistently reported!

That PDF makes my skin crawl, so I usually avoid that section entirely; now, I've been reminded once again why.

*Controversial posts:

It’s because Constantinopol deliberately pushes these provocative topics, constantly trolling and playing dumb while dancing right on the edge of what's allowed, which inevitably leads others to pick fights and rack up warnings on his posts. And honestly, it just keeps happening. There was actually a noticeable uptick after that last topic you reported.

I reached out to the admin to request a permanent ban for him over on the Politics sub. He’s been permanently banned from Politics now.

Punishing other users in that specific topic is essentially pointless. If the topic wasn't designed to be incredibly biased with the sole intention of inciting and provoking people, those reactions wouldn't be happening in the first place.

So, what you're saying is that blatant insults—like the ones I linked—are perfectly fine as long as the topic was designed to be provocative? 😕 Where exactly does it say that in the forum rules? And how am I supposed to tell if a topic was set up specifically to bait people, just so I know whether I can insult them without getting banned? If I do get a strike, am I allowed to just claim I was provoked to get it removed?

driftingdriver, I have to say, I strongly disagree with you on this one!!
Insulting people just isn't okay, no matter what the context might be.
I honestly have no idea who or what this "Constantinople" character is supposed to be, but frankly, the posts being linked here are absolutely bottom-of-the-barrel.
Sure, a topic can be framed in a biased way or even set up by trolls, but we simply cannot—and should not—allow personal attacks to slide.
If anything, we've seen threads like this before where the users actually used their brains to steer the conversation back toward something sensible.

- This isn't actually the first time this has happened. Constantinopol has opened plenty of other threads just like this one. In the past, others were handed bans because of him—including some I personally handed out. He always found a way to wiggle out of trouble, didn't he? Well, he’s finally reached his limit, and he won't be able to participate in any more politics here.
- I have no issue with whoever wants to hand out bans on this topic, but I refuse to punish people who were simply provoked by a troll. The only reason this thread is still visible is because of this specific complaint. I decided to delete it after the discussion here concluded; otherwise, instead of just this complaint, the entire topic would have been wiped clean.
- If any of the supermods or admins wants to issue a ban, go ahead, but if you don't, the entire topic will be deleted by the end of the day.

Look, I’m not about to go around handing out bans on someone else's subreddits, but I firmly believe that every single user is solely responsible for what they post.
That goes for Constantinopolov too—they should answer for their own words, just as any other user here should be held accountable for their own posts when they choose to act a certain way.
At the end of the day, we're all human beings, and we have to have some level of empathy; occasionally, someone is going to slip up or miss the mark, purely from a human perspective and in the spirit of keeping the discussion policy healthy.
Speaking of which, I’ve got my own hands full with my son, so I find myself being a bit too lenient from time to time, even when compared to my own usual standards.
But, in my humble opinion, direct insults really ought to be removed, if they aren't outright sanctioned.

Topic deleted. Sash, I think I finally grasped your point, and honestly, I’m on the same page. But at the same time, I felt like we were handing out way too many warnings to people who were just being constantly poked and prodded. That’s why I decided to just nip the problem in the bud by issuing a permanent ban to the one person who seems to trigger these fights every single time.
