This is Anthony:
He’s eight years old and living with cerebral palsy. He doesn't speak, sit, walk, or eat solid food.
His mother is one of our own community members, cosy.
Since both parents lost their jobs, the family is relying entirely on Anthony's disability benefits and the caregiver assistance they receive.
Despite the crushing financial strain and the medical hurdles, they haven't given up—not even for a second. They take him to various therapy sessions, physical exercises, equine therapy, and things like that. And honestly, the progress is there; he used to be unable to sit at all, just lying there, but now he can actually sit up with some support.
The women from the Cosmetics subforum, who have been following his journey for a while now, have already managed to raise funds through donations to get him a wheelchair and a laptop.
Up until this point, Anthony's only way of communicating with the world has been through his eyes.
Now, there is finally an opportunity to get him specialized software that would make communication much easier for him. We are looking at this specific program, which costs about $1733 at Algorithm.
We are going to start a thread over on the Cosmetics forum featuring a sort of auction for various beauty products, where all proceeds will go directly into Anthony's account to fund this software. We are hoping to raise a significant amount, because, let's face it, this child needs so much more than just a computer program.
