Look, just because something gets trashed online doesn't mean you personally won't enjoy it.😉

It’s honestly quite satisfying to read all the trash being written about it on IMDb. 🙂

Charles Jones76 said:You can find everything Dragon Ball related right here, excluding that one movie of course. If you're looking for the DBZ widescreen version, that's the remastered and Uncut set... it’s a relatively recent release with eight seasons out so far, though the ninth should be hitting the scene by this summer...

Thanks so much! 👍

What an absolute train wreck of a movie... It feels like sitting through some low-budget, bootleg version of Mortal Kombat 2, except the acting is even more painful to watch than that.🙂 They honestly ought to face a massive lawsuit for this.🙂

If anyone’s looking to get their hands on the Dragon Ball collection—specifically the DBZ Digitally Remastered, widescreen versions with all three audio tracks, plus the Uncut editions and all the Movies & Specials—just shoot me a PM, I guess.

I mean, you really ought to sit down and watch the movie in person first, just so you can make up your own mind about whether it actually holds up or not.

The movie was a total letdown. I watched it, and honestly, if you’re a real fan, just skip it. Justin and everyone else didn't even come close to nailing their characters. Giving it a 2/10 only because I can't give it a 1.
All the series and movies are over at www.watch-dragonball.com

So, when is this thing actually hitting theaters here in the States?

I mean, there’s zero word on it anywhere, no announcements, nothing at all...

It hit US theaters at the end of March, but I have no clue about our schedule.
Check the AMC Theatres website.

It’s available to grab via BitTorrent... I already downloaded it—I'll save it for tomorrow and finally give it a watch.

Based on what I'm seeing over on IMDb, this movie looks like a total train wreck. Honestly, nothing can ever really top the classics when it comes to animation anyway. 😉

And yeah, I always make sure to check the ratings on IMDb before I even think about grabbing a BitTorrent download.

It was supposed to be playing in early April, but...

Because the reviews were absolutely brutal and the overall quality was just so poor, they pulled it from AMC Theatres and decided it would only be released straight to DVD

... I am not even kidding!

Honestly, it’s a smart move if you ask me. ☕

If you’re a huge Smallville fan, then by all means, go see the movie. But let's be clear: this film has absolutely nothing to do with Dragon Ball. Honestly, I think anyone claiming to be a fan of this project should come up with a different name for it entirely. It actually hurts my feelings a little to hear people spitting on the name Dragon Ball when there isn't even a connection there.

Honestly, the movie is just solid. I don't really get why all the fans are complaining so much...
Maybe the plot doesn't follow the cartoon beat-for-beat, but pretty much all the core elements and the way the story unfolds are right there (yeah, including the Kamehameha and that final fight).
Not to spoil too much, but while the fight choreography could have been a bit sharper, the special effects are actually pretty decent overall.

The special effects are a total disaster. Honestly, just take a look at this amateur fan film for Dragonball Z http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztlFB...eature=related—it’s actually crafted MUCH better than this Hollywood garbage

For the amateurs out there, the effects at this link are a decent bit of fun, though they aren't necessarily an upgrade over the movie. You won't see those specific styles in the film because that takes place before the era of Dragonball Z, back when those kinds of stunts weren't even a thing yet.

The film actually did a solid job showcasing its own visual effects. My only real gripe was that the character didn't actually transform into a giant ape; he just turned into some guy in a costume. 😁

Personally, I think the effects in this clip are actually an improvement! The only things missing the mark are the setting, the actors' looks, and the costumes. It’s just a shame, because in the original Dragonball, they were flying everywhere, slamming into the ground, and unleashing blasts exactly like these.

I have no idea which version of Dragonball you were watching, but Goku relied on the Flying Nimbus to get around. As for that final tournament, I don't remember anyone flying then either.
Plus, chronologically speaking, that tournament takes place after the events of this movie.

I wasn't talking about true flight, but he could definitely leap a hundred feet into the air! Besides, Piccolo could fly, so there was plenty of action happening mid-air.

If they ever decide to greenlight a sequel, we might see all that stuff play out here too.

The only thing I can't wrap my head around is why the movie was so short.

God forbid they actually greenlight a sequel...
