Big images will shrink down to fit this post box once they load, so they won't stretch the page out everywhere.

That's it! πŸ™

Any chance we can get this added to the forum?

It might be doable if someone can find a specific mod or a custom hack, given how many of those exist for vBulletin. I just have my doubts about whether the admins would actually bother installing something like that, assuming such a thing even exists 🀷

Then just drop the link here or pass it along to the admins directly. πŸ™‚

They already knowβ€”they just don't care, they're too lazy, or they simply lack the resources to deal with it... honestly, they couldn't give a damn if they tried.πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

I’m all for this proposal and I agree. Send over the link. 😍

Just a heads-up, though: I don't actually have the permissions to add mods myself. Like you, I can only submit a suggestion. Whether or not it actually gets implemented isn't up to me. 🀷

That would fall under the system admin's jurisdiction, wouldn't it? Integrating a new mod usually requires tweaking the underlying forum scripts, which is a level of access standard administrators just don't carry. I know from experience having managed some modifications on another forumβ€”some are as simple as a quick fix, while others are incredibly complex to get running smoothly. πŸ™‚

Exactly. I don't have any access to the server, the files, or the database. Any kind of Bilokakav mod is completely out of my hands. 😒

I spent half a minute just hunting him down.

Nice work tracking that down. πŸ™ That image resizer was designed for version 3.6.0, whereas this forum is currently running on 3.6.8, so there might be some compatibility hiccups along the way, but it probably won't be much of an issue. πŸ‘

I mean, I get it. Anyone with FTP access to the server can just upload their own modifications whenever they feel like it. But honestly, why does it even matter to you? At least you're still running the show on the forum. 😍

Take a quick scroll through this thread, and you'll see it works perfectly fine on version 3.7 too.

It would be pretty helpful if...

I spend way too much time hunting down some massive, ultra-high-res imageβ€”we’re talking astronomical file sizes hereβ€”only to post it on the forum and get hit with a moderator warning🀷
But if I try to resize it first? Well, then I have to download it, open it up, tweak it, and then re-upload everything. It feels like it takes three lifetimes just to get one shot posted🀷 Honestly, I lose all motivation

That’s true, but since everyone is busy complaining about bugs or compatibility issues with Firefox, things get messy... (Full disclosure: I actually run the admin side for a test vBulletin forum running 3.6.8), and this particular fix is every bit as useful as what goldentrucker11 suggested earlier.πŸ™‚

Everyone? Don't you think you're blowing this way out of proportion?

Show me just one person who claims they're having issues with version 3.6.8.

I've noticed this specific guy tends to bend over backward to please everyone in this thread, and look at what he's saying: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showp...&postcount=754

And I won't even get started on the fact that I've actually seen and used this mod without a single hitch on a vBulletin forum I'm a member ofβ€”the version is slightly older than 3.6.8, sure, but it's definitely higher than 3.6.0.πŸ˜‰

Let's clear things up. In my last post, I wasn't saying it doesn't work on 3.6.8; rather, based on those dozen or so posts I read in the link you shared, I was noting that the version is buggy and that users reported the mod failing to show up in Opera or Mozilla Firefox.
You misunderstood me. Since I haven't installed the mod on my own vB setup, I can't personally vouch for its stability or specific bugs, but we should stick to the fact that it does function on this version of vB. πŸ™‚

Wait, which version are we actually talking about here?!😁

I was just saying that it works even on version 3.7β€”so there's no way it won't run on 3.6.X...

Version 3.6.8. 😁

Fair enough. I'm glad to hear that. If a person is... Right here. He mentioned he's running version 3.6.8, which makes sense; when you're dealing with someone who actually writes code for a living, they generally know exactly what they're talking about, and I’m glad we're finally on the same page. πŸ™‚

The main thing is that we all reached an agreement.😬

Based on how things have gone so far, I’m guessing we won't see any actual proposals coming from them...πŸ™
