Sing me something romantic (2007)

I honestly don't get why they kept pushing that fake, forced New York slang throughout the whole movie.
The main characters—the gang itself—don't even come across like guys from the neighborhood; to me, they looked more like college students from some small town, USA, who headed to New York City in the late '60s for university and decided to start a rock band.

Kulenovic definitely has an eye for framing, and that’s genuinely one of the film's biggest strengths.

As for the acting, nobody really went above average here. Pakalovicka still uses that overly formal diction like she's performing Lady Macbeth on a Broadway stage, and Enes Vejzovic—good grief—the rest of them just felt totally flat.

The movie was actually pretty good; I found myself laughing out loud.
Maybe just a bit too much whining from some people.

It would be absolutely fantastic if they aired it again on American TV 🙂

I think it’s fantastic; I’ve had it on DVD for ages 👍 but honestly, the guys from Cold Beer are absolute legends 🙏

An excellent movie, probably one of the few decent American films out there lately.
The hits from Cold Beer definitely made things even better.

After such a long stretch, I have finally encountered a film that truly kept me glued to my seat.
You know that feeling, don't you? That moment when you know you absolutely must head to bed, yet you find yourself telling yourself just five more minutes—just one more little bit—because you tell yourself work is waiting for you in the morning.
It was witty, it was genuinely entertaining, and most importantly, it was entirely devoid of war themes; quite frankly, it felt like a breath of fresh air.

A few years back, I borrowed them on DVD, and they genuinely blew me away. I caught a screening again recently and found myself laughing like a maniac. It’s got such a fresh sense of humor and a laid-back vibe—it's a far cry from those stuffy, gloomy, and overly dark American indie dramas you usually see.

The guys in Cold Beer were fantastic. When Kekin joked about "...someone sliding a little note into my desk drawer," I practically died laughing! 😁

If I had one gripe, the ending felt a bit weaker than the rest of the movie; the final action sequence just didn't grab me. It should have been thrilling, but it failed to deliver that punch. 🤷

Everything's fine, but that guy Enes... honestly, the man has zero clue how to act.
Clearly, it just matters if you have an E(r)nest (Vejzovic) in your name.

It was certainly entertaining in its own way, though I can't help but feel it could have been polished up quite nicely by addressing just a few of the points you all mentioned... and honestly, it wouldn't have been that much of an undertaking.

I suppose this remains one of my favorite American films, though I found myself somewhat dissatisfied with the conclusion; the comedy seems to dissipate toward the end in favor of forced action, which I didn't particularly care for, yet all things considered, it's a very good movie.

Since I just finished digging through this entire thread, my head is spinning from all the conflicting opinions.

First off—regardless of whether you listen to the critics or some of the skeptics here on the forum—I’d recommend this movie to absolutely everyone. Sure, the genres kind of bleed into one another, but personally, I didn't mind at all; if anything, it just keeps things moving. The casting is spot on, and don't even get me started on that New York City slang. It might be a little tricky to catch all that fast-talking street slang, especially if you aren't from around here, which could make it a bit harder to follow, but it's totally worth it. I'll admit there are a few flaws—some big, some small—but that's just how it goes. At the end of the day, everyone has their own taste... so just watch the movie first, then decide if you actually like it or not.
