It’s been a while since I sat down to watch that movie, but man, it really is such a good one. 🙏 I was curious to hear what you all think about the film, about Brandon and everything... For me, it’s absolutely incredible, if not a little heartbreaking. Does anyone know the exact details of how Brandon passed away during filming? Let me know what you think...

The spit was actually full of real bullets—total prop department blunder—and, well... I just love the movie, it’s got such a great... gothic vibe...

...honestly, the only thing I actually dig is the soundtrack from that movie... it's just so 🙂

The original is top-tier, but I haven't touched the sequels.
Should I bother watching them? Word on the street is they aren't exactly anything to write home about.🙄.

Hands down, it’s the best movie ever made from a comic book, right up there with Batman... I just love everything about it... Brandon, the whole vibe, all of it. 🙂

So, the big question: should you actually watch the sequels? It’s been ages since I saw them, so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but honestly, I don't think they were all that great. The original is definitely the best one...

Personally, I’m much more of a fan of City of Angels—you know, that specific version where the father is there to sanctify his son. That one just hits differently for me; it's easily my favorite!🙏

City of Angels... Vincent Perez... Honestly, it’s the first and best sequel... And then there's Brandon Lee, who took three live rounds from just two guns... I guess they finished the film using scenes that were originally meant to be cut—all thanks to some serious work by the editors... It seems like a total classic already, if you ask me.

I suppose, considering the genre, I find the film quite compelling—though I have this habit of trying to look past the performance to find the actor underneath. I want to see the man behind the mask, what he truly stands for, and what he actually believes in... only then does Eric Draven truly feel complete. The idea of a soul returning from the Underworld to right a wrong is fascinating, even if the path taken is inherently flawed—one crime inevitably triggering another, much like a chain of lies. Yet, at its core, the primary driver is faith. A belief that through love and a singular desire for vengeance, even the seemingly impossible can occur.😳

I was actually just about to start a new thread about this movie, but I see someone beat me to it. I’ve seen plenty of phenomenal films over the years, but this is the one where I honestly lose track of how many times I've watched it. It's tough because if I had to pick my absolute favorite, I think I'd have to vote for this one. A huge part of that is the irreplaceable Brandon Lee combined with Alex Proyas' direction—they both truly knocked it out of the park. Plus, everything from the soundtrack to the script works together perfectly to make the whole thing a masterpiece. My only gripe is how much the subpar sequels drag down the legacy; while City of Angels is still decent enough, the third and fourth installments are just plain bad. Still, the original with Brandon remains, in my eyes, a genuine masterpiece.

The second one is... well... passable, but the third is absolute garbage, so I didn't even bother trying to get through the fourth.

I haven't seen this series... and honestly, under no circumstances should you watch the fourth installment. Consider yourself lucky to be among those who haven't wasted time on that trash. To this day, I truly cannot fathom how David Boreanaz (from the Angel series) and Edward Furlong were ever convinced to act in such junk.😲😲

He was even on the News on TV recently, though I didn't catch the broadcast. 😬
I actually went out looking to pick up the DVD [$16] because I really wanted the first movie on disc—it’s supposed to include both the first and fourth installments 😬—but some idiot at the local shop couldn't even scan the barcode. They just stood there fumbling around with it, and since it was the last one they had in stock... they ended up refusing to sell it to me. 😠 Total morons. 🙄

Honestly, if they had just bundled the first one with the second installment, I would have snatched it up immediately, but including that fourth one instead made me lose interest... besides, I already have the special edition CD from the Evening News, so there wasn't much point anyway...

Man, the first one is absolute perfection. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve rewatched it, and I even have the soundtrack at home—which, let's be honest, is just as legendary as the movie itself. As for the sequels, I actually sat through the first one, and while it wasn't a total disaster, there is zero comparison to the original masterpiece. Honestly, I didn't even bother looking at those other pieces of crap... The TV series wasn't half bad, though; if I remember correctly, it was airing on News on TV, starring Marc Dacascos. I used to follow it religiously. I mean, obviously, it doesn't come anywhere close to the cinematic greatness of the film, but all things considered, it was just okay.

Well, I ran into that DVD again today and ended up buying it anyway. It’s strictly for the first film. 🎉I definitely agree that it would have been way better if they had just paired the first and second movies together.

I think we can all agree that The Crow is one of the greatest films ever made. It’s not just brilliantly crafted—it hits every note perfectly, from the genre vibes to the core theme. That whole idea that true love lives forever... it's just powerful.
I honestly feel Brandon Lee was perfect in the role, and what happened to him was just beyond tragic.
Btw, just a quick correction. He didn't take three hits, just one real bullet. And because of that "accident," there are much stricter safety protocols on sets now (like more rigorous footage reviews and stuff).
It might sound a bit heavy, but his death actually helped shape how movies are made today.
