Back in 2006, it’s like they already knew that by 2020, the USA would be halfway through the exact plot of that film.
The characters in the movie were pretty mild, so they basically just delayed the total insanity by a few years, but if you ask me, we're going to hit that breaking point way sooner.

Those are just empty generalizations. The world hasn't fundamentally changed; only our technology and culture have evolved. There have always been fools and there have always been sane people, but in the past, we only focus on the outliers that survived the filter of history. Most of today's idiots will likely just be forgotten by time once they're gone...

Even so, it still leans into being intentionally ridiculous trash and doesn't really predict anything. It was filmed back in 2006, during that specific era when everyone was first starting to get completely numbed by technology, making it a true product of its time...

Some low-level idiot from back in 2021 is out here developing massive inferiority complexes toward actual intellectuals—people who spend their lives writing books and poetry—just to moan about Mens on half the internet... instead of using that precious time to create meaningful art or, I don't know, finding a cure for Chronov disease. It’s pathetic, really. And yet, looking at the state of things, that movie was spot on—the world really has become an Idiocracy...

Look, this isn't for everyone, but personally? I thought it was a brilliant mix of comedy and documentary.

I'm right along with this comment, honestly. There isn't a single visionary bone in this entire argument. Fools have existed since the dawn of time and they'll keep existing, and every era seems to produce its own special brand of moron (who usually end up being swept away by the tides of history). As for the movie itself, it’s easily one of the worst comedies I’ve ever sat through—just endless sweeping statements paired with incredibly shallow, low-brow humor. You might catch a fleeting moment of actual fun here or there, maybe even a decent joke, but the rest of it is 👎 👎
