I recently stumbled upon a truly wonderful remedy for breakouts, and I simply felt compelled to share this little victory with you all.

It all started when I came across some information suggesting that tea tree oil can be quite effective at treating blemishes, which sparked a bit of an experimental idea in my mind. I decided to purchase some pure essential oil and concocted my own homemade toner to apply before my moisturizer. Speaking of which, the moisturizer itself actually contains tea tree oil—it’s an AOK brand product I picked up at Walmart for $9.75. I have been using that specific cream for quite some time now, though I must admit my breakouts never really subsided using just the cream alone; however, I am fairly certain the results would be similar regardless of which gentle, hydrating moisturizer one chooses to pair it with.

To give you the specifics of my little concoction, I prepared the toner by mixing ordinary water with the tea tree essential oil. In approximately 50 ml of water, I added about 25 drops of the oil, and I apply this mixture prior to my moisturizer. I follow this routine in the morning, again in the evening, and once more during the day. Naturally, I make sure to cleanse my face thoroughly with a cleansing gel and water before each application.
In just a matter of days, I have noticed that my breakouts have diminished significantly, and my skin feels remarkably soft and smooth to the touch.
Now, I am certainly no medical professional, so I cannot say for certain whether this might be too harsh for someone with particularly sensitive skin or if it might cause a reaction, but for me, it has been a complete success... Hurray!!!

If you're dealing with breakouts, erythromycin lotion is actually a lifesaver. You can grab it at any CVS or Walgreens, and it won't break the bank either. It totally saved my skin...🙂

Jack Sanchez4: So, how much did that Walmart stuff run you?

Diana Muller: How much does your lotion actually cost? And are you applying it like a toner or more like a cream?

It’s a lotion, so I just apply it right after washing my face with some Dove baby milk. The price usually runs between 30 and $12, depending on which CVS you hit up. Honestly, 🙂
was a total lifesaver...

I was just genuinely surprised that they gave this lotion the exact same name as one of those antibiotics.

It’s obvious why it carries that name, given that its primary ingredient is the antibiotic erythromycin. There is also an alternative version containing clindamycin. You can actually have a pharmacist compound it for you—all you need is a prescription from your primary care physician or a dermatologist specifying all the ingredients so they can mix it right there at the pharmacy. Alternatively, there is a manufactured clindamycin lotion sold under the brand name Clindamycin, though that option tends to be more expensive...

Personally, I thought Clindamycin worked wonders for me. I used it alongside some Skinoren cream and the results were honestly amazing. BUT, if you're dealing with more serious skin issues, I really recommend sticking to a regular cleansing routine. Once I started consistently cleaning my face properly along with using creams, that's when I saw the real progress! Of course, the best move is always to see a dermatologist instead of just guessing and applying stuff on your own.

I don't have much trouble with freckles, maybe just one or two here and there... but lately, I’ve had this little cluster on my face that’s been driving me absolutely crazy for about two months now.
Generally speaking, if I get a single painful spot, I just slap on some Penaten cream or even a bit of toothpaste in the morning—bam, and it's handled.

I’m looking for something for my girls—both of them are hitting puberty and dealing with breakouts.
I’ve heard about tea tree oil before, but I had no clue how to turn it into a toner.
I’ll just try mixing it with water.

Clindamycin does absolutely nothing for me😲

So I grabbed some erythromycin too, and still zero results😲

What am I even supposed to do? Maybe I should just try whatever Jack Sanchez4 is using🙂

I'm gonna jump in and answer for Diana here😘

That Walmart is right in downtown Chicago, near the main plaza... you know, where all those old skeletons hang out... just right behind the big monument in the square.
