What's your go-to movie genre?

I prefer a quality film regardless of the genre. 🤷 Among my favorites are 8. Drama and thrillers.
Only Horror is a genre I don't particularly care for.

I don't really have a favorite genre, per se... I just love those films that leave you staring blankly at the screen once the credits roll, just lost in thought...

I'm with you on that... though I also love the ones that actually make me laugh (like that American movie Untouchable) where you walk out of the theater feeling good, or at least feeling like you need to tell everyone you know about it.😁

I'll definitely check it out. It's been way too long since I've seen a truly solid comedy... most of what gets churned out these days just doesn't land for me at all. That said, I've always had a soft spot for French style humor, even when it's adapted... 🙂

My top preferences are 7. Action, 6. Comedy, 3. Fantasy,
Sci-Fi, and animation.

Comedies, epic historical spectacles, and back in the day, parodies.

Adult films that actually have a sense of humor.

Mostly just Sci-Fi and Fantasy, I suppose.

Westerns, particularly those classic Westerns, truly represent the absolute pinnacle of the Spaghetti Western genre.

It all goes back to the fact that Italians are obsessed with pasta, specifically spaghetti. In fact, that was actually used as a slur by critics toward Italian Westerns... mostly because Americans tended to view them as inferior compared to their own homegrown Westerns.

Eventually, those Spaghetti Westerns achieved legendary cult status. In Japan, they actually refer to them as Macaroni Westerns... 😁

That trilogy basically just put Spaghetti Westerns on the map. And even after watching a mountain of films, none of them really hold a candle to the best. Personally, I prefer the Italian Westerns over the American ones. They have better titles, a raw atmosphere, grit, sweat, dust, violence, and the Mexican border...
