Look, man, you really ought to step away from the marijuana - ban drug before it's too late—you'll end up senile just like me😁. I used to smoke like there was no tomorrow—just constant sessions, maybe six or seven hits a day—and looking back... honestly, it didn't do me any favors. Now, I'm completely burnt out and my memory is fading like some old geezer🤣

A friend of mine was trying to correct me on that, having recently come out the other side of some surgery while under the influence of morphine...
He tells me it’s not quite that simple; the pain is still very much there, you just find yourself fundamentally indifferent to it. A nurse walks in to check on him and starts poking around—does this hurt? Yes. How about this? Horribly. And this one?...
It isn't that the sensation itself is dulled; it's just that, for reasons I can't quite grasp, you simply stop giving a damn.

Smoking seven joints a day isn't just "more" than one a week; it's fifty times more intensive.

The difference is roughly comparable to knocking back seven shots of whiskey every day versus having just one before Sunday lunch.

I just wanted to provide a little sense of perspective here.

Just trying to get my bearings here—to establish some kind of perspective...

It doesn't matter how much you smoked or how long you were doing it—my point is that none of it is actually good for you. But then again, if you look at it from a different angle, some people have managed to strike it rich using it. Take Walt Disney, for example... he came up with all those characters—Mickey Mouse, Siljo, Dumbo...—while he was high.😁

I honestly don't think marijuana affects everyone in the same way.
Some people just go numb, lose their minds, or start losing their edge... Basically, anyone struggling with certain cognitive issues shouldn't even touch the stuff.

Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a lost cause myself—I've been smoking for seven years now... pretty much every single day.
I could ramble on about how it's shaped my life, but as for whether I'm "burnt out"... you wouldn't even know by talking to me.
I've definitely felt the effects, but nothing that touches my ability to work or be creative.

In some ways, it's actually helped me out.

My take? If you're just sharing a joint or two with five friends a day, it should never be an issue.

It’s been proven that smoking marijuana every single day hits your short-term memory—not really the long-term stuff... though you'll definitely notice the difference once you quit. Usually, right after you get over the initial cravings, that forgetfulness starts kicking in.

So, what does it actually mean when we talk about the impact on short-term memory once I quit?

Why even bother stopping? Honestly, I’m not seeing any real consequences regarding my short-term memory right now.
At least nothing major... sure, maybe a little slip-up here and there, but nothing significant enough to actually disrupt my life on a large scale.

What am I even supposed to say about that. Just keep smoking and don't you dare stop—latest studies actually suggest that marijuana use can extend your lifespan and ward off a whole bunch of different diseases.
So, man, just keep at it.👍

Can someone walk me through how this cake actually works—like, what's the deal with the prep and the actual recipe? 😬 😬 😬

The last post on this thread was back in 2006. It feels a bit strange—if I can even call it that—considering just how many people out there are constantly smoking 🙂

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my own "struggle" with marijuana just to get the conversation moving. I’ve been smoking since I was 17, and I’m 23 now. Up until I turned 18, it was strictly a weekend thing. After that, it turned into a daily habit fueled by the ego-driven belief that I could quit whenever I felt like it. Then reality hit. Around age 20 or 21, I realized I actually couldn't stop. I tried once, and I barely made it seven days. Now, it's a constant cycle: the moment I light up, I feel terrible for doing it, but if I don't, I'm dying to do it. I feel completely "weak" when I'm high, and it's starting to mess with my work and my general day-to-day life. Looking at my group of friends who have all quit, I only hear positive things—they describe it as a "waking up" process. So, I'm trying to stop. I just need some good old-fashioned support. Over and out.

First off, tell us: have you even considered looking for professional help?

Bryan Nelson352 said:Look, I’m not saying that if you start smoking joints you’re definitely going to end up using a needle—that’s probably an exaggeration—but you should be absolutely certain that you'll eventually want to try all these easier stimulants...

For my first post 😁
As for my second one—you’re probably going to try them anyway if you’ve got the curiosity, because I’ve always been someone who wanted to know everything, so you start with some marijuana and then you just jump to the next thing, skipping steps, and since weed is that first constant in your life, you eventually find other things too, and you just fall in love with all your little constants, some of which you might switch over to recreational-weekend-holiday-vacation mode whenever your self-control decides to take a breather and let you have some fun. 😍

I am.. and honestly, I’m just happy that nobody is breathing down my neck to try it again right away.. A lot of people say there's a pretty slim chance you're going to become addicted to marijuana after just one hit, and I think they've got a point there... plus, I've read that it's actually less harmful. At the end of the day, there's nothing inherently bad about smoking once every two or three weekends.. it's really just a matter of personal choice... 😁

Oh yeah, back when I was a teenager, I went through those same lows—it honestly felt like it was physically draining me. It rarely actually boosted my mood enough to make me want to quit on the spot.
I’ve been wondering, though: can constant smoking actually cause hair loss?
And if it does, is just quitting enough to fix it, or are you stuck with thinning hair for good?

Finally catching up to this thread. Honestly, there's zero point in discussing this under health—drug use and wellness don't exactly walk hand in hand. I'm locking this.

Lock.
