How do I upload images and videos to the forum?

I’m a little lost here. I save the photo to my desktop, upload it to Imgur, then grab the direct link to paste onto Reddit. But before that, I try using the "insert image" tool, and nothing shows up on the site at all.

Why even bother clicking "Insert image" when there’s already a format specifically designed for posting on Reddit? 🤷

If you're going with the 2nd link: just copy and paste it directly onto the thread.
If you're using the 4th link: hit "Insert image," strip out the "http://" part, drop the link in, and click OK.

Let’s give this another shot, but I'll keep it to a smaller format this time.

ANOTHER PROBLEM!!!
Okay, so, I realized how to actually upload an image—there’s a "Facebook" button by every single picture on Imgur, right? And it gives you these links you can just copy and paste. I was testing things out on this Reddit thread in my last post and used those links just to see if they'd work... but, uh,
one of my three options completely vanished! It was the one I usually use to embed photos into the Reddit discussion. Now all I see is "Link to send via email/instant messenger" and "Code for a BuzzFeed" which is totally not what I need. Then down at the bottom there's "Dropbox this image," which includes a "BBCode thumbnail for forums" option. So, here's the thing: when I copy that link and put it in my post, everything looks perfect while I'm previewing it. And when I actually hit submit, it still looks fine! But then, after a little while, the images just... disappear. Again. (Check this link to see what I mean: Now I am back to square one, totally lost, and I have no clue what I'm doing wrong or how to fix it. Thanks in advance for any help! 👍🙏

Oh, and one more thing. When I upload all the photos I want into an album on Imgur, there's this "Album properties" setting where you can resize every photo in the whole album at once (the photo view size), right? So why is it that when I go to the "Facebook" section to grab the links, the photo pops up in its full, original size again? Like, if I resized the view size for the entire album, shouldn't the photo be smaller? I don't get it!

Why the hell can't I find any posts from the Craigslist ads??

Nah, this is the "How do I post an image on the forum?" thread on the Reddit Help PDF. It's honestly baffling how someone can spend five years lurking on Reddit and still not grasp the difference.

The search function was disabled by the superadmin's call. You're going to have to rely on your own memory, just like the rest of us. 🙂

Basically, how do I actually post a picture from Photobucket? And why is it that when I post a photo or a tiny little thumbnail, it looks totally fine in the post or private message initially, but when I come back later to check, the photo is gone and there's just a little red 'X' instead? I just don't get it.😕🤷 🙂🙂
