northerncrane4, are you actually here to talk about the movie or just to obsess over me? Look, I get it—I'm easy on the eyes—but saying I'm more attractive than a trans person? 😎 🙂 😁 😁

The film. Then you showed up...

And the rest is history.

Who else would you even be talking to if I hadn't shown up? Some random guy? Man, you should seriously be thanking your lucky stars that I stumbled upon this. 😁 😁

Look, man—if this works for you, far be it from me to complain. But it’s obvious you’re just desperate to drag Paul Mendoza8 back into this. You're absolutely relentless. 😢

northerncrane4 said:Man, if that's what works for you, who am I to judge? But honestly, it looks like you're just dying to drag Paul Mendoza8 back into this. Talk about being obsessed. 😢

Nah, she’s actually (finally) pivoting everything she wants to know about me over to my DMs—because apparently, as soon as I show up anywhere, she suddenly needs to ask me stuff that’s way too personal. So yeah, you're totally wrong if you think I'm trying to pull her back into the thread.
I'll bring her back when she starts asking about what I had for breakfast or my bathroom schedule, since clearly that's all she cares about. Total typical groupie vibes, right? 😎

dustyscout53 said:No, she’s finally redirecting everything she wants to know about me toward my inbox—as you can tell from this thread—because the second I show up, she feels the need to ask something that should stay strictly private. So, if you think I actually want her back in this discussion, you're dead wrong.
I'll let her back in when she starts asking what I had for breakfast or when I used the restroom—since clearly, that's all she cares about. Typical groupie behavior. 😎

I don't know—I'll just point out once more that you didn't even acknowledge my sub-intellectual take on that movie until Paul Mendoza8 finally posted. Or, to use the legendary eternal question—what came first: the grouch or the stalker?

Sorry, but honestly? I’m mostly focusing on two things here:
a) your super dry critique
b) Taylor Swift's amazing review

And when I compare the two—well, let's just say your authority is looking pretty shaky.

Plus, you aren't even trying to clean up that messy brain dump of yours—you know, unlike that intern at the local shop who actually organizes things? Not happening.

I really thought you'd be able to squeeze out at least one smart sentence about the film.

Still waiting on it.

Look, Mileni, not everyone acts like you. Not everyone starts sliding into DMs with that "Hey, I heard you're a big deal—let's team up, I really need to find out who you actually are" routine. 😉

a) your dry-as-dust critique
b) Taylor Swift's brilliant analysis

a) I assume you meant "my dry post."
b) Given how much you praise her, I’m starting to suspect "Taylor Swift" is just Ernest Hemingway using a pseudonym.

dustyscout53 said:By comparing the two, I'm questioning your authority.

Then again—you aren't even attempting to fix that overly wordy impression of yours; you won't even tidy it up like that intern from the local clinic, but hey, not even that.

Honestly, I thought you might manage to string together at least one intelligent sentence about the film.

But who, my friend, for whom? And why, neighbor, why? So you can get some free enjoyment out of my verbal flourishes? Or maybe eventually use them in one of your short stories?

It’s for me, buddy—for me and the people. I don't write these things for stories; I go to those dive bars just to hunt for the good stuff. 😁

What does that even have to do with anything? You saw it, so you're the one who should be explaining it, not me. I haven't seen it yet—how many times am I gonna say that?

Oh, right—I forgot you’re such a devotee of George's style of critique—where you just recap what happened in the movie or show.

dustyscout53 said:I haven't seen it—how many times do I have to tell you?

And how am I supposed to know if I'm right, or if I'm following some obscure academic's playbook or acting like Romanov's sister? Film criticism isn't a platform for lecturing people on your personal worldview.

northerncrane4 said:Oh right, I totally forgot you’re one of those people who critiques stuff by just summarizing what happens in the movie or show.

Look, let me break this down for you—if MetLife is a bad movie and you say it is, then honestly? I’d rather just read Taylor Swift's review and watch the whole thing in my head. It's about the reality of illusion versus the illusion of reality... which is way too deep for this thread, anyway.

northerncrane4 said:So how am I supposed to know if I'm right or if Romanov's sister is right? Film criticism isn't exactly a playground for explaining your entire worldview.

People don't write reviews just to prove they're right. Honestly, film criticism is *exactly* where you lay out your own perspective on life.

We're just looking at this from totally different angles.

I highly doubt we've met; I’ve certainly never visited a proctologist.

p.s. Though, it is comforting to know you'll be there if I ever actually have to go. 😉
