Richard Hernandez13 said:A good bad movie.

Unfortunately, it’s the exact movie that kicked off the whole era of high-budget B-movies.

Well said.

It’s only good because of the sheer scale. Everything is massive—huge ships, huge explosions, huge threats to the planet. It’s all World Scala. It forces you to look at Earth as a single planet.

That’s the same trick Godzilla uses, too. Their whole slogan is basically: Bigger is better.😛

Wasn't that the Snickers slogan? Or was it McDonald's? Maybe Burger King?
...
....
Or maybe for a car?? 🤔
😁 😁

Come on, people, the movie is total trash. I loved it just as much as everyone else when it first hit theaters back when I was in fifth or sixth grade, but looking back now, it’s honestly terrible... I only just realized how incredibly dated those special effects have become 🙂

Man, that Godzilla movie is honestly just terrible...👎>

Honestly, this is one of those movies I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve rewatched—which pretty much says everything about how much I love it.

I mean, obviously, I wasn't about to miss my chance to dive back in this time around, either😁.

The atmosphere in this flick is just unbeatable (okay, fine, let’s just gloss over the ending because it's kind of ridiculous, but whatever...).

Man, those ships look absolutely magnificent, and honestly, they still hold up so well even today...🙏🙏

For the heavy hitters, definitely. 😁

This movie was honestly a mess. I mean, how are they suggesting you can just inject some Earth-based computer virus into a completely different type of hardware? Come on, people!
And don't even get me started on that nauseatingly cheesy speech that made my skin crawl.
Then there’s the part where Smith is supposedly piloting a massive starship—I’ve seen what a MiG-29 can do, and trust me, it's nothing like that. It just doesn't hold up.

Even if we assume they stripped away the shields, the aliens possess weaponry so advanced that a few weak fighter jets wouldn't stand a chance against them anyway. It’s just pure nonsense.

🤣 🤣 🤣

I totally agree that this movie is basically just pure American propaganda.
My proof? Ever since it hit theaters back in 1996, we haven't seen a single alien brave enough to actually try and invade us.

Maybe they've all just been working hard behind the scenes to migrate their entire computer systems over to Linux all this time.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve sat through this one, and honestly? I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. It’s one of those unforgettable cinematic experiences that just sticks in your soul. Truly one of those rare gems that actually made me want to sit through the whole thing in a theater 👍

I found the movie to be quite good. It’s a perfect way to kill three hours, I suppose. 🙏
As for Will Smith, he’s a great actor who handled the role well; though, I guess their occasional overacting can be a bit grating, but overall... it's top-notch. 😁

I have a soft spot for Sci-Fi. 🙂 While I found the movie entertaining, it isn't something I would watch on repeat. I believe I've seen it twice—once when it first came out and again recently while it was playing on a cable channel.

Perhaps they’ve all been diligently migrating their computer systems to Linux this whole time.

In that case, the Earthmen have already won!

To those claiming the movie is complete garbage, please, just wait until you meet a heavy-set mother 😁.

Sure, piloting a starship would be a breeze if you've already seen how one flies 🙄

Yeah, we'll just have to drop Math Baby right onto their mothership.

Naturally, I didn't miss out on a rewatch this time either😁.

The atmosphere in this flick is just unbeatable (unless you count the ending, which is honestly kind of stupid, but whatever...).

Those ships look absolutely magnificent, even by today's standards...🙏🙏

😁 😁
Anyway, it's playing on satellite right now so I'm catching it while I run the dishwasher and this
😬

I missed the beginning entirely—
it starts with the moon as the intro scene.
😲

Damn,
👍 😬 😁
