Thanks for the incredibly helpful advice. 🙂

Inter Milan fans are something else—it’s like being part of a cult that somehow survives on pure spite and espresso. You have to respect the grit, though. Even when things go sideways, they just lean into the chaos. It’s a specific kind of madness. kaže:
Maybe start by actually turning your computer off.

If that doesn't do the trick, just knock back a shot of bourbon and you'll be out like a light in seconds.

So I turn it off, and then what? It’s not like that actually fixes anything... Besides, I haven't exactly developed the habit of fixing my problems with a shot of bourbon. 🤣

Taylor Swift 👋 you getting any sleep? 😁

Can't sleep. 🤷
You're all asleep at the wheel right now. 🤷
I’m honestly worried I won't be getting much sleep tonight...

I’ll make this quick. 🙂 So, what's your actual schedule look like—how many hours are you staying up versus actually getting some shut-eye? My biggest issue is that my internal clock is completely flipped. I don't hit the sack until 6 AM and then I'm wide awake by 3 PM, and honestly, it's been going on for a hot minute now.

My schedule is a total mess... Some days I'm all over the place—sometimes I head out at noon, other times it's 9 AM, depending on how things shake out...

I have a feeling I won't even hit the pillow until around 10 tonight...🤣

So, what kind of work do you do? Also, since you're up all night... how much sleep do you manage to get during the day? How do you even function once the sun comes up?

Patrick Carter said:How old are you?

What changed in your life about three months ago?

When do you actually try to sleep in the morning after an all-nighter? How much sleep are you catching during the day?

Are you on any medications for other health issues?

Caffeine intake? Smoking? Any other stimulants?

Sleeping pills might help, but they’re a temporary fix—you shouldn't be using them for more than two or three weeks at a stretch.

We need to figure out the root cause of this insomnia—it’s likely some form of stress or anxiety.

Look, if you ask me, there was only one person here who actually gave you a real, thoughtful response, and you just completely brushed it off...

You should probably get your thyroid checked out.
My old man started dealing with all this insomnia, tossing and turning, night sweats, then his hands began shaking, and he started dropping weight like crazy... basically, his thyroid was a total disaster. He ended up getting prescribed some medication and he’s doing fine now.

Maybe try finding some ways to actually unwind—like cutting back on the cigarettes or skipping the coffee if you happen to be a smoker or a caffeine addict myself!

Lately, I’ve been dealing with this absolute nightmare of insomnia... I don't even hit the pillow until around 2 AM, and then I just spend two agonizing hours tossing and turning before I finally drift off... The day before yesterday was particularly brutal; I was so restless I couldn't stand it, ended up getting out of bed at 3:30 AM just to pace around for a bit before crawling back under the covers... 😢 Honestly, I have no idea how I’m going to cope once summer ends—it’s manageable right now since the weather is warm and school is out of the picture, but that won't last forever. 🤷 If I can't find a way to actually get some sleep soon, I’m probably just going to knock back a few beers; usually, a little bit of alcohol is the only thing that actually knocks me out...

It’s strange, because here’s my reality:
If you look at my post history, most of it lands between 11 PM and 7 AM, mostly because sleep is a foreign concept to me and I just end up scrolling through these forums instead. 🤷

It’s 5:00 AM now, and I’m approaching my 54th straight hour of being awake. I’m irritable, my head is pounding, my eyes are burning, and honestly, I’m just utterly exhausted—but the second I actually try to lie down, I just toss and turn all night for nothing 🤷. This hasn't been a one-off; I haven't had a decent night's rest in probably three months. So, what’s the move? Should I try to push through until I hit 100 hours? Or should I just go find some sleeping pills?

Not doing much right now while school is in session. During the day? It depends—I never quite manage to sleep through the whole thing, whether it's the first half or the second. I usually just end up feeling weak and exhausted during the daylight hours. 🤷

There’s no way I’d ever ignore a post like that. ☕

That person was actually a huge help via DM—they were digging for a ton of info, so we just moved the whole conversation to private messages to hammer out the details.

I hadn't realized that... Maybe I should actually go ahead and schedule an appointment.

I know, I know—unwinding would probably do me some good, but honestly, the last three months have been an absolute gauntlet of stress. And despite all that, I haven’t touched a cigarette or even a cup of coffee... just to add to the misery.

Purely intellectual. ☕

Thanks for the killer advice—if my doctors actually give me the green light, I’m all in.

I personally can't get a wink of sleep whenever life starts throwing curveballs my way, so you might just be dealing with a particularly stressful stretch right now...

I've been taking an antidepressant to help me sleep, mostly because I'm dealing with some depression right now. It’s the only way I can actually drift off.
Ideally, I'd prefer to sleep without relying on pills, but at this point, that just isn't happening.

Look, that’s fine for "first aid"—the first two or three weeks, at most. You really ought to make it a goal to stop relying on those pills as soon as you're able. Are you seeing a therapist for the depression? Honestly, the best results usually come from combining medication with actual therapy.

Another thing that helps with depression—if you have the energy—is exercise. Just hitting some light recreation three times a week for 30 minutes can make a noticeable difference.

Thanks, Patrick Carter! 🙂
I suppose I should try to be more active, though my motivation is currently non-existent.

I have zero interest in any kind of therapy; that sounds like a one-way ticket to a deeper depression.
My doctor mentioned therapy isn't mandatory, but I am stuck taking these pills for at least six months, since apparently, all antidepressants take that long to actually kick in.
