Huh, how could it not be good!?
Haven't gotten around to watching it yet, but I will...

The cinematography looks incredible, so this really belongs on the big screen at an AMC Theatres...

I’ve always had a soft spot for those "on the road" movies... you sit down in the theater, and suddenly you're already halfway there.

It’s absolutely true—you watch that movie and suddenly you're picturing yourself lost in those breathtaking, massive landscapes! It triggers this strange, unidentifiable feeling in me; I can't quite put my finger on it. When I walked out of the AMC Theatres, I had a grin stretching from ear to ear. I was just genuinely, purely happy afterward!

I’ve seen it. Look, those landscapes are stunning and having a buddy like Che Guevara sounds like quite the adventure—everything looks beautiful on screen—but as far as actual filmmaking goes? It didn't really do it for me. I’ll admit to being a bit of a snob here, but even though I enjoyed the visuals, I walked away without much to chew on intellectually.

I love movies that actually make me feel something. I mean, if I walk out of a theater feeling completely indifferent, I consider it a total waste of money. Why even bother?
After watching "The Motorcycle Diaries," I was completely wiped out for at least half an hour. I couldn't pull myself together. The tears started creeping in during the second half of the film, but once he crossed that river to celebrate a birthday with those lepers? That was it. I just couldn't hold it back anymore. Truly beautiful.
😕 All they did was laugh at me later because I actually cried...🙄

Damn, honestly? I completely drifted off during that scene.
I don't know. To me, Che Guevara was never that mystical figure everyone makes him out to be, so the movie didn't really do anything for me either. All that revolutionary struggle throughout Latin America always felt like a blur to me—just distant noise. Honestly, just look at how Castro turned out. A dictator? That’s the reality. 🙄

I don't know, Che Guevara never really struck me as this mystical, larger-than-life figure, so the movie just didn't hit home for me. All that fighting and chaos in Latin America was always kind of a blur to me—I mean, just look at how Castro turned into a straight-up dictator. 🙄

Well, alright... truth be told, I was expecting something completely different from this flick, but hey, it wasn't half bad...
The only two movies where I actually drifted off (and that was strictly because I hadn't slept a wink the night before) were "Golem" and "American Splendor"... and even then, it was just for a few brief moments...😁
By the way, we were watching with this woman who was absolutely floored by the movie... for the next twenty minutes she just sat there staring into space... she couldn't even bring herself to get up and leave the theater...
😛 And then people have the nerve to laugh when I start tearing up...

Who knows, maybe she was just meditating on the movie afterward... totally possible.

So, what were you even doing for twenty minutes after the credits rolled at the AMC Theatres? 😕

I thought the movie was pretty cool, but honestly, the biochemist's face was more memorable than the plot.😁
Gael seemed a little bit bland to me, but since I wasn't expecting much, I guess I ended up pleasantly surprised.
The soundtrack is killer.

Did you see? The movie actually snagged an Academy Award, and even picked up the Oscar for Best Original Song for *Al otro lado del rio*. You can go ahead and stream the track right now on the film's official website!!! Long live Che!

And honestly, it took me about half an hour just to pull myself together after it was over, too.😁 😁 😁

You should have pulled yourself together... from the chair, the floor, whatever... just get it together.

I haven't caught the movie yet since they're only showing it dubbed, and I'm not really feeling that. Is anyone else seeing it in Chicago for a while longer?

It’s all just a game, man, a total game...

If Alexander is still playing along... I mean, seriously, give me a break...🙄 ...
This whole thing is definitely going to keep running for a while longer, mark my words...🙂

I am absolutely counting down the days until that original DVD release hits the shelves, complete with all the bonus features. I’ll be the very first person in line to grab a copy!!!!

Honestly, Che Guevara's vision wasn't actually a bad one; he wanted to build a world centered on equality—a world without that massive, suffocating gap between the haves and the have-nots. But they shut him down, and who else could have done it besides... the Americans!!! As for Castro, if you ask me, he wasn't even staying true to those original Che Guevara ideals to begin with!

I really ought to start studying this stuff a bit more seriously....

I'll probably catch it this weekend if I can actually make it out to Chicago...

Could really use a trip right about now, even if it's just to the movie theater.

Honestly, Che Guevara's whole vision wasn't actually a bad one. He wanted to build a world based on equality—closing that massive gap between the haves and the have-nots. But they stopped him. Who else would... Americans!!! And as for Castro, I don't think he was ever truly consistent with those original Che ideas to begin with.

Maybe I should start digging a little deeper into this...

Every revolution eventually eats itself... 😉

The thing that makes the movie work is how it avoids being pretentious... it doesn't try too hard to explain why an ordinary guy becomes someone extraordinary... it just lets things happen. I actually appreciate that the film didn't feel the need to answer all those questions.
