Leonardo DiCaprio in Aviator

It’s decent enough, I guess. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of Leo’s babyface look, and his voice doesn't exactly do much for me either, but you can't deny the guy knows how to act. As for H. Hughes, I actually think Howard and Melvin was a better film.

Every single character is bland and hollow. Honestly, Scorsese, if you win an Oscar for this, just quit. Too bad there isn't an Oscar for robbing the audience or for pure boredom. I wasn't expecting much, yet I'm still disappointed...congrats on achieving that, though. Bravo, Scorsese. If you hadn't made that massive flop *New York Gangsters*, I might have actually thought you had talent left in you.

This probably made you the only person on this thread who failed to grasp an extremely straightforward movie with a perfectly normal flow.

Watched it today. Nothing special, honestly a bit of a snooze fest. If it wasn't for DiCaprio, I probably wouldn't have even finished it. There’s no humor, not enough women in the cast, and they didn't really show how those planes were actually built. Still, I'll give it a 6/10.

My thoughts. DiCaprio delivered his best performance yet, without question. But the film itself? It could have been much better...

Yeah, DiCaprio was absolutely incredible in that role. 🙂 Everything else was just forgettable.

Look, not every single movie needs to be some big romance about relationships, right? Though, even as a woman, I gotta say that scene between Howard and Hepburn should've been a little more explicit.
Anyway, it’s easily one of my favorite roles for Leo—he basically carries the entire movie on his back—and then Cate walks away with the Oscar. 🙄

Relationships aren't always the main focus, but in The Aviator specifically, they could have leaned into it more to really wow the audience. A little more humor would have been great too. 🙂

It drags on a bit too long, but all things considered, it’s a solid film. Visually, it’s stunning with some really engaging camerawork, though I suppose that’s just what you expect from Scorsese. DiCaprio delivers a powerhouse performance; personally, I’d rank this in his top five roles. Cate is excellent as well. While the plot is compelling, the pacing feels stretched thin at times, making certain stretches feel tedious. That said, the ending is easily the best part—especially that trial involving Hughes. 7/10 for me.
