katasrofa...
The first part was incomparable, honestly. It just hit different.
I have to admit, towards the end
of the movie, I was totally lost... 👎

The first one is way better. Hands down.
I’ll be honest, near the end
of the movie I was just lost... 👎

Who wasn't? 😁

Total collapse. Honestly, this was the worst thing I’ve sat through in a theater all year—just boring, nonsensical, and incredibly naive...! The first one was way better than this.

🙂 🙂 🙂

So, I just caught a glimpse of this

The people who made this absolute garbage and the actors in it deserve to be physically roughed up
Screw all of them—this massive pile of narcissistic self-indulgence without a shred of substance is something we haven't seen in a long time
It’s like a group of total losers decided they’re "cool" and "interesting" regardless of how much trash they produce
That movie is an insult to anyone who actually paid for a ticket
From now on, I'm only watching Hollywood productions on Divx
To hell with Julia, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon

I don't think anything has ever pissed me off as much as that movie
They just threw a bunch of their pathetic little inside jokes into a film, marketed it, and acted like it’s some masterpiece—all because she’s acting like a total mess playing herself, and that lumberjack guy can't even tell it's her 🙂 After this, I'm done with Alexander's crap; I wouldn't give them a single cent
Screw all of them

What counts as $5.00 today? A pack of cigarettes...
But honestly, if that fifteen bucks could have bought me a ticket to see "Ocean's Twelve," I’d actually be feeling pretty bummed that I don't smoke—just so I could spend the money more wisely...
Anyway, I ended up smoking them regardless (the movie was, well, kind of a mess... especially since the first one is such a cult classic in my book)...

The film isn't actually bad at all; in fact, if I am being perfectly honest, I would argue it is even superior to the first installment.

The stylistic approach is entirely different from its predecessor. While the first film focused heavily on the heist itself and the technical execution of the robbery—making it quite a grand spectacle—this second chapter feels more akin to an Elmore Leonard story, offering a laid-back kind of entertainment filled with subtle wit and exceptionally well-defined characters. Certain sequences actually bear a striking resemblance to the cinematic style of Guy Ritchie, specifically regarding the way the frames are composed.

Furthermore, I find myself quite perplexed as to why anyone would find the narrative confusing; while it certainly isn't linear, it is by no means illogical.

I fully intend to watch it once more when it arrives on DVD, simply because it is quite a cool piece of cinema.

P.S. And let us be clear: Brad Pitt is not the sole pillar upon which every single film he appears in must rest.

It’s not like I’m some jealous old hag or anything... but hasn't Brad Pitt aged a little bit? 😁 😁 😁

Well, now that you mention it—when he’s just passed out like a log with that sleep mask on in that plane... 😁 Honestly, you might be a bit old-fashioned—but personally, I couldn't care less about that Brad guy. 😁

Look, I get it, he doesn't fit your specific aesthetic standards, don't sweat it. 😁

You’ve got two questions there—one from Carol Jackson45 and one from me—but they're hidden because they're spoilers. If you just highlight those parts of the text, you can read them. Then you can reply to them invisibly too.

Spoiler:
It is highly probable that LeMarc screwed over Cassel because of his daughter. The fact that Cassel was such an egocentric jerk merely facilitated the situation and acted as a convenient bonus. Cassel essentially had to swallow his pride just to ensure LeMarc maintained his reputation as the premier thief.

Had they announced the theft of the egg much earlier in the narrative, the impact would not have been nearly as profound. It is far more satisfying to savor a victory over an adversary when you can humiliate them further, leaving them to simmer on a low flame. In my estimation, we are dealing with deeper philosophical inquiries here. After all, it is a quintessential cinematic trope: why does the villain always falter even when he possesses a clear opportunity to eliminate the hero? It is because they engage in unnecessary grandstanding, dragging out the tension through their own flamboyant displays and narcissism, which inevitably allows some unforeseen circumstance to intervene and save our protagonist—a perfect example being >. Cassel simply suffered from abysmal timing. Furthermore, if he hadn't, the film wouldn't even reach the two-hour mark. 😁

The style is totally different. While the first one focused more on the heist itself and how they pulled it off—making it a real spectacle—the second feels more like an Elmore Leonard piece, just a laid-back ride with clever banter and solid characters. Some parts actually remind me of Guy Ritchie movies (like Lock, Stock...) especially with the way the shots are framed.

And I don't get what people are confused about regarding the plot? It’s not linear, sure, but it's definitely not illogical.

I’m gonna watch it again once it hits DVD. Because it's cool.

P.S. And Brad Pitt isn't the backbone of every single movie he’s in.

Watched the flick today—well, yesterday 🙂—and I’m with neonsailor12 on this.

I don't get why everyone's whining about being confused or not following the story. Seriously, I can't find a single thing that should trip anyone up.
As for the vibe, well, you know who the director is and how he handles his stuff; he did the exact same thing with Ocean's 13. This is pure Steven Soderbergh, not something like Traffic.
I agree with some of the things that bugged you guys, but that’s just part of the movie. That bit where Bruce Willis doesn't recognize Julia is honestly 😕 , and Julia looks like she hasn't eaten since she was a kid in Africa, which totally threw me off.
All those weird quirks are actually central to the whole thing. I don't think every subplot needs to start from scratch just so everyone gets the same impression of the characters. Here, the story drops you right in the middle and shows the characters as they are—clearly the type of people to pull "WTF" moves. They do it whether it's Matt Damon or those two Englishmen who won't stop bickering.
That freaky meeting between Damon, Pitt, George Clooney, and that fat guy really sets the tone for the entire film. You have to take it as it is instead of just hating on it immediately.
The movie is different from the first one, so what? I was torn between this and Ace Big and I didn't make a mistake.

By the way, Zeta Jones and Douglas:🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏

Either way, this movie refuses to leave you cold, and I think that alone makes it a success. It provokes debate and offers a certain duality, which, in my eyes, means it’s gone that extra mile.

Anyway, paired up with the first one, they tell a fantastic story—honestly, a much tighter pairing than, say, Kill Bill or something similar. I don't quite get why people insist on comparing the first installment to the second when they complement and build upon each other so perfectly. It’s one of those rare instances where a sequel actually works.

If you were to watch 11 & 12 back-to-back in a single evening and then head to bed, I suspect you'd find yourself smiling, feeling as though you'd just finished a truly great novel.

That's all from me. I'm writing this while still buzzing from the experience; I finished it just 15 minutes ago. Cheers.

Some individual segments might have worked as cool standalone pieces, but as a complete package, the film is pathetic.
The dramatic structure is completely disconnected, there's zero plot, it's impossible to follow, and it fails to land the intended emotional impact.
It's a real shame for Steven Soderbergh; he really didn't need to go this far.

I honestly don't get what people are struggling to follow in this film... I sat in the theater today right after reading this thread, waiting for some convoluted twist that I wouldn't understand, but nothing happened... it wasn't disjointed at all... I have no idea what you guys are talking about.

Honestly, I find both Pitt and Clooney incredibly attractive, and that’s 😁
quite a fact.
But Vincent Cassel... 🙏 things would definitely be played out differently with him... 😁

🙂

It actually makes me want to go see a Spy connection tomorrow, believe it or not! 😁

And... he looks so much like someone at my favorite local pub... though the guy at the pub is honestly three times more handsome 🙏

My apologies for going off-topic.
