The healing power of positive thinking

Medicine's biggest mistake over the last century—and honestly, it still is—is treating people like mere matter. It fails to truly perceive us or see us as whole beings. You can't just treat a human being like a machine where you swap out or fix material parts whenever you feel like it. We are much more than that. We are unique individuals composed of body, soul, and spirit. Only when we view a person as a complete whole can we actually understand what illness, treatment, and true health really mean. Ultimately, the root of all sickness lies in how we think and how insincerely we live our lives.
The power of thought isn't exactly news these days. Plenty of people have seen their lives take a massive turn for the better just by tapping into it. But there’s a dark side: people often weaponize this mindset to serve selfish agendas. Using mental energy for pure ego isn't "positive thinking"—it's dangerous, and it's a complete misuse of the concept. At its core, the entire universe is built on vibration and energy. Everything—matter, light, sound, thoughts, and emotions—is energy. Even modern science backs this up. Research shows that physical changes in our bodies aren't just triggered by external factors; our thoughts and feelings drive the biochemical processes within us. Essentially, thoughts are energy that directly impact our health. Negative mindsets contribute to illness, while positive ones promote healing and wellness.
Thoughts, feelings, and even those subconscious twitches—they all shape how we act. They dictate our gestures, our expressions, and every single thing we say and do. I see our actions as pure, potent energy. There's a constant loop where the internal influences the external and vice versa, fueled by this endless flow of energy within us. It’s a continuous tug-of-war between different forces that are constantly communicating. This internal dialogue can either build us up, making us stronger and more vibrant, or tear us down until we break. It all comes down to whether that energy flowing through us is positive or negative.
Positive thoughts lift you up. Constructive thinking is driven by selfless love—thoughts focused entirely on the well-being of others without any need for praise, recognition, or a reward. It’s about being kind, gentle, and trusting. It’s the desire to serve and help someone find their footing when they need it most. These are thoughts of peace, unity, and pure joy—like that feeling of awe you get looking at a massive thunderstorm or a sunset. It’s gratitude born from knowing how much we've been given. When we let this energy flow selflessly toward others, it comes back to us tenfold because we are the ones giving through love. Selfless, loving thoughts are pure energy. God is love, and those who love live in God, just as God lives in them.
Negative thoughts are pure destruction. We're talking about ego-driven impulses: envy, jealousy, hatred, rage, and aggression toward those around us. Then there are the depressive patterns—constantly overestimating or belittling things. It’s fueled by unrealistic expectations, distrust, and malice. It’s also found in daydreaming, being dishonest with ourselves, and staying trapped in the past or obsessing over the future. Fear is a huge part of it, too. Fear for our existence, fear of sickness, pain, or misfortune. The dread of death, the anxiety that we can't handle daily life, or the terror of losing our money, our partners, or our loved ones. There's also self-pity and that fake sympathy we offer others that actually accomplishes nothing. Even darker are the thoughts of destruction, exploitation, and cruelty toward nature, plants, and animals. It's the constant craving for status, possessions, and greed for power. It’s all just selfish, reckless thinking centered entirely on one's own interests. In these moments, energy doesn't flow outward. Instead of giving, you're just taking. A person stuck in negative thinking isn't contributing anything; they are simply trying to siphon energy from others to satisfy their own egocentric needs and fill their own internal emptiness.
Thoughts carry different types and levels of energy. Depending on what we think, we build a specific energetic field around ourselves. This field grows stronger the more frequently and intensely we focus on similar ideas. Because like thoughts attract one another, they merge into a larger shared energy field—eventually forming a full-blown energetic complex. This happens because, according to the law of conservation of energy in physics, energy can never be lost or destroyed; it can only change from one state to another.
Since energy can't just vanish, every single thought must "exist" somewhere once it’s created. So, what happens to positive versus negative thoughts? Every thought, or cluster of thoughts, carries a specific shape because it is pure energy. Some people are actually intuitive enough to perceive these thought-forms. These are independent entities that carry their own destination within them. For instance, if you think of someone with genuine love, that energetic field of love heads straight toward them. That intention acts like a command, delivering that love to its target. This energetic field will find the right recipient with absolute certainty. It doesn't matter if the person knows you're thinking of them or where they are located; thought-energy isn't bound by time or space. It always hits the mark. These positive energies then act upon the receiver—revitalizing them as much as they are willing to accept. If they can't receive it immediately because they are stuck in a negative headspace, that energy simply stays in their aura, waiting in their soul's field until they call it back with positive thoughts.
On the flip side, if we think negatively about someone, we create a negative energetic field. Sending out thoughts of hate or envy creates independent entities that head toward that person to exert influence. If the recipient is thinking along the same lines, resonance occurs. A shared energetic complex begins to pulse and vibrate, amplifying those negative thoughts. This can create actual "thought clouds," leaving a person feeling lost in the fog. When this happens, they lose the ability to see others for who they truly are and fail to recognize the good in those around them. This often leads to arguments or even physical confrontations. However, if the sent negative energy finds no resonance in the recipient—meaning there is no "match" for it—then they won't fall under its influence. Of course, highly sensitive people might still feel the negativity of others, experiencing it as a slight prickling sensation or an unexplained sense of unease.

Honestly, I just can't bring myself to be positive about this whole situation...
but then again, I've been sitting here for days wondering if I was actually coming down with something, and wouldn't you know it—my throat started killing me today!

Either total coincidence or just psychosomatic stuff.

Amy Fox97 said:The single biggest blunder in American medicine over the last century—and honestly, it’s still happening right now—is the way doctors treat us like we’re nothing more than a collection of biological parts... they just look at the material stuff and completely ignore the actual human being standing in front of them. You can't just treat a person like some kind of machine where you swap out components or fix gears whenever something breaks; that’s just not how it works because we are so much more than that. We are this complex, singular union of body, soul, and spirit... and until we actually start viewing a person as one whole, integrated entity, we aren't even going to begin to grasp what "illness" really means, let alone what true healing looks like. If you ask me, the root cause of all these ailments actually lies in our own flawed thinking... in the way we live lives that are fundamentally dishonest and disconnected from ourselves...
People talk about the power of thought like it's some big, trendy new concept everyone's discovered lately—and honestly, I get it, because I’ve seen folks turn their entire lives around just by shifting their mindset... but there’s a dark side to this whole thing that people conveniently ignore. It’s getting twisted all the time, you know? People are weaponizing their mental energy to chase after selfish, ego-driven goals, and let me tell you, that kind of manipulation is lightyears away from what we actually mean when we talk about "positive thinking." It’s dangerous, really... using that kind of influence just to feed your own ego isn't "manifesting," it's just being predatory. If you look at how the universe actually works, everything is basically just vibrating energy... it's all connected through these constant oscillations. Whether you're looking at solid matter, light, sound waves, or even just a fleeting thought or a gut feeling, it's all energy. Even the scientists are starting to catch up to this, proving through their research that our physical bodies aren't just reacting to the stuff we touch or see in the outside world. It goes much deeper than that. Our thoughts—and more importantly, those intense emotions—are directly driving the biochemical processes inside us. Thoughts are pure energy, and that energy hits our physical health head-on. If you're constantly feeding on negativity, you're essentially inviting sickness into your body, whereas staying positive... well, that's what actually fosters healing and keeps us healthy... it's all tied together, whether we want to admit it or not...
Thoughts, feelings... even those little subconscious twitches we don't even notice... they all dictate how we act, how we gesture, the way our faces move, every single movement, and most importantly, the words we say and the things we actually do, which are really just this massive surge of raw energy. It’s like the inner world spills out into the physical one and then circles right back around, all because there’s this constant, restless flow of energy shifting inside us... it never stops. There are these forces constantly clashing and interacting within us, talking to one another in a sort of internal dialogue. And honestly, that communication can either build us up, make us stronger, and bring us to life, or it can just completely tear us down until we finally break, depending on whether the energy swirling around is positive or negative... it really comes down to that.
Positive thinking isn't just some cheesy motivational poster you'd see in a corporate office in Chicago... it’s much deeper than that. It’s about those uplifting, constructive thoughts that are actually soaked in selfless love—you know, the kind where you genuinely want what's best for someone else without sitting around waiting for a pat on the back, a thank you, or some kind of reward... it’s just pure, kind, gentle energy. It’s about trust and being helpful, guiding someone through a tough spot so they can find their own way forward... it’s that sense of peace and unity, that quiet joy you feel when you're just staring at a massive sunset over the Grand Canyon or looking up at the clouds and realizing how much life is poured into every single color and shape we see. It’s gratitude, plain and simple, coming from that deep realization that we've been given so much... When you let that energy flow out from you toward others without any strings attached, it just comes rushing back tenfold, because at the end of the day, we are the ones giving because we are capable of loving. Those selfless, love-filled thoughts are a primal, vital energy... because God is love, and anyone who truly loves is living within God, and God lives within them...
Negative thoughts are just straight-up destructive... they’re basically pure egoism, you know? It's all that envy, jealousy, hatred, and just raw aggression toward the people around you. Then you’ve got those depressive spirals—where you're constantly overestimating things or belittling others—along with all those unrealistic expectations, the suspicion, and just general malice. It’s that daydreaming, dishonest headspace where you're stuck obsessing over the past or worrying about some future that hasn't even happened yet. And don't even get me started on the fear... that paralyzing terror of losing everything, whether it's your health, your money, your partner, or just feeling like you aren't cut out for the daily grind in this country. It’s also that fake sympathy and self-pity that doesn't actually help anyone, just makes things worse. It goes deeper, too, into those dark impulses to exploit or destroy nature and animals, or that bottomless greed for status, power, and just hoarding more than your fair share. It’s all just selfish, reckless circling around your own interests and nothing else... and when you're stuck in that mindset, you aren't giving anything back to the world. You're just a vacuum. Instead of letting energy flow to others, you're just trying to suck it out of them to fill your own empty tank and feed those ego-driven cravings... it's essentially just stealing energy from everyone else to cover up how depleted you really are.
Thoughts are basically different types of energy, varying in both intensity and flavor... and because of that specific "flavor," we end up building out this unique energetic field around ourselves. This field just keeps getting stronger the more often—and how intensely—we dwell on the same kinds of stuff. It’s like, similar thoughts attract one another, merging into this massive, shared energetic field, which eventually hardens into a full-blown energetic complex. It all makes sense when you consider that in this whole universe, energy can't just vanish; it can't be deleted, it only transforms from one state to another... which is pretty much what physics calls the 'law of conservation of energy.'
So, if energy can't just disappear into thin air, then every single thought has to "exist" somewhere or stay active, since it's created the moment we think it. But what actually happens with positive versus negative thoughts? Since every thought—or cluster of thoughts—is essentially energy, it carries a specific shape... some people claim they can actually see these thought-forms. They act like independent entities, carrying their own destination within them. If, say, we spend our time thinking about someone with a heart full of love, that little burst of energy we've generated starts traveling toward that person. That intention acts like a command, telling the universe to deliver that love-energy to them. And because of that, this thought-form will find its target with pinpoint accuracy. It doesn't even matter if the recipient knows we're thinking of them or where they are in the world; thought-energy isn't bound by time or space, it always hits the mark. These positive vibes can then impact the receiver—lifting them up and invigorating them, but only as much as they're actually open to receiving. If they can't take it in right away because they're stuck in a negative headspace, those positive energies just hang out in their aura, in that radiation field surrounding their soul, waiting until they call upon them with positive thoughts again.
On the flip side, if we're thinking negatively about someone else, we're building a negative energetic field; if we're sending out things like hate or envy, those thoughts leave us like autonomous little creatures and head straight for that person to try and mess with them. Now, if the person receiving them is thinking along the same lines, you get resonance—this shared energetic complex starts pulsing and vibrating, amplifying those negative thoughts. This is how actual "thought clouds" form, leaving a person stuck in a fog where they can't see anyone for who they really are anymore; they lose the ability to recognize the good in others. And obviously, that's how you end up with arguments or even straight-up fights. However, if those negative energies don't find any resonance in the other person—if there's nothing in them that matches that vibe—there's no "response," and they won't fall under the influence of those impulses. Of course, when someone is super sensitive, they might still feel those negative thoughts from someone close to them... almost like tiny needle pricks, or just feeling suddenly uneasy for no apparent reason.

I tried to pull out a few decent quotes here, but this text is just... well, it's certainly UNIQUE. Good God, the sheer amount of stuff crammed in here. Negative thoughts, energy vampires, egoism... it's just a total whirlwind of ideas. Bravo, I guess. 👍 👍 Ugh, man... if people actually spent more time reading actual physics and physiology, imagine where we'd be by now.

Negative vibes, energy vampires, pure egoism... it's just an absolute whirlwind of thoughts. Honestly, congrats. 👍 👍 Man, if people actually spent more time reading about physics or physiology, we might actually get somewhere in this life...
Ten out of ten for persistence! I honestly couldn't even finish 😁
I barely made it past the third line. I guess I'm just too much of a pessimist... 😁

I honestly didn't have the energy to read the whole thing. I guess I just get annoyed the moment I see a post longer than ten lines. But, from what I did manage to skim, I don't just agree with the sentiment—I actually live it. I consider myself someone who has been personally "cured" by positive thinking. And frankly, I’d recommend it to anyone.
Actually, I truly believe it’s the only "real and universal" remedy out there. It works on a global scale, affecting the entire body and everything within it (not to get too carried away talking about spreading positive energy, though that's also part of the healing process...). Everything else tends to target one specific issue while potentially—and usually—causing issues on other levels. The best example of that would be something like an antibiotic 🙂.
So, my advice? Try breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, visualization... basically, just focus on relaxing. 👍

I really feel like it's the only "real and universal" cure out there—mostly because it works on a global scale, affecting your entire body and everything inside it (not to get too carried away talking about spreading positive energy, which is also part of the healing process, but still...), whereas everything else tends to target one specific issue while potentially causing side effects elsewhere (take antibiotics 🙂, for example).
So yeah, do your breathing exercises, relax, try some visualization... basically, just chill out. 👍
Look, if breathing exercises and relaxation make you feel better, then fine, go for it. Personally, I feel pretty damn good after grabbing three beers with the guys, or hitting up a game, or winning a little something at the casino, or playing a round of basketball or golf... but I’m not turning that into some grand holy mass or a life philosophy. And by the way, this "negative energy" stuff? It doesn't exist, though maybe people should pick up a science textbook once in a while to figure that out. I always tell people who are obsessed with all that alternative stuff they should probably try reading an actual physiology or internal medicine book instead of chasing Eastern philosophy or so-called "alternative science." People love to moan that antibiotics are bad, even though they're the reason we basically wiped out tuberculosis... whatever... just nonsense.

That’s just all that negative energy you're carrying, man. 👎 You're walking in here with this attitude right from the jump, and your whole vibe just isn't on the same wavelength as the person who wrote this thread... Honestly, if you two actually met in person, there’d probably be a massive blowout or some huge fight. You're just putting out bad vibes, dude, and don't even get me started on how you're treating those antibiotics like they're the worst thing humanity ever invented—when half the time they don't even work anyway—and then you're eating meat, which just triggers all that aggression and negativity inside you... it's basic science, really. Just try meditation, grab some soy, go vegan, and you'll finally feel balanced because your internal frequencies will actually be in sync for once... plus, your chakras are a total mess right now. There might still be hope for you, though.
GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!🙂

"frequencies" 🤣
Honestly, what really gets under my skin about these kinds of preachers—besides the fact they clearly don't have a clue—is how they love implying people are actually to blame for their own illnesses.
And I’m not talking about common sense stuff, like, okay, you eat junk, you gain weight, now you’ve got high blood pressure... that’s just basic biology. No, these folks take everything and drag it up into this weird metaphysical plane where they perform some kind of "spiritual healing."
🙄
There was actually a thread about this a few months back. Someone was pasting chapters from this trendy pop-psychology book where the author basically lists various ailments and claims she knows the "root cause" for every single one. Like, according to her, endometriosis is just what happens when you fail to embrace your feminine identity, or some other total crap like that—citing things like "negative energy"... which, honestly, I always wonder if these people even realize that a molecule is actually more stable when its energy level is lower?
Anyway, after I promptly tore that theory to shreds, they had the nerve to tell me I wasn't "qualified" enough to weigh in on such "elevated theories." 😁

Look, you’re more than welcome to have an opinion on these matters, but I don't think you can claim any actual competence regarding how alternative medicine works—unless, of course, you actually practice it or have in the past.
The idea that people are responsible for their own sicknesses is total nonsense, I agree, but whether or not you choose to validate how mindset and mood affect the physical body doesn't change the reality of alternative medicine's application. Your personal take on it doesn't really change anything here.
Alternative medicine, much like what they practice in mainstream hospitals, is a massive money-maker for many. And since it often boils down to how much an (alternative) practitioner can influence a person to shift their mental state, this field is growing, and it’s going to keep growing. Sure, you could argue that when we talk about healing through positive thinking—or things like meditation, visualization, and breathing exercises—we are essentially SELLING SMOKE AND MIRRORS. It's because what you receive is impossible to touch or swallow (aside from those overpriced little trinkets some practitioners give you, like specialty teas or cookies 🙄), and because after a "mental surgery," there isn't a physical scar to show off to your coworkers at the office. Everything happens entirely WITHIN you, so no one but you will ever be able to say exactly how that shift occurred. But they will certainly see that the change happened.

velvetpilot212 said:Look, you can have your own opinion on this stuff, sure, but you aren't exactly qualified to lecture anyone on how alternative medicine actually works unless you're out there practicing it yourself... or used to.
Oh, I am *more* than qualified to say that invoking "negative energy" is total nonsense. That’s really the core of the issue—you've got people in the holistic wellness scene trying to dress up their methods using jargon from "real" science to sound legit.
And of course, they just end up swinging wildly like Max 😁 at the plate... but hey, what can you do? They're the "alternative" crowd and I'm not, so apparently, I don't get a vote in how much nonsense gets peddled. 😁
