After just one regular beer the other night, I couldn't catch a wink of sleep until 4 in the morning. Just pure, sky-high anxiety. 😢
I’m dying to know if there’s actually a fix for this.

Look, every single morning when I knock back my coffee and light up a cigarette, I start feeling this wave of anxiety, weakness, shaky hands, heavy sweating, panic, and depression hitting me all at once. It’s getting weird because this hasn't really happened to me like this before. Don't get me wrong, I've always dealt with some anxiety, so I know exactly what a panic attack feels like—I'm not even terrified of the sensation itself—but I'm wondering if there's actually a way to fix this? Because honestly, I absolutely love sipping on my coffee. 😁?

Lately, I’ve noticed that whenever I have my morning coffee, I get this slight sense of dizziness...
Does anyone else deal with that?

I had the exact same thing happen. I was slamming coffee in massive quantities until my heart started racing out of nowhere—ended up in the ER because of the tachycardia. I can't tell if it was just the caffeine finally catching up to me or if some random virus triggered it, but it feels like coffee just doesn't sit right anymore. Even a tiny amount makes me feel floaty, almost like I'm hovering. Same thing happens with instant coffee, too. It’s honestly depressing having to give up my favorite ritual.

Resurrecting this dead thread here

So, after what feels like forever, I finally grabbed a coffee—I barely slept at all, and I figured if I didn't get some caffeine in me, I’d just pass out mid-afternoon and lose the whole day
I'm sitting there, sipping my coffee, feeling fine, right? Then my stomach starts acting up a little bit in the back—but whatever, I thought, it'll pass
Then I light up a cigarette. The first one with the coffee was totally fine, but about thirty minutes after the second one, this intense pressure starts building up in my head
And it just keeps going and going. Eventually, my hands start sweating like crazy, and then I can barely even breathe. Honestly, I barely made it through my bus ride😲
It felt exactly like a full-blown panic attack
Things have calmed down now, but there's still this lingering, weird chaos in the back of my head

Could this be from my irregular caffeine intake? I haven't been touching much coffee or black tea lately, though usually when I *do* drink it, nothing ever happens
Normally I stick to Nesquik, but today I went straight for the coffee

Once I finally decided to kick the coffee habit... honestly, the withdrawal process felt way more brutal and dragged on much longer than when I quit smoking or drinking..
Coffee is just straight-up a drug, I guess; it’s tough, maybe even incredibly difficult, to break the cycle and actually feel healthy again while dealing with those headaches and everything else... but that's just my experience, and I don't miss it one bit today. I usually just stick to some water first thing in the morning or maybe a cup of tea.. as long as I'm getting enough fluids, I don't have any issues with digestion, and I've pretty much forgotten what a headache even feels like. Good luck to anyone else trying to quit.

Who even knows if this stuff is actually coffee anymore? I mean, what exactly are they selling us these days? There's absolutely no aroma, nothing. Especially when you buy the pre-ground stuff, it’s completely lifeless.

I smoke regularly and I don't deal with this stuff unless there's coffee involved🤷

Yesterday I had some green tea—my first time all week—and boom, straight out of me. It was like, I leaned over just a little bit to pick something up and suddenly everything went south

When I’m doing it every single day, I have zero issues. But the second I do it occasionally? That's when the trouble starts, especially if I try to be active or bend over right after

Low blood pressure person here, by the way, and I've always been super sensitive to bending over

Reading this gives me hope that I might actually be able to quit coffee one day!
Did you go cold turkey, or did you scale back gradually?

I think I'll try limiting myself to just one cup a day—morning only, with milk or cream. If I can stick to just one, I'll consider it a win!

In the meantime, I picked up some chicory—it comes in a blue box—and it does the trick as a coffee substitute during the afternoon. It’s actually not bad at all.
