Chaos on Brest Street!

Man, how much things change... Freddy Krueger used to be absolutely terrifying back in the day, but looking at him now—especially in stills—he barely even looks scary. That doesn't mean the movie isn't a total blast, though. It still hits those creepy vibes and has some killer moments. Like that part in the first one where the dumpster lid slams shut and he just pops out...
For those of you who love this flick but can't find it anywhere on VHS or DVD—you can actually pick up both the first and second movies easily here in the States now. I went ahead and grabbed both immediately, even though I already have them on my old VCR tapes. You can snag a DVD for like ten bucks if you look around. They're usually sitting right there at places like Walmart or your local convenience store. You can even find versions with different audio tracks. Seriously, hearing Freddy's threats in a different language is wild! The first movie is definitely the GOAT, while the sequel is a bit weaker, but honestly, the second one might be the scariest of the whole series, so it still holds its own.

That theme song from the movie... those drums... even today, that track is haunting and totally timeless.

Just grabbed parts 3 and 4 today. So yeah, you can find $10 the third and fourth installments everywhere now. Probably gonna see 5 and 6 hitting the shelves in a week or two.

Man, I really hope they do the same thing with those Kiss movies.

I don't think the original Halloween movies (aside from H2O and that one with Busty Rhymes, lol) have been available in the States for years. But, seeing as Friday the 13th has started popping up in my feed and the algorithm lately—plus all that horror madness on Elm Street over the last six months—I'd say hang in there! They'll probably reacquire the rights to Halloween pretty soon too.

I have to admit, when I was a kid, there was no way I could fall asleep unless the lights were left on. Haha!

Dammit, this trailer is miles better than the first one. I just hope they didn't burn through all the best scenes already.

I don’t know, man, I just can’t vibe with this new trailer for the remake. It’s giving me such bad vibes—all that acting and dialogue feels way too much like one of those modern teen "horror" movies, and not in a good way, obviously.
The original had this specific sense of dread and mystery, you know? Like, I don't even know how to put it into words, but this new version just feels like an episode of some crappy teen drama series.

And honestly, I don't get why they even bothered doing a total remake when you can't possibly top the original masterpiece.

New poster just dropped. Even without Englund, the flick doesn't look half bad based on the trailer—though it feels like they ripped off bits from pretty much every great entry in the franchise... still, fingers crossed it actually works 🙂

Just finished watching the original A Nightmare on Elm Street. Honestly, the concept alone—and Robert Englund’s performance—is pure genius. It’s easily one of the standout teen horror flicks from the 80s. But looking back at it today... I don't know, it feels a bit thin. Probably because if they were making a movie like this nowadays, it would need to be at least thirty minutes longer just to feel fully fleshed out.

It’s honestly pretty wild watching a movie that feels completely modern—like, you could swear it was shot just last year—yet there isn't a single CD player, smartphone, computer, or even an internet connection to be found in the entire world of the film. It creates this strange, disconnected vibe—almost like stepping into a parallel version of America where the tech just... never happened.

Remakes actually make sense from a purely commercial standpoint—I mean, let's be real—and the core idea here is strong enough that the movie is definitely going to be worth watching.

Robert Englund on the remake — an old clip, but still worth a look...

The original really hit the jackpot with that concept because back then, the idea of someone murdering people in their sleep was such a massive phenomenon—I mean, honestly, how brilliant can you get with an idea like that? Hats off to them, 🙏 but I feel like this new flick is going to play out differently. It’ll probably just terrify kids, whereas for the older crowd—especially those of us who actually lived through that era—it’s mostly just going to spark this huge craving to see Freddy in action on the big screen one more time.

The first reviews are looking pretty rough...

I’ve been scrolling through the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, and to put it mildly, they absolutely trashed the movie.

Can someone please explain to me why we even need a remake of this? It's like, I get it when Hollywood decides to remake those old martial arts flicks from Asia—I guess most Americans can't handle watching anything without subtitles, right? LOL.

But taking a movie that is already a perfect, timeless classic and deciding it needs a "new version"... man, that's just... 😕

Agle. I half expected them to go ahead and destroy this one too, since they've already done the Halloween remake and Friday the 13th, so they might as well complete that infamous trio, right? It's completely pointless.
