Well, I guess so, haha. I honestly can't think of a more polite way to put it, but since this is just a forum, I figured I'd just say it like it is... 🤣😂😂

Sounds pretty interesting, I guess 😉

Yeah, that’s actually what my grandmother used to do... she told me to try it myself once, and honestly, it actually worked. It sounds ridiculous, I know, but it helps.

The first ten pages cover everything—creams, treatments, all of it. This thread is actually a goldmine. I never thought I'd be the guy looking for this kind of info, but well... life happened yesterday.
They’ve been popping up a few times lately... they just seem to vanish on their own after a bit. But then, I get home last night around 3 AM. I go to take a shower and my backside is absolutely killing me. Just great. I figured I’d just try to sleep and hope it would pass by the morning.

Haha... yep, still haven't slept. Damn.
But after about five hours, I noticed some relief thanks to some Lion m cream, a local brand from near Chicago.

I managed to sleep for two hours before the pain woke me right back up. Thank God I read somewhere that I should eat something dry to help with the bathroom situation while this settles down.
Man, I'm literally perched on the edge of my chair. I can't lie down, I can't sleep—no position feels right except for this one. Honestly, I feel more like I'm standing on one leg than sitting.

It feels like third-degree stuff because every single movement or touch is pure agony.
I read online that you can have one on the left side and maybe two on the right.
Terrible. For me, both sides are a total mess.

Still, I've found plenty of good advice here.🙂

And it's only 10 PM. :P

You never know what's going to hit you. Health is the one thing you can't take for granted.

I have a question—can anyone offer some insight here?
I’ve been dealing with external hemorrhoids for about a year now. Every two or three months, I end up seeing blood in my stool—usually triggered by a bad bout of the flu or a few days of diarrhea—and then they just seem to flare up.
From what I can gather, others deal with much more frequent and severe issues than I do. Is what I'm experiencing something serious, or should I be looking into surgery at this stage?

I neglected to mention—it doesn't seem to matter what I eat or drink—there’s no reaction, no burning sensation or bloody stools afterward

If you're dealing with heavy bleeding, you’ve got a real issue on your hands. If it happens frequently, too... for me, it used to happen maybe two or three times where I wouldn't even notice, and then it would just clear up on its own. It was always just Grade I or II, gone in a day or two... then overnight, I'll hit Grade IV, which is the absolute worst.
The first thing everyone asks me is if I caught a cold or sat on a concrete bench or something... but I eventually realized I actually have a sort of internal cold—basically a urinary tract inflammation.

To be honest, I wouldn't go for surgery. I know quite a few people—98% of them, really—who went through with it and they're still dealing with the exact same issues today... or at least, they were.

Look into Lion m cream. A few older folks who dealt with this stuff recommended it to me. I wouldn't wish this situation on anyone.

As for me, I'm currently battling Grade 4 stupid hemorrhoids.
Finally managed to catch up on some sleep this afternoon.

I'm using Lion m—it's a local cream, but you can find similar stuff at any pharmacy.
Progress has been minimal so far, but I just started. I've also been mixing ointment with crushed Advil, putting it on gauze, and applying that... we'll see how much progress that actually makes.

I should have some drops and a homemade cream ready by tomorrow.

I think pharmacies might carry similar drops, something for blood vessels or whatever.
It helps soothe things, and the relief should start to linger.

And obviously, regardless of which cream you use, the most basic and important thing is to drink plenty of fluids and watch what you eat.
A lot of people, including doctors, have suggested:
Faktu ointment
Horse chestnut
Chepiche..

And everyone says these things make it worse and should be avoided:
Coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, soda, spicy food, and irregular meals.

Well, at least you actually know what triggers yours, so please, for heaven's sake, don't go sitting on cold surfaces if you know it bothers you. Personally, I don't think it's a massive crisis if they pop up every two or three months—you can certainly learn to live with that—but the real issue arises when they start making your life a living hell every single day, whether it's through the bleeding or that constant, nagging pain. In those cases, I truly believe surgery is probably your best bet. But if you're dealing with them right now, please be careful; don't let things get out of hand to the point where you end up like some poor soul who literally cannot get out of bed because of the agony, believe me... I don't think there is anything worse than that...

Honestly, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy...

I seriously couldn't sit down, let alone sleep—it didn't matter if I was on my back, my side, or my stomach... nothing worked.

But hey, things were looking up yesterday, and today I feel like a new man... though there's still some work to do. Just wanted to mention,

Lion m helped a little, but what really did it was some plain old ointment (just a basic fat-based one, I think) mixed with some crushed-up Advil...

Progress is slow, though, and I've only just started... plus a bit of ointment mixed with crushed aspirin on a gauze pad... we'll see how much progress that actually makes.

I should have some drops and a homemade cream ready by tomorrow...

I suspect there might be similar drops at the pharmacy—something for blood vessels, perhaps?
They help soothe things and should gradually pull the swelling back...

And of course, regardless of which cream you pick, the absolute essentials are staying hydrated and watching what you eat.
A lot of people, including doctors, have suggested:
Faktu ointment
Horse chestnut
Chepiche...

And everyone agrees you should avoid:
Coffee, cigarettes, alcohol, soda, spicy or highly seasoned foods, and skipping meals.

The thing is, I don't have an issue with diet—I've tried spicy, sweet, salty, and even alcohol.
It has only happened four times in my life, starting about ten months ago.

The last time was four and a half months ago.

It never actually hurt during bowel movements, except for yesterday when I had a massive bout of diarrhea for three days straight. :-P

From what I can tell, it isn't quite as severe a problem as what others are facing, thank God.

I went through this just a few weeks ago, and honestly, I have never experienced anything quite like it! The pain was so intense that I couldn't sit down, I couldn't lie down, and I couldn't even deal with using the bathroom—it made eating absolutely impossible... there was nothing I could do except stay on my feet (so I actually spent an entire week just standing up all day long!). Eventually, it finally ruptured, and let's just say it felt like a massive relief once it subsided. I tried almost every cream and pill on the market, but nothing seemed to touch it. However, I did read online that this is actually somewhat "normal" during pregnancy, so I decided right then and there that as soon as I give birth, I am going to have that thing surgically removed. Don't you think that’s probably the only real way to fix this mess once and for all?

So here I am, sitting by my computer and typing away...
Why? Because these hemorrhoids are making it impossible to sit down—though honestly, that’s an improvement since before, I couldn't even walk without feeling the pain, you know?
In my case, they were such a painful, miserable side effect of giving birth. I had a natural delivery with a pretty big baby, and during the pushing stage, everything just... shifted out there. On top of that, I had to get stitches (an episiotomy), so it was basically a double whammy of discomfort.
I’m breastfeeding too, and for those first two days, I could barely manage it. It hurt so much I almost wanted to give up entirely because the pain was all I could think about!
They’ve shrunk a little bit now—I've been using cold water rinses and applying St. John's Wort oil—and I've been reading through the recommendations here for medications, but I'm terrified of taking pills since I'm nursing and have to be so careful.
Initially, they were about the size of a walnut (in the shell, obviously!), and after five days of using Faktu ointment, they actually got smaller, but then on the sixth day, I had this horrible allergic reaction—exactly like the side effects mentioned here—which was this unbearable itching, so I had to stop using it immediately.
Plus, I’ve been bleeding for 18 days now since the birth; I know that's normal, but it definitely doesn't help the situation when the pads keep irritating everything. And does anyone ever really talk about this? It feels like most women end up dealing with this in some capacity after having a baby, whether it's mild or severe. My labor was fast, but it feels like these troubles aren't going away anytime soon. Honestly, if it weren't for this, I wouldn't want to go through pregnancy again—you know, you expect the pregnancy itself to pass, but with this stuff, you have no idea when it will end or if it even will!
Can you guys recommend any good stool softeners? I can't seem to get things moving every single day—it's more like every second or third day, and when it finally happens, it's just brutal. I tried those Dulcolax tablets, but the label says not to take them for more than five days, and I'm scared of messing up my digestive system if I rely on them.
Please help...😢

🙂

Most people suggest starting the day with some Musli and milk... and basically drinking as much yogurt and fluids as possible...
Home-cooked meals are the goal, but let's be real, we don't always have the time for that...
But whatever you eat, try to pair it with plenty of liquids—milk, water, tea...

Haha... I love spicy food... like extra hot chili and stuff...
It never bothered me before... though if I had just used creams and things right away, I probably wouldn't be dealing with this now.

What helped me most was that stuff from the pharmacy... been happy ever since.

Could we maybe dial back on the "quote" feature, especially when it comes to those massive walls of text?? It just makes the whole thread impossible to navigate! You don't always need to quote the entire previous post to reply... if you really need to show who you're talking to, just strip out the body text and leave their name.

If you're already dealing with hemorrhoids, it honestly makes no sense to use laxative suppositories; they'll just irritate the area even further. You can find fruit pectin gummies containing Encian at any local pharmacy. They taste great, they aren't addictive (though I personally take them once a week), and most importantly—they actually work...

Lion m helped me out a little bit, though I mostly relied on mixing some crushed Advil into a basic natural ointment or grease...

Could you let me know, please? I was thinking about trying that Advil trick, but I don't have any ointment at home right now—do you think some kind of oil might work as a substitute?😢
Thanks!

I’m not entirely sure, since there might be some fat involved in the mix... maybe crush up some Vaseline and stir it all together... I should have the exact recipe by tomorrow. That was honestly my only lifeline.

Starting today, I’ve been using a cream from a guy I know who’s a pharmacist—he doesn't make remedies for just anyone, but he recommended that Vaseline trick to me. He actually whipped up some rather unappealing drops and a cream for me today.

Just a quick correction on my last post; I wasn't talking about those Encian fruit bites, I actually meant Ortisan...
