You got a cat?
Based on how you described it, sounds more like a flea bite to me. Cat fleas love nothing more than taking a nibble out of people...

I’ve got two cats and a dog, but they are 100% flea-free... plus, I usually don't notice new bites until the next morning... yesterday, I spent half the night swatting mosquitoes in my room 🤣 I honestly have no idea where they're coming from; my window was shut tight... it's not even like there are a ton of them, but every time I hear that one buzzing near my ear... 🙂
One of my family members ended up with similar little spots too, though they were smaller and mostly on their leg... I can't think of anything else it could be besides mosquitoes.🤷
What should I use to treat these "spots" so they clear up faster?

You might want to try rubbing some Benadryl gel on it—and for heaven's sake, just stop scratching... 😁

How can you be sure your pets don't have fleas? Look, I have three cats. They never even go outside the apartment, yet somehow we bring fleas in on our shoes or clothes. I treat them with those topical drops, but after a while, they always come back.

If you're getting bites all over one specific area, then it's definitely fleas. One time I used the drops on mine, and my little pig-faced cat slept on my bed, so the fleas just jumped off him and ate me all night long. I woke up in the morning looking at whatever the hell was on my leg—it was itching and stinging like crazy—and then I realized my little guy had passed his tenants onto me.😁

Anyway, I've noticed the mosquitoes this year are absolute bloodsuckers. They leave these huge welts behind. I usually just rub some Benadryl cream or some calendula ointment on the bite to take the edge off the itching.

I won't be scratching—it doesn't even itch at all.😕 😁

My cats aren't actually in my room... and honestly, I don't think they have fleas because we check them regularly. As for creams, I'll certainly use something if needed... but like I said, I'm not even itchy right now. 😉 I haven't had a single new bump pop up today, probably because I finally got rid of those mosquitoes 🙂 and yeah... those mosquitoes... I'm pretty sure they were Asian tiger mosquitoes.

I have no idea what kind of mosquitoes are out there right now, but they are bloodsuckers like nothing I've ever seen. At first, I actually thought I’d developed some weird allergy to bites because the welts were so massive, and even when I didn't scratch them, they stayed huge. But then I started looking at the people around me and realized everyone is dealing with the exact same thing. I can't tell if it's because of all those heavy-duty pesticides they spray every few days around here, or if some new species has moved into the neighborhood, but the itching is driving me insane and the swelling is ridiculous.

I ended up buying some Off!—even though I absolutely hate coating myself in those chemicals—and now whenever I head out, I make sure I'm covered. Does anyone know if they're particularly bad down by the Mississippi River? It feels totally abnormal.

I know exactly how you feel... I live in a small town too, right near the Mississippi... but we don't spray here... at least not yet... When you get down to the riverbank, it's impossible to stay outside without getting eaten alive... they come in swarms.😢 That cornstarch-based Autan is actually pretty decent... I was thinking about using it before I head to bed tonight.😬

Don't be so naive; if you end up scratching it or just rubbing the spot too hard, that's when the irritation is actually going to kick in... 😁

Total bloodsuckers. One bit me last night right through my long pajamas—got a bump high up on my butt and it's huge, though I'm not even itching it yet.🤷 Is Off! expensive?

Nah, maybe like $20. I picked some up at Walgreens last year when they had a sale for $5.00.

One of them—God bless his soul—bit my palm yesterday. 😠 Now it’s itching and burning at the same time, which is driving me insane. The absolute worst is when they get you on your soles, your palms, or your eyelids.

I was out hiking in the woods earlier today. 😁 And let me tell you, the bugs absolutely went to town on me. I’m talking dozens of bites 😢 all over—from my shoulders and hips right down to my toes. 😲

I tried slathering myself in some lotion, but honestly, it hasn't done a thing.
Does anyone know of a reliable remedy to soothe this maddening itch? I’m trying my absolute best to stay calm and stop scratching, but it’s becoming an uphill battle, and I’ve ended up with some pretty nasty scratch marks. 😳 They aren't exactly pleasant to look at.

I remember when Kamagel used to be the go-to solution, but it seems like they haven't carried it in ages; I’ve spent way too much time scouring every local pharmacy in the area looking for it.

I guess Synopen cream works fine for me. Though, I don't really bother applying it for mosquito bites most of the time, mostly because it feels like a chore and seems like something only women and kids deal with 🤣.

Is there actually a scientific explanation for why some people get eaten alive by mosquitoes while others seem to be left completely alone?

I personally fall into that lucky group that mosquitoes just can't seem to find.😁

It seems I’m being avoided too; even the ticks won't touch me, almost as if I’m invisible to them.😂
I suppose we might be emitting something through our skin that they find off-putting.🤷
I have a friend who’s an avid fisherman and takes these B-vitamin supplements that supposedly keep mosquitoes away, though I can't tell if his weight gain is a side effect or just the result of too much beer and BBQ.😂😂😂

God, these things drive me absolutely insane!!! 😠

They don't really bother me on day one, but by the second... total nightmare. 😲

I used to swear by Kamagel, but you can't find it anywhere anymore. 😢 Last night they just tore me apart; I'm looking at about 15 bites right now. 🤦

Right now I'm trying to "treat" it with baking soda and water. It’s been my go-to since I was a kid, but honestly, it's more of a stay-at-home-and-deal-with-it kind of remedy... 😁

Get this—some lady at a holistic shop over in Oakland actually tried to hawk some Kamagel to me this morning... maybe try hitting up those natural remedy spots, see if they have any 🙂

Help!! My 9-year-old is getting bitten every single day, and nothing seems to work—we’ve tried bug sprays, liquid repellents, and even tablets all over the house. He’s swelling up so badly that his whole face looks distorted. We actually had to take him to the ER, where they gave him Dexamethasone and everything, but it's already happening again on the second day. Has anyone else dealt with such intense allergic reactions to bites?

These little bastards are relentless, attacking from every single direction!!!

I’m doing everything—plugging in those scent diffusers, burning lavender oil, spraying Raid around all my window frames... and I still wake up looking like I've been through a meat grinder. I guess I'm just super sensitive or whatever, because every bite swells up to like two or $1.75 inches and stays red and visible for like two whole weeks. And man, they itch like crazy!! 😲

When I'm out grabbing drinks and smoking, the smoke clearly keeps them away since they don't touch me then 😁

I've tried slathering on Benadryl, Synopen, and Prozac gel (that one's actually my savior right now)... I even try rubbing regular rubbing alcohol on them just to get that cooling sensation.

I absolutely hate them 😠

I heard that about the pills too, it's true. B vitamins boost your appetite, and supposedly mosquitoes can't stand it.
So yeah, if you're on a diet and getting eaten alive, maybe just go grab some B vitamins! 😁

Yeah... I swell up everywhere too. 😢 There isn't really a magic pill for it (though baking soda helps me), and honestly, you can't even stop them from coming... 😢
