I know, I know... I’m digging up ancient history here, totally outdated and all that...

But I’m actually curious to hear what you guys think about this movie...

A charming little flick
Amidst the absolute avalanche of mindless teen movies out there lately, I found this one to be quite decent, actually
plus, the cast is genuinely likable

It’s actually pretty great. Perfect for summer vibes and hanging out with a group of girls. 😁

Amidst the endless flood of teenage trash, this stands out as a perfect example of a clever teen comedy with a Shakespearean twist. It possesses just enough sincerity to pull in anyone who isn't completely heartless.

I hate the way you talk to me/

I hate it when you stare.

I hate your big dumb combat boots/ and
the way you read my mind/ I hate you so
much it makes me sick/ it even makes me
rhyme.

I hate the way you're always right/ I
hate it when you lie/ I hate it when you
make me laugh/ even worse when you make
me cry/ I hate it that you're not
around/ and the fact that you didn't
call/ But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you/
not even close, not even a little bit, not even any at all.🙂

It’s one of those movies you can watch a hundred times and never get tired of. At least, that's how it works for me.

Pfft, honestly, it could’ve been way worse. It’s basically the end (shot from a drone perspective, the band is jamming on a rooftop, with text overlaying the screen)

I absolutely love this movie... honestly, along with Get Over It, it’s easily my favorite teen comedy ever.

I can't quite put my finger on why, but it just doesn't feel as sleazy as most other movies in this genre.

I remember renting it from a local video store back in the day... I really wasn't expecting much, but it actually blew me away.

The main reason I picked it up was because that kid from 3rd Rock from the Sun is in it—Joseph Gordon-Levitt, I think...🤔, he usually goes by three names... but the rest of the cast was great too.

And Julia Stiles... well, she's just naturally suited for these kinds of roles. 👍 It's a shame, though, because now this has become her whole thing, and she's probably going to have to work incredibly hard to land a more substantial role that isn't just another teen comedy.

Looking at her recent stuff, I see she's in some new flick, maybe something like Prince and Me 🤔... or something along those lines...

Anyways, I think I might give it another watch if I can find someone who has it on DivX. 👍

Best scene ever... when the high school band performs You're Just Too Good To Be True. 🙏 It’s not quite like something out of The Deer Hunter, but I don't really care. 😁

I’m holding out hope that Julia Stiles will eventually land a role in something that *isn't* some high school romantic comedy.

I’m totally with Melissa Moore32 on this one—that movie is honestly in a league of its own compared to those typical, cookie-cutter teen rom-coms you see everywhere. But hey, if we're talking about modern takes on Shakespeare, I gotta say that Clueless is also an absolute masterpiece.
Honestly, I have to say, Julia Stiles is hands down one of my absolute favorite new actresses out there. Like, I could just talk about her talent for hours, seriously.

It seems that Julia Stiles tends to gravitate exclusively toward Shakespearean adaptations.
I find myself occasionally overwhelmed by the sheer simplicity of certain expressions, yet even a single letter can carry an unexpected weight.
I find myself returning to the profound weight of Shakespeare's tragedy, often lost in thought over the complexities of his characters.

Isn't that part just the absolute best moment in the whole movie?
She really is one of those rare American actresses who I find completely captivating rather than irritating or boring to watch...
