As for the rest? That’s on you. 👋

Look, girl,
I'm not even of legal age yet.
Maybe that's why I'm being so reckless—
whatever, my bad.
It's your problem, their problem, everyone's problem.
It all comes down to interpretation—the context you choose to wrap certain words in.
So yeah, you're right—it's a matter of individual perception.
jack rests her case 🙂

Just one quick question... did you happen to use a different handle on this forum before this one?

yeah, you got a point, you're still pretty young—but what you called "being a jerk" is actually something else entirely...

😁

nah, seriously though, give it some thought... isn't it about time you stopped constantly making excuses for yourself? (you know, growth spurts, moving on, getting past the nonsense)

But honestly, it really just comes down to the individual since everyone's metabolism works totally differently, though I'm sure any doctor you ask will tell you running is the way to go if you want to drop weight, even if sit-ups are mostly just building muscle.

👋

Anyway, you aren't going to see those results in just two weeks, so she'd probably be better off watching what she eats and hitting some crunches to tone up, because while running does help over the long haul, we're talking about a serious time commitment here, especially since the whole thread started with wanting to lose three pounds in two weeks or 🤔
focusing on getting that toned stomach 🙄

Well, to be honest, I’ve been out there running every single day for about three weeks now, and I've been really mindful about what I eat, too. Though, you know, people always say that if you're a runner, you don't actually need much of an abdominal core. But then again, I suppose it really just comes down to how your own body reacts to the training. Personally, I manage to get my miles in every single day 3.1 miles. Not to sound like I'm bragging too much, but I guess I am a little bit 😁

Running burns off fat through aerobic exercise, while crunches build muscle via anaerobic work; they aren't the same thing, but they complement each other perfectly.

If you only run without doing any core work, your stomach will still look bloated, especially after a big meal.

By working your abs regularly, you'll see a flatter midsection even before the fat loss fully kicks in, giving you that leaner look sooner.

OnTopic: Losing three pounds in five days is only possible through dehydration or surgery.

Quick question here:
If I go for a run every single night (let's say 3.1 miles), get home, shower, sit down in front of the TV, and... man, the hunger just hits me!!! I end up eating two slices of toast with two slices of smoked deli meat and slicing up three tomatoes. So, here is the thing: I did the running, but then I ate around 11 or midnight at night—does that actually make sense? I mean, running, and then eating right before bed?
The nighttime cravings really just wash over me... ufff.

Does that actually make sense? Is running and then eating right before bed even worth it?
Because honestly, the late-night cravings hit me like a truck.

If you're trying to bulk up, then grabbing a snack after your workout is totally fine—you can even toss in a glass of milk for the calcium. 😉

The other issue is how healthy it actually is to go to sleep with a stuffed stomach.

Since I fall into the same category of late-night binge eaters, don't take that last part as a judgment. 😳

I’ve got a quick question too:

I’m carrying a few extra pounds and really want to drop them. At the same time, I'm looking to lean out my abs, chest, and arms—basically build some muscle. I’d love to get those vascular veins popping on my arms, too! What’s the move here? Just so you know, I want this done before summer hits, and I am fully committed to making it happen.

I heard there’s this crazy diet at the local Whole Foods that can help you drop 10 pounds in just a couple of weeks...

What should my diet look like?

Oh, and I really want to boost my cardio, too. Is running the way to go for that?

Frank Lee6 said:Running burns off the fat (cardio), while crunches tone the muscle (strength training). They’re different beasts, but they work perfectly together.

If you just run without hitting those abs, you're still gonna have that gut sticking out (especially after a massive meal).

By hitting those core exercises regularly, you tighten everything up before the fat even drops, giving you that 'leaner look' sooner.

OnTopic: Losing three pounds in five days? Yeah, right. That's either dehydration or surgery, nothing else.

Exactly... if you want to "flatten" things out, you gotta tighten those abdominal muscles. You can't have them just hanging there loose..

The single biggest lie floating around the fitness world is the idea that doing crunches is the secret to losing belly fat.
Sure, ab workouts have their place, just like any other exercise, but they aren't some magic bullet for melting fat. Doing sit-ups doesn't burn more fat than doing squats, simply because abdominal exercises target the muscles, not the fat layer sitting on top of them. Fat loss comes down to burning calories, and if you want to actually move the needle, nothing beats a solid run. Training a specific muscle group has absolutely zero impact on directly burning the fat covering that exact area.
If the logic behind this myth were actually true, having a massive, ripped core would somehow mean you have almost no body fat at all.div>

Was that directed at me? Because if it was—nope, I haven't.

Listen, my dear friend with the long handle I can't even be bothered to type out—why don't you just be my mentor?
I’m practically dying to reach that enlightened stage where you can guide me toward the light.
Tolerance, love, zero judgment, and banning all ethnic jokes... ahhh, pure paradise.🙂
Don't lose your mind now—Justin Howard58 was clearly just joking.
The truth is, I haven't quite ascended to that next level of maturity where witty commentary is strictly forbidden.😁

just some cute, slightly-above-average-intelligence girl. trust me, that's not the same thing as having actual wit. and since you're begging for some life lessons, here's a little tip: the world actually doesn't revolve around you. 😁

And while we're on the subject of those "debatable" 3 pounds—it sounds to me like you're the one missing 3, or maybe 30, pounds of actual brain matter.
(Hint: check the dictionary under "foreign concepts.") 😉

Debatable? Looks like you finally made it from A to Z—well, skipped most of the alphabet to get there, anyway. (That's a figure of speech, if you need help with the vocabulary.)
Seriously, why the sudden moral high ground?
Listen, bitches, you just turned the whole damn world upside down over me.🎉

Honestly, I couldn't care less.
If you’re that fragile, that’s your problem.
Am I out here wearing a Red Cross armband? Of course not. Am I supposed to be constantly worried about the mental or physical well-being of my fellow Americans? Sure, I should.
But I won't.
Are you going to vomit? No. Are you going to shoot up a vein? No. So what am I going to do about it?
As long as you aren't affecting me personally, everything is fine. No moral obligation is going to force censorship on me.
Things can get under my skin, but as long as I'm kept at arm's length, it stays strictly as words on a screen.

Despite my endless attempts (at least in these online circles) to rein in my own short temper, every once in a while, I run into a specific breed of person that really gets under my skin—the eternal wannabe. They’re wannabe cynics, wannabe sarcasms, wannabe intellectuals, wannabe bitches, wannabe comedians... just a constant loop of wannabes. Usually, they fall into these categories:

- They show up uninvited and try to hijack the entire conversation to suit their own agenda. Even when nobody asked for their opinion, they just can't help themselves. It’s the same pattern: even a trivial topic about some girl wanting to lose three pounds becomes the perfect stage for them to perform their routine of becoming a wannabe reckless (in three infantile outbursts).

- Their statements usually follow a formula: one attempt at being edgy, followed by one explanation. It’s because they are terrified that nobody will recognize their "wit" or "badassery" after they spout some nonsense, so they feel compelled to explain how they are actually cold-blooded cynics or how that comment was actually hilarious.

- They love assigning importance to themselves. Actually, let's call it what it is: they love assigning extreme importance to themselves. I shouldn't have to explain this, right? But here we go... despite being fully aware of their own insignificance (both in the thread and in the grand scheme of things), they try to convince us that every fiber of their being is infused with a sense of absolute superiority.

- They love to hide behind vague mumbling. It's a defense mechanism so no one recognizes them if they ran into them on the street in downtown Chicago; because while they act like tough fighters here, out in the real world, they're total crybabies. Sometimes they'll even lie about something obvious, like shaving years off their age just so we'll all think, "Jesus... she's so young... yet so a) smart b) well-read c) eloquent d) cool as a cucumber e) fake g) wannabe wannabe wannabe."

I could go on like this forever. But Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn. ☕

I honestly wish you'd check in more often. 🙂

Anyway, back to the topic at hand: Does anyone else notice when they lose 6 or 7 pounds?

To me, it’s nothing. It doesn't mean a thing until I've dropped at least 10 or 12 pounds and can actually feel my clothes starting to hang loose on me. 🤔
