Tattoo issues / Tattoo regrets [read 1st post]

So, I’ve been thinking about getting a tattoo...
maybe just something small, you know, right above my hip area...
but the thing is, I really don't want it to be a permanent thing for the rest of my life...
I think I heard somewhere that there are these temporary ones that eventually just fade away after a few years?
does anyone actually know where I could go to get something like that done??
and if they do, does it actually disappear completely over time?
also, I guess I should ask... is it just as painful as the regular kind?

Yeah, but what happens if you catch Hepatitis or something way worse?

I’ve got two tattoos myself, and honestly, real tattoos don't just fade away.

aren't properly licensed, kind of like those guys working out of unlicensed shops in some random suburban neighborhood. It's always a gamble when you're getting work done at someone's house; things can get messy fast. If you’re serious about getting inked, you really need to stick exclusively to professionals with legitimate licenses. My best advice? Just head over to a top-tier shop in Beverly Hills, grab some of their free literature to read up on, give it some actual thought, and then you'll be all set. 😁

It’s just not true that there aren't tattoos that hold their color.
I’m right about this—the shop where I got mine done actually offers those types of designs.
We aren't talking about henna patterns here; we're talking about standard ink that fades away after a few years.
I can't give you a definitive answer, so you'll have to do your own research.
Personally, I also love white ink tattoos—they stay subtle and don't pop too much, but they look stunning in the summer once you get a tan.
But regardless of all that, think long and hard before jumping in—you don't strike me as quite mature enough yet to make a decision like this.

Regarding those tattoos, I heard they do them over at Beauty Salon Bozic in a nice Suburban neighborhood. You should give them a call and ask about it.
They mentioned using some kind of natural pigment—it doesn't sink quite as deep into the skin as a permanent tattoo would... though I can't say for certain.

Besides, if you want the look of a tattoo without the lifelong commitment? These two options actually complement each other quite nicely 😁
If you aren't looking for something permanent, just grab a temporary decal and peel it off whenever you feel like it 😁

If you aren't looking for something permanent, why not just grab some temporary transfers? You can stick them on and peel them off whenever you feel like it 😁

And then there's the whole ordeal of deciding what to get (actually, I pretty much decided on that about a week ago—something just clicked), where to put it, how big it should be, this detail, that detail... I mean, it isn't exactly a coloring book page I can just scrub clean with a brush. 😉

It’s just so predictable... every single time there’s a debate about tattoos, you run into these people who act like all they can see is a giant warning sign for HEPATITIS flashing right under the ink...
So, tell me, do those same people avoid intimacy altogether just to make sure they don't catch something by accident?
Or do they actually exercise a bit of caution regarding their partners?

Of course, you aren't going to just hand your skin over to anyone; you’re going to be selective about where you get inked. But even with the most elite artist in Los Angeles, mistakes can happen—accidents involving hepatitis or whatever else... It doesn't mean someone is somehow permanently invincible just because they stayed safe for the last ten years.

And yes, I have a tattoo. And no, I don't have hepatitis.

By the way, I know some guys who got tattooed at home by certain people. They didn't go to a shop; they just went to someone they knew could handle it—someone who probably sterilizes their gear and stuff. I don't know much about it, but it’s usually cheaper that way. It’s basically the same thing, just different packaging. You stay home instead of going to a salon...

I'm curious though, when you guys got tattooed, did it actually hurt that much? Be honest. And... are there any of you who are generally pretty sensitive but went through with it anyway? How did you deal with it? Just grit your teeth? Grab a drink? 😉

What can I even tell you? I got my first tattoo when I was 22, and honestly, it just kind of stings a little. I actually think if you go for a wax session beforehand, like I usually do, getting tattooed feels way less intense—like, significantly less. 😁 😁
But really, it all comes down to where you're getting it done.
The skin is just thinner and more sensitive in certain spots.
So anywayz, I ended up deciding against that lip piercing. After reading through all those posts about how the skin reacts and everything you have to do to maintain it, I just decided to pass. Plus, I had a few quick chats with some doctors who aren't exactly big fans of body modifications. 😁

Look, whether it's a YES or a NO is entirely up to you.
If you decide on YES, head to a high-end salon that actually has a reputation to uphold.
Go there and watch how they handle things.
Check out how clean everything is—see if they're wearing gloves and, more importantly, if they swap them out after every single client or if they just keep using the same dirty ones all day.
As for whether it's "smart"...🤔

Look, there’s always going to be a base price regardless of the size. Down here in Miami, you’ve got a starting rate, and then everything else gets tacked on. You have to factor in things like whether it's color versus black and grey, how complex the design is, which studio you pick, and all that jazz.

Honestly, your best bet is just to walk into a shop and ask. 🙂
