Honestly, if you start dropping fractal diagrams—and yes, I’m using the technical term for those visuals—it’s going to blow everyone's minds completely.

Exactly. This is straight out of an 11th grade physics textbook; it’s scientifically proven. Of course, those Latin lover types use this stuff relentlessly to charm their way through life. Am I any different? I doubt it. 😁

What kind of company are we even talking about here? I'm just a student living on a scholarship.

A student. For heaven's sake, and here I was under the impression that darkbison81 was a woman's name. Clearly, it's time for me to head home. Peace out! 😁

Well, that depends entirely on what kind of visuals you're working with. 😉

idiot

The second that idiot realized what was happening, he shot you a DM. 😁

it really depends on what kind of data visualizations you're working with

I have to tell you, the focus here is strictly on content that is educational, easy to digest, and—most importantly—incredibly trendy right now. 😁

Look, as long as they're colorful! Man, you really don't get women at all... a fractal that isn't colorful? You've lost it.😁 Just like something out of Gleick.😉

Who cares if they're colorful? It’s like you don't understand women at all... how can you have a fractal that isn't colorful? You're losing it, just like that guy Gleick.

If it's trendy, it must be colorful.
I don't claim to understand women, that much is true 😁
Gleick is clearly just some flashy bag of chips. I guess I'll have to overhaul my entire diet and start bingeing on those snacks. 😁 Because apparently, my social life is suffering because of it. 😁

Well, I know you know you aren't far off the mark here.😁 Give my best to Paara.😉 That show of his from a few years back totally blew my mind,😁 but people say he's a solid professor. Is there any truth to that?

Doesn't matter though; I don't understand women,😁 nor do I understand people in general....

Give my regards to the guy.

Thanks, though I haven't even laid eyes on him yet.😕

but they say he's a good professor, is that true?

I honestly have no clue. I’ve never sat in one of his lectures; the only time I've seen him was on the news. I remember watching him on TV just minding his own business, eating beans out of a Tupperware container during some break at the TV Council or whatever it was.👍

I don't understand women, or people in general...

Why on earth would you need to understand women? You should be focusing on men instead.😁 As for people, that depends entirely on what you're looking for. I might actually be able to help you there; I picked up a fair bit of insight myself through studying "Effective influence."👍

What's the point of you trying to understand women? You need men. 😁 As for people, it really just depends on what you're looking for. I might be able to help you out. I’ve definitely learned a thing or two around here—for instance, I actually picked up some insight into "Effective influence."👍

I honestly thought we were all going to get together over some appetizers or a round of drinks to actually hash out the situation with DK—specifically when it comes to the terminology they're using. 😁

Honestly, I don't even need to bother trying to understand men. I've already found one deviant specimen who is exactly my kind of crazy, so we can just communicate telepathically from here on out. 😁

What exactly does "effective influence" even mean in this context? Is it just buzzword filler, or are we actually talking about something substantial? 😕

FTF is what Effective influence is all about.

It’s essentially a method of communicating where you exert influence over whoever you're talking to—be it a subordinate, a colleague, or even your boss—in a way that achieves your goal without making the other person feel completely defeated. There is actually a relatively straightforward model for this that could easily be explained right here. This is something I had to learn the hard way out in the real world; it’s a vital life skill. So, if you're interested, just say the word. This might even be an opportunity for a whole new thread, and we can give a little thanks to cosmicridge5 for getting us started. 😁

1. Sure. 🙂 I actually know a mathematician who pivoted into business, and he had to learn this exact same way. But he never really managed to explain it to me clearly. 😠

2. Same here. I used to think I was just an outlier, but then I realized there are a few other people like me scattered across the US. 😁

cosmicridge5, you far-off soul, as I depart with a heavy heart and a tear in my eye, I want to take this moment to thank you for your selfless hospitality. Don't hold any grudges against me. Though, I have to ask—did you stick your fingers in an electrical outlet or something?😁

Coming soon to your neck of the woods on the Job and Career forum: the discussion on Effective Influence, or more accurately, how to manipulate your conversation partner while making them feel like they’ve won. 😁

Later, cosmicridge5.👍

I owe my colleague over at Electron a thanks; I’ll be following her lead and tackling that masterclass topic next. 😁

I’m getting literal shocks from my cat! 😢 I am being completely serious—whenever I pet my cat, even just for a little bit, I end up running away from anything metallic for hours afterward. I can't even touch another person without getting zapped. It’s a total shock for both of us. So, what does this actually mean? Is my cat some kind of freak, or is there something wrong with me? I feel so helpless here... 🙄 😉

So, I got hit by an electric shock from a handrail on the light rail this morning at about 6:30... definitely not the best way to start my day 😁

To everyone dealing with those sudden electric shocks: maybe you should be grateful for the laws of physics. They're just showing you how much magnetic energy is hiding in everyday objects.

Think about it—if a part of the body needs help fighting off an illness, shouldn't the whole system ramp up its bioelectricity? It’s like the body’s own internal power surge.

These little jolts might pass quickly, or they could linger depending on how fast your body heals itself.

For those who can't stand the sensation, you know, you can actually pick up a static discharge tool at some specialty shops in the US. It's basically like a handheld tester to bleed off the charge.

Basically, my point is that when an organ in a living organism faces a serious threat from disease, the entire body needs to ramp up its bioelectricity—what some might call bioenergy.

The presence of these electrical surges could be brief, or they could last longer, depending on how the body's self-healing process plays out.

😕 hiddenviper9, I'm going to have to ask you to be a bit more specific with these points..😕

cosmicridge5: hiddenviper9, would you mind being a bit more specific about these points?

hiddenviper9:
To be precise.
About 12 years ago, I started experiencing these intense electric shocks, especially whenever I touched my car.
Then, maybe a month later, the headaches and throat issues started kicking in.
During my first checkup, the doctor diagnosed me with throat cancer.
The moment I started radiation therapy, those electric shocks just vanished.
Two months later, I was cured—completely healthy, and I've stayed that way ever since.

Just as an aside, I used to work in alternative medicine, and quite a few people came to me with similar electrical shock symptoms.
While studying this phenomenon, I realized that when various energy blockages occur within our cells, our bioelectric strength decreases.
In these cases, one of a few things happens: either nature itself steps in to surge the bioelectricity needed to unblock those cells (leading to self-healing), or the person finds a powerful conduit—like an alternative healer or a priest—to facilitate that process, or they reach a skilled doctor who restores their health through conventional medicine. Or, it's over.
Of course, whether it's the end really depends on what's written in one's destiny.
