I honestly thought you were watching

I’ll just say this: after watching this movie, I wouldn't dream of even thinking about dating Charlize Theron. It’s purely a matter of principle, really. ☕

I probably would, though—but there is absolutely no way I'm doing a handjob with that hand. ☕

Man, looking at your avatar, I get the feeling you appreciate the finer things in life, and if you have a taste for high-quality aesthetics, wouldn't you agree that there's nothing quite like a well-crafted scene? If that's the case, I’d highly recommend checking out a specific moment from the series The Fall where Jamie Dornan shows off what he's working with; you might just find yourself captivated by his recent physique. It's truly impressive, man—absolutely stunning, yet somehow still understated.

If a show is a true masterpiece, does it even need an introduction?

Why though? It’s not like there's any exhaustion or eyes rolling back in their head. ☕

I’d much rather just play it myself than let some machine come along and snatch away my gold😁

it's really just a string of mediocre movies.

I'm honestly not sure what your issue is. I guess you've become something of a legend on this Reddit for someone who obsessively defends things that just can't be defended. It almost feels pathological at this point, like maybe you don't even believe what you're writing anymore. You seem to praise movies that aren't even relevant to film history—just some marginal stuff that makes money simply because people seem to favor mediocre films these days.

I don't remember the old one all that well, but I guess this new one is pretty rough. It seems to try and establish its own world and style, but there's maybe not much of a plot, and it feels like just two hours of violence.

I'm with you. I honestly don't get the hype. This new one is decent enough action for me. Honestly, I'd rather just have pure action than some tedious, pathetic plot we've seen a hundred times before. Look, the second one is a solid film, but that first one? It's an absolute snooze fest. I have no idea what people are actually seeing in that movie. 🤷

I get it—things were different back then, and I respect that. But there are plenty of old films that actually sparked movements and still hold up incredibly well; they’re probably better than 99% of what's being churned out today. With that first Mad Max, though, I just can't get behind it. Maybe it's just my subjective take, but I think time has finally caught up with it and left it behind. 🤷

Not really. I went back and watched the first two much later on, and it wasn't that time had somehow improved them—it's just that they are genuinely good movies. I absolutely love them, but let's be real, they aren't exactly masterpieces. In my opinion, the first one is the best of the series (and I have plenty of arguments to back that up), whereas the third one is actually better than that exhausting Fury Road.
