Alex Brown50 said:It’s just a sad reality—you can only really deal with wild lunatics and killers using force, which is basically the playground of every kind of sociopath out there. Sure, guys like Churchill, Patton, and the Red Army played their parts in history, but I wouldn't go saying they were some icons of progressive civilization we should actually look up to. It's the same thing with how the US and its corrupt elite export wars, exploit the globe, and pump out insane amounts of mental and environmental pollution—just because they're doing that doesn't mean we should throw away our civilized standards. That’s just an irrational, destructive reflex that always ends in disaster.

The West is wicked, exports war, exploits people, blah blah blah... so whose "civilized standards" are we even talking about here? 🤷

China 🤷 the Arab world 🤷 Latin America 🤷

Where exactly is this paradise on earth? Where are these supposedly virtuous civilizational standards hiding? 🤷

Or is "the West" just a convenient label we use for whatever suits us? Maybe what we call the West isn't even the true West, but just a small minority that only exists because those greedy exploiters from the West allow them to, simply because there's a slightly less tolerant group standing on the other side of the fence. 🐔 because otherwise, 🐔

Look, the West is General Patton—deal with it. ☕

Sure, just that whole binary mindset—everything is either good or bad, black or white—and mocking those fake civilization standards while acting all macho about it. Real original stuff, I guess... that's your limit. Look, you're basically the gritty outlaw who actually gets how the world works, while the softies can't wrap their heads around it.

The funny thing is, you are actually projecting your own binary mindset right onto the conversation. ☕

So, I guess our American paradise is doomed to crumble simply because the individual most responsible for several wars and the largest refugee crisis in the last fifty years didn't receive the recognition they deserved? Is that how it works? 🐔

Man, I just sat through that new Mel Gibson flick and honestly, it’s such a massive spectacle, you absolutely have to see it. There were moments where the combat felt so brutally realistic that I'm sitting here feeling legitimately traumatized.

And honestly, you can't really blame Trump for seeing the world in black and white.
Beyond just the extremes, he’s actually capable of spotting those other shades that aren't quite white.

Man, those trees are getting way too tall for their own good, you gotta go out there and trim them back, just be one with the Earth or whatever.
The Amazon is looking totally outdated and clunky, like some old relic from the past, while the Earth is feeling fresh, modern, and ready for what's next.

Exactly. Only someone completely blind could support a woman like that. Sure, Trump is a crude guy, but at least he isn't a corrupt war criminal.

Man, Trump’s gonna be preaching peace to the whole world—honestly. You guys will realize pretty fast that things might actually get way messier than they were under previous administrations, but hey—enjoy the "people's victory" while it lasts.

We aren't even expecting that; who knows what's coming. But logically, you’d rather take a risk than just keep repeating the same old mistakes. Trump beat the mainstream media, Hollywood, Wall Street, and Hillary. He didn't even have the support of his own party at first, which means he actually has capable people around him. There's some hope there.

Look, you really have a choice between a proven disaster—someone buried in serious scandals regarding domestic policy (under FBI investigation, no less)—and... this. When it comes to foreign policy, I don't even need to elaborate; she’s largely responsible for this entire migrant crisis and the surge in terror attacks across the West. And yet, you're going to tell me "no, I'm sticking with her because Trump is too crude"? (As if he doesn't have his own share of drama). Look, I hold more liberal views myself and I disagree with a lot of what Trump says, but supporting her is an insult to common sense.

Honestly, I'm not feeling her at all—and if I were in charge, I wouldn't vote for any of them. It’s a total lose-lose situation... I just think this guy is a much bigger, potentially way more dangerous threat. He basically rode to power on pure, irrational impulse—just leaning hard into those primal, social-barbarism instincts. He’s actually worse than his opponents in that regard, and don't even get me started on his supposed "care for the people" or his fight against the establishment. Just look at all the racists, bigots, and every other type of paranoid nutcase out there in America. They are literally thriving like never before—doesn't that say something? We've seen these kinds of populist frenzies play out in history before.

But how can you claim he’s "potentially evil" when he hasn't even been in politics until now? That’s pure speculation; I have zero clue what his term will actually look like. I’ve heard Hillary talk about arming China with missiles and threatening Russia, whereas on the flip side, Trump talked about trying to build better relations with the Russians. God knows how much truth is in any of it, but based on those statements alone, I’d conclude Trump is the lesser of two evils.

What propelled him into power was primarily a destructive and irrational impulse; he tapped into the most primitive instincts of social barbarism. He’s worse in that regard than any of his opponents, and you can forget about him actually caring for the people or fighting the establishment. Just look at all the racists, bigots, and various other paranoid lunatics in America. They are practically glowing with joy like never before—doesn't that say something? We already have plenty of historical precedents for this kind of populist madness.

Surely you realize Trump isn't quite the monster the bought-and-paid-for media portrays him to be? For Christ's sake, you'd think the man was Hitler reading through all that propaganda; half his quotes are ripped straight out of context. If anyone played dirty and tried to exploit our most primal impulses, it was the opposition campaign.

Alex Brown50 said:Capitalism is basically a system where most people end up losing—and once enough people feel left behind, you get these right-wing populists popping up, promising everyone will win if we just purge the "sick" parts of society and the "traitors." Then they pick their scapegoats: the corrupt elite, bureaucrats, immigrants, minorities, women, LGBTQ+ folks, some globalist conspiracy, the Illuminati... whatever works. They call for even more cutthroat capitalism, claiming the "real Americans" need to "work and build," leaving no room for anyone perceived as weak. And then, predictably—mathematically, really—the "people" go downhill fast, and everyone acts shocked about why.

It's because that "out-of-touch" elite they hated was actually just a reflection of themselves. Honestly, in a lot of ways, the public can be worse than the elite. Even if political correctness feels fake or forced, and even if those sociopaths at the top ignore basic decency, holding onto certain civilized standards is still an achievement. Trump is technically part of the elite too, but he's the worst kind—the type that looks most like your average American.

Alex Brown50 said:Bravo, now that’s some top-tier intellect right there—reading "alternative news" to dodge all that liberal-Marxist propaganda. It’s that classic crowd—the supposed "salt of the earth"—who always blame their own struggles on giving too many rights to groups they deem "unproductive" or "entitled," while falling hook, line, and sinker for every tacky populist lie out there. Truly groundbreaking stuff. We haven't seen this level of genius in history before. Seriously, bravo. And once they actually try to act out those childish, mindless fantasies of superiority by picking some sociopath to play savior? Well, it’s usually just a fast track to total collapse and a whole lot of crying.

Look, political correctness can definitely feel hypocritical or even just plain absurd sometimes, but at its core, it’s a massive civilizational win—basically the glue holding modern society together. Whether we're talking about women, immigrants, minorities, or the LGBTQ+ community, it matters. Tearing that social fabric apart is going to backfire on everyone, especially the folks at the bottom, regardless of skin color or whatever else. This whole "just a regular guy who doesn't care about transgender issues because he just wants to work" routine? That’s either pure political illiteracy born from a total lack of empathy and imagination, or it's just good old-fashioned fascist instinct. Honestly, probably both. Sadly, the so-called "out-of-touch elite" is actually less dangerous than this "regular guy."

👍

It reminds me of the excitement surrounding those attempts to defund liberal media outlets. The idea being that now "we"—though this cheering crowd doesn't even consume those outlets, and most don't even know anyone who does—will finally be free from that "Soros-funded" burden. Suddenly, the supposedly God-fearing, traditional American will be able to flourish in an economic and lifestyle sweet spot somewhere between Scandinavia and Western Europe.

Just as we were all swept away by the glorious triumph of those various conservative ballot initiatives in years past.

It is truly incredible how much people cling to this new quasi-conservative paradigm. Everything is a grievance: political correctness is garbage (unless you call a conservative bigoted), liberals are either elitist snobs or weaklings, Darwinism is poisoning children in schools, someone else's misfortune is always their own fault, and minorities have been given far too many rights.

If this hadn't happened dozens of times throughout history, I might not say anything. It’s just that today, stupidity spreads like wildfire across the internet; whereas you used to need a bit of patience to listen to the radio or read a newspaper to form an opinion, now you see three memes and suddenly you think you have the blueprint for saving the world.

Nah, honestly—I think he’s actually worse. Instead of those polished, calculating sociopaths we're used to, we've got this vulgar, megalomaniacal type. Might not seem like a huge shift, but it's potentially super dangerous. I hate to sound like a broken record here, but history has thrown us similar curveballs plenty of times. Populist megalomaniacs who ride the wave of people's worst impulses... they almost never end well.

Even if all this stuff hasn't happened a million times before—which it totally has—I wouldn't even care. It's just that stupidity spreads like wildfire online these days... back in the day, you actually had to have some patience—like listening to the radio or reading the paper—just to form an actual opinion. Now? You see three memes and suddenly you're an expert on what the world needs.

Exactly. I've always hated those clichés about "history repeating itself" because they sound so preachy. But honestly? They're freaking spot on.

I suppose Trump really just tapped into the frustration of a huge chunk of the population, and he did it through economic messaging rather than pure ideology. The ideology is probably just the icing on the cake, but he won them over on the economy. Elections are essentially just a competition, and if the opposition doesn't offer enough to the people, they lose. You just have to convince enough people from different walks of life to check a box on a piece of paper. The underlying reason almost doesn't matter as long as you sell a story they want to believe. In that regard, Trump sold a very compelling story to voters in the Rust Belt. Those folks were left behind during the industrial shift, and there are quite a lot of them.

We’ve all got a Trump and a Hillary living right here in our own apartment buildings.

Hillary is that nosy neighbor on the ground floor who’s always peeking through the blinds. She knows exactly who comes and goes from the lobby. If she spots anyone even slightly out of place, she’s already writing down their license plate. If she hears a single suspicious noise in the hallway, she’s calling the cops immediately. When you walk past her, she just mutters under her breath and glares you down.
She’s got a whole squad of clones from the surrounding streets. They know every nook and cranny of the neighborhood. They don't like anyone except the local priest, who stops by for coffee every weekend so they can complain about how crazy the world has become because some neighbor was shaking out a rug at noon yesterday.
Most of us spent our summers getting chased away from the entrance with a broom by this busybody, or getting sprayed with water whenever we tried to kick a soccer ball around the park behind the building.

Then there’s Trump, the loudmouthed guy in the penthouse. He keeps Peter Thompson4 up all night screaming his head off. He says whatever pops into his head, no matter how racist or chauvinistic it is, and he insists everything happens his way. He’s basically declared himself the spokesperson for the entire building. He even renovated his bathroom and balcony using the HOA funds, and there isn't a damn thing anyone can do about it. He’s got a Pitbull named Tiny that terrorizes the local cats and bites the super's ass, but of course, he just laughs it off and claims the dog is just playing. Everyone’s just used to his outbursts by now; he’s a total caricature of a neighbor.
The guy regularly tells that nosy lady on the ground floor where to shove it and spits out her window just to spite her. In his mind, he’s the hero of the common man.

Look, brightpilot6, I get it, but some things just aren't about politics. The government shouldn't be cutting checks—not even a single cent—to any media outlet, period.

And honestly, Robin Fox2 hit the nail on the head regarding Trump. America isn't just California, Texas, and New York.
