I'm planning on heading to San Diego this summer. The area is great, though I guess it might be better to avoid the absolute peak of the season. It can get a bit crowded with all the tourist crowds. If anyone is looking for more of a wild, natural vibe, I suppose going to the islands or further south might be the way to go.

Could anyone lend me a hand with this? Does anyone happen to remember that specific song that used to play during the late-night segments on the old nightly talk shows hosted by the late Johnny Carson? I recall a music video featuring horses and travelers, and all I can remember is the lyric, "The roads are calling me, I'm moving on while I'm still young."

San Diego is just okay for me; the beaches aren't anything to write home about, and while the city is charming, you get bored pretty quickly.
I'm hitting up Santa Monica next week, and then I'll be down in Key West this August.
I expect the same vibe from Santa Monica as I did from San Diego... hopefully, Key West will actually live up to the hype.

Honestly, if they want to rename a street Leo Messi Square, I’m totally fine with it.☕

Well, I suppose it doesn't matter... let him become an even bigger criminal if he wants to. 😳

Keith Miller30 here. Honestly, I’m glad they're changing the name because the old one was pretty inappropriate, and I’ve always felt that guy was a criminal. My issue isn't with the change itself—I would've voted yes in a heartbeat if we'd had a choice—it's just how it was handled. It feels like a total power move by the administration without actually asking any of us what we think. A referendum should have been the way to go.
Now, I bet someone "sensible" will step up and complain about how much a referendum costs. Funny how nobody ever complains when millions of taxpayer dollars are being blown on fancy multimedia rooms, new iPhones, or government SUVs. ☕

The New Right just gave us a masterclass in what true patriotism looks like: they offered us a rebranding campaign in exchange for a small fee—essentially just helping secure another four-year term defined by theft, cronyism, and corruption.
Honestly, how much of an idiot do you have to be to swallow that kind of rhetoric? 🙏🙏

A nation is often a reflection of its public squares.🙏
I mean, really? Is there truly no figure in American history—local or national—worthy of having a plaza named after them? "Republic Square"? That’s the absolute peak of their creative intellect?

Well, it certainly makes things convenient, doesn't it? If you happen to disagree with the name, you might as well be declaring yourself an enemy of the Republic.
I mean, why does Liberty Plaza bother you so much?

Times Square. Man, this guy was out there taking on everyone—Turks, Italians, Mexicans, Canadians... you name it, he had an opinion on it. He really covered all the bases ☕

I guess Barcelona fans wouldn't mind much, since their city is graced by Plaza de Catalunya. It might have been a funny little joke if they’d named this one Plaza de Catalunya too, just to show how much our city follows La Liga.

I suspect there aren't many streets or public squares left in cities like Chicago or New York that are still dedicated solely to the legacy of the resistance movement—even the major landmarks have been rebranded, though that’s a tangent.
It was simply wiped from the map.
I honestly wonder if there is any other nation in the West that feels such an intense sense of shame regarding its own anti-fascist history, or rather, the specific way those actions were carried out.

Yeah, it was pretty sneaky how Mike automatically suggested naming it Liberty Square, because let’s be honest—who’s actually going to argue with that? 🤣
They really should have held a referendum to see if people even wanted to rename it, and then give them a few different options to choose from.
Also, can one of the mods please reset the password for Keith Miller30 and DM it to me? ☕

Given the current administration in City Hall, they probably would have just named it General Franco Square and his spiritual successor Florentino Perez Square.

If you wanted to bring the Antifa crowd and the Barca superfans together under one roof, you’d just have to rename the plaza Marshall Vilanova Square.😛
