Oh, sure, because we are clearly the smartest people in the entire universe, right? Just look at our "stellar" results! 🙏

Americans seem to have such a deep love for government overreach, so really, who are they to complain about taxes? Everything is just spiraling out of control! ☕

Neither the smartest nor the most clueless. ☕

Paul Chase95 said:What can I even say to you at this point? You’ve always had this constant argumentative edge. And yeah, it’s me—who else would it be? I'm not exactly going to call my neighbor over to settle the debate. Look, honestly, I think a lot of your takes are actually pretty sharp and decent. Believe it or not, we probably only disagree on one or two specific things out of everything we’ve ever discussed on this forum—and since I love to mess with people (guilty as charged)—we end up bickering over those tiny slivers while ignoring the rest.

Take wine, for instance. I know absolutely nothing about it, so I have no way of judging if someone is well-read or an expert in that area. All I know is that there's red and there's white, and that's where my expertise ends.

Then there's the matter of that HOS monument. While I personally feel that having Zdeněk Zeman's name on it is totally inappropriate and should be removed, seeing you or Anthony Jackson2 comment on it might tempt me to troll a little and claim it's some old-school salute or whatever, just to be petty. 😁 In real life, though, I'd tell you straight: that greeting on the plaque is strictly there to provoke.

I have to hand it to them; it’s a rare thing to find two outsiders who cover such an expansive range of topics while still being deeply embedded enough to offer any real substance to the debate. We're talking everything from high-level mathematics and fine art to the nuances of chess defenses, foreign policy, and history...

Let me rephrase that—moderately unintelligent! 👏

Man, just look at your own paycheck! Unless you're some parasite living off the government sector, you’d have to be losing your mind to tolerate this sheep-like mentality among the public.

Take the latest example: pension funds are being used to bail out that black hole known as Petrokemija Kutina. Hey, they are literally taking a chunk out of our hard-earned wages just to rescue failed socialist-era projects!

Not really; if we’re looking for something slightly outside those bounds, maybe topology? Art and history are just part of a general culture that most people touch upon (though how much you debate them is another story), and foreign policy is basically woven into daily life now—especially with stuff like immigration—so it’s hard not to pay attention to those shifts and decisions. I'm sure you've been keeping an eye on Brexit, or the recent elections in France and the US, and so on; that's just standard viewing. As for chess, well, chess is chess—people have their hobbies. ☕

Calling it a rarity? Come on, just give the guy some credit. Most of us Real Madrid fans spend our time in private chats after every match calculating air resistance on every single Cristiano free kick, running fractal equations based on Bale's movement on the pitch, and basically drafting a PhD thesis on how Zidane influenced the pop culture of his era. ☕

I don't think the elections are proof that people are stupid, per se; it's more like this can all be explained right here:

If you have the time and energy, I promise reading this will be worth it...

Honestly, please don't even bring me into the same sentence as people like that again. It’s not that I have anything against them personally, but I truly believe that anyone who actually values themselves and their own skills has no business working in the public sector. At least not before they hit 55. I get an allergic reaction whenever I hear a young person say their goal is to land a government job. Look, I get it—they want labor protections, zero chance of being fired, and decent pay (even if no sane person should actually be satisfied with it), all while the state is in whatever mess it's currently in. But still, I can't wrap my head around someone making it their life's mission to enter that sector, only to spend their entire career coasting through an hour or two of actual work and spending the rest of the day sipping coffee.

Where were you? What did you actually achieve? Nowhere, nothing, and absolutely nothing.

For anyone under 55 who actually thinks they're worth something, that lifestyle is a slow death. It’s practically like walking into a notary office and signing a document stating you’re completely useless.

I’m just hoping there isn't anyone from the public sector lurking around here—though if there is, they’d probably find it pretty awkward to admit. 🤣

See, I noticed here on Reddit that you cover an insane amount of ground. Politics, economics, KC, sports, movies, culture, TV shows... Just tell me you also run marathons and play competitive chess while you're at it. ☕

As much as I might not be able to stand one particular forum user when it comes to politics, I have to admit the guy covers literally everything and is incredibly sharp—he's a real powerhouse. He can be irritating and downright rude in private messages, sure, but there isn't a single topic he doesn't know inside out, and he always finds a way to twist it to suit his own argument.

Man, we have really been through the ringer these last couple of days. 🙏 We’re all just counting down the minutes until the match of the year—Liverpool FC vs. Manchester City—so we can finally get back to actual football and tune out all the nonsense from KC and Zdeněk Zeman. ☕

Even though they're actually some of the smartest people around, they just live off everyone else and couldn't care less about taxes while you poor, misguided souls struggle along. 🕺

Yeah, honestly, from where they’re sitting, anyone working outside the government sector is just an idiot. To them, it’s all about that guaranteed paycheck, the holiday bonuses, and zero actual responsibility—I mean, most of them haven't even earned enough in their lives to buy a pack of cigarettes... From their perspective, "idiots" are the ones out here grinding and actually producing things just so they can fund their lifestyle. And, if I'm being real, they aren't entirely wrong.

I know this one inspector—I won't say what his specialty is or where he works—but the guy has been out on medical leave for three or four years straight. He couldn't care less about anything happening in the world around him. 🙏

I'm more into other sports than running, though I've occasionally hit the riverwalk path when I wasn't working on my cardio elsewhere. Running gets pretty monotonous, especially when you're out there by yourself...

The last time I played chess was against a computer about a year ago; I'm definitely no grandmaster... 😁

We can pivot from politics to recreation for a change. I’m absolutely obsessed with running—honestly, I can't imagine getting through a day without hitting the pavement (except for Sundays, because even my body needs a breather once in a while). Every morning, I knock out a loop from 5:45 to 6:45 AM, and on Fridays and Saturdays, I’ll head out to the levee in the evening since it’s relatively close by; those sessions usually run anywhere from an hour to two hours.

I actually spot some of you guys out there on the trail sometimes. ☕

To be honest, I’m not really sure—I’d have to dig through the old logs over at the local rec center to find them. The crew used to post all their training reports there, so I’d always upload mine too—routes, splits, everything—usually just taking screenshots of my apps. These days, though, I don't obsess over the data quite as much; I just run because it feels good. It's become a bit of a ritual for me since I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I don't eat junk—well, I stick strictly to what I prep myself (unless life gets in the way), so I guess you could call running my one little "vice."

I’ve finished four half-marathons, for what it's worth.

How about you?

I pretty much do everything you avoid, all while keeping up with my running. It's all about finding that balance. ☕
