Come on, tell us more about Scandinavian socialism—that favorite little leftist myth of yours! 🍿

The myth of the elite technician, the high-society academician, the staunch communist, state control, the old comrades, the Warsaw Pact, privatization, liberalization.

It sounds remarkably like a campaign platform from a midwestern Republican strategist.

Oh sure, if we're pairing conservatism with liberalization, then anything goes! 👏

Karamarko and any single point within his platform 🤷

He was essentially just stacking up buzzwords without any substance.

On a side note, I just realized that our old rival from back in the day is playing in our local league now. Good grief, seeing those two names together brings it all back. We used to play those intense local derby matches in the lower divisions back home. 🙏🙏 What’s next, some tiny town team facing off against the local legends? 🙏

🤣

What’s the best way to deal with a massive influx of noise? Honestly, when guys like Jordan Peterson or Ben Shapiro weigh in, I find myself agreeing with a huge chunk of what they say—especially Peterson—but apparently, if you dare to offer even a little bit of constructive criticism toward the American system or express any appreciation for how things work in Scandinavia, you’re immediately branded a leftist or some other label. 🙏

Honestly, if you take all of Eastern Europe—minus Ukraine, Belarus, and Bulgaria—you’re looking at a massive fleet of planes just waiting for us to pick them up.

And trust me, they will be. I’ll give it ten years max.😁

I mean, where does Bulgaria even fit into that? One good round of neoliberal reforms and suddenly they're catching up to us in no time. 🕺

But hey, we can always keep telling ourselves that life here is just better and that our highways are superior, right? 🕺

I’ll just stick to under-the-table cash, man. I have zero interest in feeding the corporate fat cats. Honestly, my day job already provides them with more than enough. ☕

Man, everyone’s losing their minds over the abortion bans and those religious fanatics running the show in DC, so look, here’s a quick take on what’s actually happening. I feel like on this forum we need a freaking 10,000-page academic thesis because apparently, we Americans are all supposed to be these high-level economic gurus who just somehow know that something isn't sitting right with the way things are going in places like Texas... this whole argument over one basic article is basically a perfect snapshot of our society right now, where everyone thinks they’re an expert on everything and knows it all, yet for some reason, we just can't seem to get anything right.

They privatized everything, went through the absolute wringer at first, and then you had the companies that were bleeding money either pivot or go bust, which eventually turned the private sector into this massive engine that pushed us into the top 10 economies in the world.

I mean, seriously, why is it so hard to just acknowledge a few positive things for once?

But hey, I guess wiredfalcon2 needs a 10,000-page dissertation instead.

It’s pretty wild that nobody even brought up that controversial Holocaust law 😂

Look, I actually run my own little side hustle, and honestly, there hasn't been a single week since I started where I haven't felt some level of regret about it. And before you even ask why I don't just shut the whole thing down, let me tell you that anyone who has ever tried to navigate the world of small business in America knows exactly why that’s easier said than done.

btw, I’ve actually scaled things to the point where I could pretty much automate the expansion year after year, but I just don't have the desire or the mental energy to go out and start fighting windmills all over again. We're talking micro-entrepreneurship here, and instead of actually focusing on the work I love, I end up spending hours upon hours every single day drowning in paperwork. And yeah, I'm definitely not playing strictly by the book, because if I didn't, I wouldn't get a day off for months at a time, considering I'm pulling 15-hour shifts regularly. But I still have to maintain these logs in spreadsheets, capping everything at a max of 8 hours, logging when I worked, marking my days off 😂 And please, don't even get me started on "management contracts"—of course there are plenty of "legal solutions" for all this stuff here in the States, but if I actually utilized every single one of those official loopholes, I'd be left with absolutely nothing. I'd be broke.
Luckily, I manage to pull in enough income from other ventures and international sources that I can play around with actual cash, rather than dealing with the pennies I'd be left with here if I had to cover every single living expense through local means.

ps. Just to be clear, we're talking small-scale income and minor operations here, so nobody gets the wrong idea and thinks I'm out here running some massive corporation or making millions; I'm really just doing this to keep food on the table.

In some other country, with the amount of energy and grit I put into this, I would have secured a more than decent lifestyle a long time ago. And yeah, I actually think about it, because I know people who have just straight-up bailed on working in this backwater part of the country, though it isn't exactly an easy call to make. Okay, maybe not just this specific corner of the US, because there are other places that feel like the "West" to us but are actually even worse when it comes to certain things. Specifically, Italy.

Religious mantras on a forum? Come on, man. You walk in here acting all Catholic and suddenly you're just a total piece of trash. And don't even get me started on those folks from Poland—we aren't even gonna count them because they're such hardcore religious zealots. They claim to be "progressive," but give me a break.
Just imagine how much of a "vibrant" life Americans have, right? Since we're having Pride parades every other weekend—yeah, that's what they call progress, a little light at the end of that religious tunnel. And who cares if our economy is basically struggling like some developing nation? Who gives a damn when we've got plenty of dumpsters to hang out in?
Total madness, bro.

While Americans bicker about religious extremists or the mafia in Slovakia and whatnot, everyone else has already moved past us. All that's left is Bulgaria. 🙏

The average American still makes jokes about the Czech Republic, even though they're practically a superpower compared to us.

Good grief, who on earth are you talking to? In the last decade, I haven't heard a single soul making jokes about the Czech Republic's economy.

PS

And honestly, a massive round of applause for those scheduling spreadsheets; whoever came up with that deserves a Nobel Prize in Bureaucracy.🙏

The same goes for those vehicle usage logs, especially since the government already accounts for those expenses through flat-rate tax deductions anyway.🙏

Really? Because I hear it all the time from people in every walk of life. People can't stop mocking the Czechs. And don't even get me started on Romania!

All these endless forms and logs are only necessary because this bureaucratic monster has to justify its own existence. Personally, I find the storm drain fees to be the most ridiculous charge of them all, considering half the country doesn't even have proper sewage systems.

In our supposedly "great" nation, the privatization scams and the absolute wreckage of the state were orchestrated by those ultra-conservative types, not some hippies with flowers in their hair. Let's be real: the leftists are basically irrelevant here; it’s the right-wing crowd that actually ran the con.

The sheer amount of red tape is all thanks to the EU's influence on global standards.
