I get where the group is coming from, but honestly... where can we actually have a more constructive conversation?

Matthew Anderson4 said:Nobody is talking about hair gel or mental health here. Honestly, I suspect there's a witch hunt going on. But don't worry, we know a thing or two about magic.

What kind of witch hunt? Look, we should be able to act like adults and just say what's bothering us without all the whining, and if someone else has an opinion, they should just answer properly.

It’s not like anyone on the Pushimer team is bothering me, and I wouldn't dream of kicking anyone out. It’s just that after four years—where we decide we need to change something every six months—I'm honestly just sick of hearing the same old crap...

Matthew Anderson4 said:This needs its own thread. People are complaining about trolling just because they can't handle a little banter, which ends up burying the one or two actually useful posts we get a week. It’s not even trolling, it's just messing around. But hey, I get why someone with zero sense of humor would see it that way.

Nobody is going to complain if the joke is actually funny or if these pointless debates finally wrap up. The issue isn't about a lack of "constructiveness." It’s about the fact that through these silly little diversions, you're effectively ruining the most interesting thread on this entire forum. My apologies—you're ruining it with your "humor."
We've both made our points, and that should be the end of it. I have zero interest in bickering back and forth for ten pages over something this trivial. 👋

Where on earth are the moderators when you actually need them? Seriously, it's like they all just vanished into thin air right when things start getting interesting.
You can't be serious—are you telling me the whole damn day is being swallowed up by the council meetings? Seriously? Just one endless loop of bureaucracy after another? That sounds like an absolute nightmare.

darkmarlin16, look, laws aren't just cooked up overnight, and neither are the rules for what we talk about on this forum. ☕

darkmarlin16 is young—he’ll learn ☕

I’d love to give you some specifics, but right now we’re just in the negotiation phase—which, as you all know, hasn't exactly gone smoothly in the past 😬

Let's keep the bickering to a minimum on this thread, please. We recognize the issue and we hear both sides—but finding a fix isn't easy, especially if we want everyone to walk away happy. Suggestions are always welcome, of course.

So there you have it. All the big brains and even Anthony Jackson2 are currently chewing on this mess, and I’m telling you, they’re definitely gonna come up with the most fair solution possible.

Give me two topics—one constructive, one for a total trollfest—and we’re done. Problem solved.
It’s just like those F1 subforums where everyone spends their time bickering over "my driver is better than yours." From what I've gathered, that kind of nonsense works perfectly there. Why don't you let darkmarlin16 and the rest of them take the lead? They'll feel right at home.

Look, the fix is painfully simple. Just spin up a dedicated thread for them—somewhere you can dump all that nonsense once they start acting out. It's not like they have to stop posting everywhere else. Sure, the quality might drop to MLS or maybe even USL levels, but at least it'll be readable. For God's sake, we’ve got fifteen different threads over here just trying to expose the corruption in American pro soccer, yet when people who spend two days arguing about growth hormones try to weigh in, we hesitate? Makes no sense.

That’s probably the fix, but the issue is trolling isn't really fun when it's done in a thread meant for it—everything just cycles back. Plus, you can't really stop discussions from bleeding into one another... It's easy enough when people are nitpicking stuff like Franco or Messi's treatment, but once the trolling shifts toward actual current events, things get messy...

btw Patrick Wright2, watch out for those warningsimage

You seem pretty young, man; have you ever thought about getting into politics?

That was a top-tier diplomatic response, by the way. ☕

Look, the topic is what it is. The issue is that there are these two massive clubs dominating everything, and then 95% of the people on this forum belong to those toxic VRM and VB factions—so of course, it devolves into constant bickering and trolling (I’ll admit, I’ve let a few trollish comments slip myself). On one hand, I get where people like Emily Ward and Robert Torres are coming from—and if there are any actual constructive voices left here, I highly doubt it—because you end up with ten pages of nonsense debating whether some player is gay or whatever tax scandal is trending... It's a tough situation.

I assume we have the option to split off specific topics or just put a cap on the trolling and constant jokes on this one.

We need some level of seriousness here. Given the crowd and how much ribbing goes on, splitting the threads seems like the smarter move.

A funny comment is fine, especially when emotions are high during a game. But scrolling through pages upon pages of nothing but inside jokes is exhausting. I imagine anyone not part of that circle finds it distracting from the actual topic.

Lately, when I check in here, I skip to the last two or three pages and usually don't find anything worth reading.

It really makes you wonder—why wouldn't there be ten full pages dedicated to Messi’s tax issues if there was enough interest to drive it? Or why is it that some reporters are allowed to look the other way when it comes to Real Madrid or Barcelona, while others face nothing but stigma just because they aren't interested in Getafe?

Fine, if we’re such a nuisance to them, let’s just head elsewhere. I honestly couldn't care less where we end up writing. Just take all your internal bickering and trolling over to some El Clásico troll thread, or whatever passing drama is happening in American soccer. I don't understand why that kind of behavior is perfectly acceptable over there, yet completely taboo here.

It’s not just about the mess with Messi, there’s so much other crap going on, it feels like a new drama every single day. If one day we're obsessing over Messi, the next it's everyone trying to kick Raul out of Madrid, then it's Ronaldo's body issues, then Messi sitting on the bench against Bayern, then the whole thing with the mole, and so on... I don't care if people write ten pages about Ozil's transfer or whatever, but the endless back-and-forth bickering? That's what really gets old...
It’d actually be bearable if it was just like ten people going at it internally. That used to happen on every thread—back before things got watered down—and it actually made sense. But now that there are 30 people all chiming in about some nonsense Dad said in the newspaper, following the conversation is basically impossible unless you want to get sucked into the drama...

I don't know if I need to say this again, but I don't have a problem with you or anyone else on the main thread. Some posts are actually decent to read, and there's some good banter here and there. We’re just talking about moving one guy's specific argument to its own thread... honestly, there's no need for all this drama...

Amen.
Look, I get it. If you're a fan of the Lakers or the Celtics, you're gonna talk trash and mess with each other—that's fine. But there's no need to bring that nonsense into the thread meant for following the MLS. Just start a new thread for the banter or whatever you want to call it...

Anthony Jackson2 and Alex Cook, where the hell have you guys disappeared to?

Is anyone actually going to do something about these mind-numbing, absolute snooze-fests they call matches on ESPN? It’s driving me insane.

Robert Torres, don't worry, you aren't flying solo on this one. 🙂
