A few days ago, he actually reached out to me—talking all about yachts, the French Riviera, St. Tropez... you know how those types are! 🤷

Like Casey White13 said, they tried, but the public didn't bite the way they expected; the whole thing was pretty much ignored. Those 500 posts or so were just scattered around—maybe thirty pops up over a couple of days, then nothing for two weeks.
If we start splitting up all the leagues, the whole PDF is going to get too diluted—better to just let the Portuguese and MLS stay right where they are.

We aren't seeing enough high-quality new blood coming through the gates; in fact, for years now, it feels like more people are walking out than walking in. The old guard, those once-energetic forum veterans, have already devolved into grumpy, cynical skeptics facing an early mid-life crisis, much like Robert Torres. For the younger generation, this style of communication feels sluggish, unappealing, and just too much work. Why bother weighing every word or carefully structuring a conversation just to be taken seriously, when you can just drop a snarky one-liner on Facebook and have it instantly blasted in front of hundreds of people?

Robert Torres said:It’s true that this way of talking doesn't really pull in the younger generation, and platforms like this are basically doomed in the long run. But instead of stressing over it, we should just focus on making things more fun for those of us who actually still hang out here...
There are still people here who genuinely want to debate stuff. You can't deny that there are a few specific topics where discussions stay heated and keep drawing in new visitors. We should probably try to cater to them by dropping interesting new threads or breathing life into older ones that actually have potential, rather than diluting everything with ten different threads about video games and endless chats about gaming subcultures.
Everything has an audience, sure, but everything also has its place. This shouldn't turn into a message board for video games.
Gaming threads are fine as extra content, but if six out of the ten hottest topics on the front page are all about video games, then it's pretty obvious this place is circling the drain...
brightpilot6 said:I can see where they're coming from; if I were walking in here for the first time, I might actually mistake this for a gaming periodical.
But then again, wouldn't moving to a standalone publication just be cosmetic? The real issues run much deeper than that. It’s less about pushing away potential new contributors like Byron M or even ruggedjackal46, and more about how much it hurts those of us who still remember when things were actually better.☕.
